So Cadwell Park on Monday was great. So great that I forgot to video mostly anything. Argh, sorry guys. When I finally remembered we should get some cool content for RUclips, the session that me and Josh went out on got cut short by a red flag.
Anyway, not one to waste video, here's a sample of what's to come. We're planning a return to Cadwell Park in just a few weeks to really put the DC2 to the test, and see if it can keep up with Josh's EK. Both cars were faultless by the way, and drove exceptionally!
Oh, the intro. I thought the clips alone would be pretty boring. If I've gone overboard please do let me know how much of an idiot I am in the comments below. Cheers!!

Quite well matched cars. At times it looked like the EK had some edge, but then you had some balls at times and your gearing seemed more favourable. Hooray for the return of the dc2!
Don't be fooled by the gearing on the K24 - it has the torque to pull hard in any gear! Well matched though I agree. Can't wait until we can have another play. Josh's is undoubtedly faster but it's fun trying to keep up!
I reckon if he sat a bit closer to the wheel he'd be quicker....top driving, but looks way to far back in his seat. Both cars are Rapid :)

CK_32 you have no clue as to what you’re saying. I can tell just by your comment that you have no idea what traction means. You probably think just because they’re banging off the limiter that they can’t drive. Secondly drag racing is by no means easy. I’ve done track racing and done well and drag raced at a drag strip and done well. Two completely different thing and neither one is easy.
I had a laugh at the Hot Version / Yorkshire Version intro. Great racing! both cars looked evenly matched. The in-car camera footage was nice until 4:17 when I thought my monitor fell on its side...lolol
Haha thanks man, the intro was a bit cheesy so I'm glad most people thought it was funny! Yeah Josh needs to sort that camera mount out haha.
These are some freaking fast cars. The footage almost looked sped up in some spots. Really good driving as well. Stay save!

Hmmm, tricky one! There's a few things I still want to do in the EG so it's not done with by any means. Though the want for an S body is also very strong..

All good but why the driver in the ek is sitting so far back, his arms are so stretch in order to grab the steering wheel. Great video though and nice driving.
Maybe long legs and short arms. Duh.

So much I liked about this. That 24EK sounded so strong and like it just wanted to be pushed. Love the heal toeing. Integra driver made a few mistakes but he did drive very smooth fir the most part. Great video. Thanks fir sharing with us.

Nice run guys both great drivers and i love the ffs times. Right on point. Not a big fan of honda but man can they be lethal with just a bit of work and a good driver. Awesome vid.

Yocshir hot version, indeed, the setup on the EK is uncommon with 17" on the front, however I can see it handles good!
Uncommon, but rising rapidly due to the success of the Time Attack cars in Japan!

To be honest I usually drive like how Josh has it, but recently fitted the steering wheel spacer. I think I'm going to go back to the way Josh has it with his arms a bit more stretched. We're both 6ft 2" so we need to sit back far due to our gangly legs!

That EK sounds like heaven.
Not much point in heel-toe downshifting if you don't let the clutch out quick enough. A lot of them sounded like a blip up and down, and then the engine being spun up through the clutch and gearbox. Not that critical to get right in a front drive though to be fair.
It's not that critical in a front wheel drive car compared to RWD, you can really upset the rear end balance on a RWD car by downshifting incorrectly! Still on a FWD car it aids braking stability, and obviously is a bit nicer on the transmission.
Nice one wish I came to see this in person maybe next time awesome !

Teg drover caught that whoopsie really well. Dc2s can get be thrown into corners but once it's gone its gone.
Is it me or does the EK driver need a spacer between his wheel and his hub. His arms are completely straight when hes cornering
Interested to know why someone would fit such a huge rear wing to a front wheel drive car. There doesn't seem to be much front aero to balance things out. What about the drag? Any laptime comparisons with and without the wing?
Ah the old "wtf is a wing doing on a FWD car" discussion. You've gotta look at it this way, a wing is a way of creating downforce for the rear wheels at high speed regardless of whether those wheels are driven by the engine. It keeps the rear wheels stuck to the floor, adding stability. Take a look at the FWD Time Attack cars in Japan who run Tsukuba in under a minute.
I agree about the front splitter. Josh did start the day with it fitted but had to remove it due to it scrubbing on the deck. It was the first time the car has been on track since its build so there were a few little issues like that. It will be fitted for our return!
I didn't say 'a wing', I said 'a huge wing'. It looks similar to a touring car wing, but touring cars have lots of other aero to create balance (they run lower, deep front air dam, sometimes canards, flat underbody etc). I'm genuinely curious if the rear wing alone makes the car faster or slower? The other thing is, aero adds weight and creates drag, so it might actually slow you down everywhere for the sake of a bit of stability in the very high speed turns.
I think it's definitely worth taking it off and seeing how it does next time we're out!

Bloody great video! Really decent driving from both of you. The EK sounds savage. Maybe a silly question but how much of an affect does the rear spoiler have? I saw some Tsukuba footage years ago about the difference of a big rear spoiler on the back of EKs but the video seemed a bit....faked. Would be interested to hear your thoughts please. 👍🏻
Why would it seems faked? the aero was setup equally front and rear and when they removed the rear wing the balance was ruined. You also have to remember that in a stripped out FF car, there is no weight on the rear meaning little to no traction from the rear tyres under braking, causing collosal oversteer. Rear wings on FF cars are for balance.
To be a true Hot Version you need drivers making casual remarks & cracking the occasional joke while going balls to the wall
