An incredible athlete! As I said many times before. I like you, your enthusiasm and also brute power! Many of Latvian guys are amazing armwrestlers, but you are special. Good luck for the future, man...
Janis, you and Ray both inspire me to keep training, despite all the obstacles my life keeps throwing at me. My love of armwrestling always helps me through. Thank you bro
True, however, since armwrestling is such a young sport, there are people comming in and winning worlds after 2-5 years of training, and some people think if they are not good after few years, they cant ever be good. And this video shows you can still be great if you just train consistently for long enough.
I don’t remember for sure, but I think that it is not in correct order in video - fight with Lubomir was semifinal after long fight with russian Sergei Blokhin. Lubomir was beast. I won against him in EAF 2006 and 2008, but both times after that lost in semifinal. - Janis
I am more disappointed about my lost on fouls in 2010 final against Zoloev. I felt I could have done better. About 2013 final against David Bartusiewicz- I won him in normal fight in qualification, but in final he fouled out. - Janis
It may not be the most glorious or satisfying way to win but it's part of the sport and it only adds to it's complexity, like winning on time in blitz chess.
To walk the path of Jedi is to walk the path of the most resistance, but the most glorious victory await you at the end
You won the pinned post.
Very true
😂😂😂
My favorite armwrestler in the world. Learnt more from this man than any of the other champions on RUclips.
Thanks. Stay strong and love armwrestling. - Janis

@@voiceofarmwrestling I have been chasing that benchmark since day one, 5 more years to go 😁
So inspirational. I don't know about becoming world champ but it makes me feel like I can become really good.
It is always good to see the Jedi in action! :D
Matches at 4:52 and 5:34. Boom
When you hear Janis yell "Oh-PAHH" it is all over.
Paulo Morbio champion Brasil 🇧🇷 I love channel

At 5:10 there is the same female referee from the cyplenkov vs Arsen fight
Yeah, we don`t have that much good referees.

Nothing but a total powerhouse. Well deserved 👏.
Any one who knows anything about arm wrestling loves the JEDI. My favourite armwrestler by far. Janis the legend.

3:08 do you by any chance know the name of the winner?
Lubomir Jagnesak from Slovakia
@@voiceofarmwrestling Second place was a Bulgarian?
@@nvmffs That’s Khadzimurat Zoloev with the Russian flag second
congratulations Janis!
Who was the guy that pinned him at 2:13?
epic music too, nice editing 👍
Thank You. First time working with AI to enhance the video.
What an amazing story
You already become champion when Zoeloev is there, it's awesome.
Amazing arm wrestler, just curious but is he a big star wars fan by any chance?
This could use a clip vs. Justin Bishop.
What's the worst armwrestling injury a tendon injury or a arm break ??
As no-one answered you I will, An arm break heals faster than a torn tendon.
1:43 - это не Хаджимурат случаем?
Yes
Janis is always the greatest 💪
:))) damn right
All about the fight
@armwrestlinglife
12 years isn't that long of a time to become world champion, most Olympian, football, tennis player ect, train their whole lives

I can't believe how easily Ljubomir put you in hook, were you very tired?

Does Janis have a wife and family?
Not taking anything away from The Jedi, but it kinda sucks to become champion because your opponent(s) fouled out.
I am more disappointed about my lost on fouls in 2010 final against Zoloev. I felt I could have done better.

If they could have won without the fouls they would have done it. A win is a win.
Who?
