Great job Dan! Great job all you guys! I'm 66 and I just completed my first rim2rim October 19th. Down the South Kaibab and up the North Kaibab. It took me 14 hours and it was my first long challenge hike, I'm very proud to have made it. I'm seriously considering rim2rim2rim, thanks for stoking the fire ;).
Amazing accomplishment. I just completed this in May, nothing will ever overwhelm you as much as a Grand Canyon hike of this intensity. The emotion you feel at the end of exhaustion, happiness, mental and physical exercise is astonishing. Bravo fellas!!
Fantstic adventure. It's so inspiring to see Dan finish this amazing hike in such a great time. You guys should have millions of subscribers! I did the Rim-to-Rim once (north to south) and it was quite strenous. No way I would have walked the same way back again, haha!
Dan, awesome job. My brothers and I are looking to do the Rim to Rim to Rim in May. I hope to finish like you did, and great video guys. Love it. Keep adventuring.
Nice job guys, nice videography, too. I've done this solo and considered filming also. I can understand the extra mental energy you expend filming, so kudos to you. The only thing I'd suggest to others is to ditch the poles and ditch those big backpacks. I've watched the guys who do this in like 10 hours and they are usually carrying a water bottle on their hip and one in their hand and that's about it. Only thing you really need to worry about is carrying sufficient electrolyte mix. The only place where you really are stretched for water is the final river to South Kaibab trailhead.
Spectacular gentlemen!!! That was inspiring and emotional! That was gutsy as hell, and I can't believe you went all night, and then chose the S. Kaibab as your exit....GNARLY!! I've run a bunch of R2's, 6 of them with my daughter, and it's always great...until it isn't. The finish is always emotional.
that’s tough my uncle got winded when my buddy and I went ahead at a faster pace to drop our bag and get his. long story short i hear a rattlesnake rattle under a cactus and a foot off the trail is a cliff. they were 3ft from me and seen another one 3ft from it. we pegged them with rocks and ran. we were still in the bottom about a mile from camp. and would’ve needed a chopper if we got bit

What do you do about food/calories, I'd imagine at least a running vest filled with snacks? Looking to do R2R2R next
24 hrs? Did you camp in the canyon?
carbon fiber leg is cool as fuck man. north rim is fucking brutal. Much more elevation gain in a shorter time than south. This guy is an inspiration
