Bro, that's not cool. Yeah, the unboxing section was annoying but he's done a pretty good demo of a 3000$ product as a service to the youtube community and he's one of the first and few to have done it. Comments like that are disrespectful and totally ungrateful. FYI, if you're watching youtube using HTML5, you can speed up the video by clicking the little gear icon and selecting a different speed. I personally watch all the videos at 1.5 speed. If it's a really long 40min video, I watch it at 2 speed and switch to 1.5 when they're talking about stuff that interests me. Hope that helps.
six sided Would apple designed their own VR glasses similar to hololens and would cost $3,000? Think about it. Microsoft didn't say anything that the hololens was aimed for the consumer. Meanwhile, there is the htc vive which cost less than this. Which product would you think consumer will get?

MrComputercracker Great question, when we designed holo lens our main concern was the details and by minimizing the FOV we can calibrate the focal point so it wouldn't alter if you move your head. Next question.
M.L OK. Why couldn't you just have the hololense recreate a virtual prerendered space to overlay onto the user's surroundings? I feel like that would allow for a bigger fov, though may require a faster processor. Also how many gigahertz does the current hololense processor run at?
upload a 2D image of a square to the hololens. Make the square 5x5 feet. This will be the top down overlay of the real space. Use that over lay to create a calibration program so the hololens can calibrate itself along the Z and X axis. But how do I make a calibration program? Put clearly visible markers for the physical representation of the virtual space around your work space, then stand on one edge of the perceived cube space and turn your body 360 degrees. This will allow the hololens to create a 3D landscape picture of the entire room from one side of the square. Do this for all four sides. Now design a program to stitch all four pictures together and create a virtual space. This way it just needs to be placed into a calibration space when not in use. Does that sound like it could work?

Upgrades that the hololens needs: 1. (Command/button needed) You can go on RUclips/Skype/Twitter etc. Without moving your body by improving the part of the device that receives microwaves from the brain and maybe canceling out physical movement, to make it a bit easier for sending brain waves the lens can be a helmet instead (I sound smart but idrk what I'm saying XD) 2. You can play games by inserting a cd/usb into the hololens (or the holohelm) I need more ideas ;-; Plus I just want SAO to happen irl ;-; Minus the "of u die in game, you die irl" thing Sounds easier said than done, but with these kinds of technology, I'm sure it'll happen! I'm too dumb to make any of these but once I will put my trust in humanity
This is going to change the way we interact with computers. It here are going to be generations of people who will use their pc with that. Because who needs a screen if you ve got that.
YOURE FUCKING JOKING RIGHT????!!! Youre wearing a miniturised fully blown pc on your head running WIRELLESLY. You can have a 100inch screen on your eyes but youre just too dumm to understand perspective. Ignorant people nowdays really expect everything...
Its closer to AR (Augmented Reality similar to Pokemon Go using the camera) than actual holograms. I had clock that displayed the time on a clear window I got for $1 online a few years ago. The tech isn't new, its just being applied in a different way. If youre clever enough you could actually use the Samsung Gear to greater effect as it doesnt cover the whole phone and so you can use the camera on the device in place of a clear glass window. The resolution isnt going to be that fantastic, not at least until it reaches later stages of development and it is at best as powerful as an old iPhone. as for portability, a laptop and a mini projector (pico pro or the likes) can give you a screen well over 100" with processing power easily 5-10x faster. Not to mention a longer battery life on laptops and the ability to "plug and play" without an annoying cable hanging from your head. Also, a laptop is much cheaper overall, Ive got a 500 dollar laptop that can play most games at high settings vs the hololens being a $3000 equivalent to the iPhone 5 with a few extra sensors.
Max DeBauge yeah aboslutely, so easy youncould build one. What classifies as a hologram to you then sir? Stop insulting years of R&D and the work of MANY eingineers
Can I say, please don't say they are holograms.. They aren't. They are projected AR.. Please see the definition of what holograms are.. Microsoft really messed this up calling it hololens when in fact it does nothing to produce holograms... There will be people going to reply to this comment saying that I'm wrong but if they do the research they will see that I'm right... I just want to make sure that people are informed correctly on what this product actual is.. It's an AR helmet.. Nothing more.. It just gives the illusion of holograms...
Tom Winter Well, it's projected hologram. Hologram doesn't have to be physical u know? It's AR and its hologram at the same time cause u can see holograms thru it.
If you look at the last line of en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Holography then you will see Holography should not be confused with lenticular and other earlier autostereoscopic 3D display technologies, which can produce superficially similar results but are based on conventional lens imaging. Stage illusions such as Pepper's Ghost and other unusual, baffling, or seemingly magical images are also often incorrectly called holograms.
While you may be right, you're also wrong in a sense. You're basically doing the whole "But the word Gay means Happy! Not that someone is a homosexual!" thing... Times change, definitions change. Sure its not a true to definition hologram. But to a wearer, it appears as such. Yes its really just AR and not a true hologram, but when you're using it, you THINK it is a hologram, you SEE it as a hologram. Thus, to a user, and their brain, it IS a hologram.
Sigh and we go round in a circle.. i know what your saying, I'm not trolling or anything.. just informing people what the Hololens actually is and making sure people don't say holograms.. it's more like projected AR. Times have not changed and definitions haven't either, it's people mis marketing a product that actually doesn't do what it's says it is cause people haven't been educated on what the word hologram actaully is.. we see it in movies and TV shows (Star Trek being one of them).. do you see all the crew donning Glasses or headgear to see the hologram... nope.. AGAIN NOT TROLLING.. Let's put that to rest please
I suggest buying at least a condenser mic for recording. I would suggest a neewer branded one, as it's very cheap. also, please take more time to improve camera angle and lighting. like the video content is great, but the quality sucks. despite your video actually being really good, the visual and audio quality really ruin the professionalism.
Lilly Padgett yeah right he should listen to you because you have 26 subscribers and average 100 views per videos lmfao get good first noob before giving advice. LOL 😂 😂 😂 😂 😂 by the way i love your security guard dancing video you stole from another channel. Get real son.
M.L this is my personal channel, my actually channel has 240+ subs and like 500 views per vid. also dud stfu i was giving constructive criticism. People like you are why I'm pro choice
Nope, normal guy, I mean, did we ever saw legit Augmented Reality? maybe the shit from the 3DS but the Hololens is a whole PC with new tech, so I kinda expected 10k tbh
I have question please Why we need hololens? the work that hololens do smartphone can do easily. it just for fun like games!? VR cardboard same thing do.
What is the quality of the picture? In the videos they look fairly dull, and since the first videos I saw they were showing off gaming do think the quality is up to that level?

Plus I just want SAO to happen irl ;-;
Minus the "of u die in game, you die irl" thing
Sounds easier said than done, but with these kinds of technology, I'm sure it'll happen!
I'm too dumb to make any of these but once I will put my trust in humanity
*We call this "gays"*
k
This is going to change the way we interact with computers. It here are going to be generations of people who will use their pc with that. Because who needs a screen if you ve got that.
I need this;
Don't we all
soon u will be able to enter the dream world nd live there for as long as u want stay tune with microsoft
Sword art online)))
This thing will be amazing equip for doctors or new surgeons for medical practice. Wow
JUST SHOW ME WHAT THEY FUCKIN LOOK LIKE
I love the Steven U background music
waiting 4 nervegear 😁
jeefry muliadi SAO!!!
jeefry muliadi Yup. But if SAO tells the truth we have to wait 5 years.
I'm waiting for Amusphere. (can't melt my brain and all that.)
You probably won't be alive by the time "Nervegear" comes out.
Stop crushing my dreams
The OASIS is almost ready
DUDE THE FUTURE IS ALREDY HERE!!!
Still waiting for nervegear from Sword Art Online
Im picturing someone wearing this in a coffee shop and then someone snatches it up and runs
Sorry, but I keep hearing hall-lens. Great video though!
coolest tech based item ever
wait so the actual screen is the small lenses ? and they dare to ask 3000 dollars for that....wow dissapointing
Mikki Yeong It's in the nascent stage. wait for the commercial edition.
YOURE FUCKING JOKING RIGHT????!!! Youre wearing a miniturised fully blown pc on your head running WIRELLESLY. You can have a 100inch screen on your eyes but youre just too dumm to understand perspective. Ignorant people nowdays really expect everything...
***** RIght now tell me how many of thsoe are as big as thi one and how many of those can render holograms you mule!
Excellent demonstration. Now if you would only buy me a pair !
Tom Winter
True.
Let's put that to rest please
nEXT~ your voice when saying the commands sounds like you're sweettalking to a lover
+Lilly Padgett yeah but who really cares what you think...
+Lilly Padgett and whos people?
auto focus not working? if so, why bring them closer to the lens?
3K WTF!
BUZDRIFT, I see 3K as normal for this piece of tech, i expected to be srsly 10k
QubicMeter
Not worth 3k....Not long and it will be 1k. 10k you have very bad economical exectations...You must pay like $100 for bread
Nope, normal guy, I mean, did we ever saw legit Augmented Reality? maybe the shit from the 3DS but the Hololens is a whole PC with new tech, so I kinda expected 10k tbh
QubicMeter The MS studio is worth 3k but not the Hololens! Still too basic....
QubicMeter the official released version is 300
Dude, this is some Iron Man hologram stuff
I have question please Why we need hololens? the work that hololens do smartphone can do easily. it just for fun like games!? VR cardboard same thing do.
Sukhwinder singh cardboard vr sucks tho
It's for augmented reality. it's so you don't have to use a smartphone. Microsoft is aiming to make it a lot smaller.
Mr. SquishyMuffins well its group discussion not argument everyone share own what they think pros and cons!
I'm not arguing I'm just saying what it is
What is the quality of the picture? In the videos they look fairly dull, and since the first videos I saw they were showing off gaming do think the quality is up to that level?
Does he really have to describe every tiny detail?
KieranD9503 this is honest review
I'll like to see the art side of this advancement
Holy mother of fuck this thing is $3,000. I tried it before and its really cool, but not that cool!
moto324 don't sweat it too much give it 10 years and this stuff will be more common it's the way technology always works
2:40 bro..
Is that a theme from steven universe?
I love you now
best unboxing, but sorry to say , worst lighting.
LOL, ya! That's the only light that I have in my room. =(
Nice work man, I m really looking forward to buy hololens once it's available in India
we call this, gays!!
Joshua Serna lol
Joshua Serna a Homolens.
very nicely ecplained ...
is there any chance that hololens will improve field of vision in future
I wish these things were way cheaper....
they will be in the future. this is just the development version.
Nick Aikey exactly dude lol 3000 is way too much. they probably won't sell much either cuz it's too over priced
Jonathan Florez This is just the dev. Kit. Probably they make it was cheaper then it's finally released
dont forget it is its own pc in a way and a top end pc are around $2000
but yes when they inprove + are much cheaper mmmaaybe i get one?
I'm building a vr ready pc and it's only going to cost my $700.
Holo lens plus rollercoasters = genius
