Thanks for the video!! Please make sure to get a scalp brush and brush ur hair in different directions or your follicles will get clogged. Do this at night when you take ur durag off and when you wake up. Thanks again for the video!

That isn’t the point tho 😂 it’s so u don’t gotta use a durag in that situation and also it’s convenient. Plus some people might forget their durag if they sleep over and didn’t know and like it can help in a pinch.

would it work the same as a durag if i used a silky kind of material and wrap it around my head
Conrad Sanisitou yes it would but durags make it easier since u have the shape made for that. A regular t shirt wouldn’t recommend for everyday or long term use. Just in a pinch if u forget urs or for some reason can’t wear ur main one. Most silky durags are actually a poly satin blend. There is no true silk durag and u can do it research and know that that’s fact. Silk is expensive and isn’t something u actually want on ur head. If u get the same material as a durag tho and use it, it’ll work. Will still compress ur hair and maintain progress. Ur hair mimics what u put on it tho so it’s why people use silkies. Leaves it shiny and soft. Let me know if You do end up using ur own material and how it works out for you. But in theory it will be the same as a regular durag that u made urself. Also if that silky material u mean is a head scarf then yes will work.

Yes but if ur gonna use it as ur main durag try to not use a cotton material at the very least polyester cus cotton will absorb moisture and oils from ur hair. But it should work until you can get a actual durag

If it lays your hair down it's a durag right...does it have to be all silky?
No, the silky durags just make ur hair shinier but they don't have to be silky. Most durags even the silky ones are polyester so I'd use something that's blended with it or something stretchy instead of like a cotton shirt.

No, this is a temporary thing for the most part. Depends on shirt material but this is mostly just if you forget durag or are going to do something where you’d sweat and you don’t wanna get your main durag messed up

It probably would be because the extra padding , but if you were going to use this as a permanent method then I’d recommend using a different material than cotton since it absorbs moisture easily. If you want to avoid lines with your durag make sure not to over tighten but also space out ur straps about a centimeter. This way they aren’t all overlapping and it won’t cause a line. Hope this helps.

Telsy Sanisitou like trill chain said, its just a way to maintain waves in a pinch. You don’t get waves from wearing durags u get them from brushing. Durags help train and compress ur hair. This can do it but the material isn’t what u want on ur head every night. It helps in a situation u forgot ur durag or don’t have one and want to start getting them before u get them. Long term tho it’s better to get a silky durag because ur hair mimics what you put on it. Although silky durags aren’t real silk, ur hair mimics that shiny soft material. It’s the same reason why people use velvet durags for show but not really when they go to bed. They still help compress and keep ur progress but are not optimal for long term usage if ur using it as ur main durag every day/night.

Telsy Sanisitou if you get the cut too low then they won’t show as much. If u get it a little before the length ur hair waves up then u get progress back fast. U could always just trim and have some just they won’t be as deep. My hair used to always look flat because it was compressed then when I would brush it lifted up again but when hair got longer waves got deeper
