This movie was actually originally intended to be a TV show. That's why they have elements like "Zombie kill of the Week" in it. I think this would have gotten old as a TV show, but works very well as a movie.

Zombie movies that are really good are highly underrated. Most people think its just blood/gore and violence. But the real deep ones reflect on life and who they are as person. Its take the end of world and having no where to run or hide to face themselves. Unlike other horror movies its a waiting game and the monster isn't chasing all the time. Its great and tragic because some reveal that they would be selfish and cold hearted at the end while in normal life they may be opposite happy caring people. And others who have not been good people or made mistakes are willing to self sacrifice and do the right thing when it matters most.

Best thing about growing up in my household is that we've never had any kind of entertainment that includes commercials for as long as I can remember. All of our streaming services have always been commercial free, ad block on all the phones and laptops, commercial free music, etc. And anything that does have built in or unskippable ads, neither me nor my dad would ever use. I have to go out of my way to see trailers for movies, and because of that, if we go to see a movie, I'm almost always going in blind. It's nice not to be spoiled by trailers and commercials.

Cassie, I was excited to see that you got to see this movie tonight. Its a special movie for me but for a weird reason. When it was in theatres I was on vacation and we had a rainy day so outdoor plans for the day were ruined. The group I was with went to the local theatre. Everyone we were with decided to see Cloudy with a chance of Meatballs except for my Uncle and I. We picked this movie. We both loved it!!! The other group was not so impressed with the other movie. My Uncle passed away of cancer not terribly long after that and I think about him every time I watch this movie and the fun we had that afternoon. Fyi, I know you love Harrison Ford movies and I recommend Six days Seven Nights. Its got a Sabrina feel that I know you'd like.

"You got a pretty mouth" is a quote from the movie Deliverance. So is the banjo. I recommend you do NOT watch Deliverance.
Not that scary, as you jump every time there's a jump scare.
Eddie Van Halen was the greatest guitar player ever and formed Van Halen with his brother Alex, Michael Anthony and David Lee Roth. He passed away in October of 2020. Watch a video titled Eruption and you'll learn who Eddie was.

Also for horror movies, watch "The Mist". It has the single most shocking ending in cinema history (along with an amazing soundtrack), so much so that Stephen King (the author of the book which the movie is based on) wished he thought up of the ending himself.

"Dawn of the Dead" George Romero and the remake by Zack Snyder. Both are very good movies.
"Warm Bodies" might be an easier film to take. It's cute and doesn't have as much gore.

I also love this movie as well as Tucker & Dale vs. Evil. Once you've seen enough horror movies to know many of the tropes you need to watch Cabin In the Woods; it also has a lot of gore and jumps, but it is also extremely funny - but in a much more subtle way. If you don't know the tropes you won't find it very funny 😁

As for The Frighteners, it is nowhere near as scary/gross. It is more light hearted and has more of a mystery aspect to it which I LOVED (and put up a video on a while back).
I really love October for Reactions. So many of my favorites showing up on these channels. Some from back in my childhood (80s horror) mixed with lots of newer stuff which has had traction recently.
