They are not outdoor music festivals. She is just busking :) But of course you can call it outdoor music festivals. And I believe it is cause its spontaneous. She just comes on the street, starts singing and who ever is passing stops and listens if he or she wants. Its way more natural than anything you can produce on purpose. Thats why the vibe is better, cause its real. Thats just how I feel it.

This might be the best recording of a solo busking performance ever. Sounds almost like a studio version. Alice has such a great feel for aranging solo tracks that sound as full and complete as if they came from an entire band. What a treasure. Thank you for putting in the effort. Crazy how millions of people can whitness a legend in the making, kicking off her career busking the streets of Berlin.
Her version of Take a Walk on the Wild Side is also a close contender.
She makes you actually listen to the words of songs you always heard before but never really paid attention to the words and meanings.

Holy cow - I knew only the Rolling Stones version all my lifetime, but this young lady shows that this song can be something completly different and truely amazing, incredible to turn this epic tune into a melancholic melodic ballad without leaving the blue notes

Cat Power´s song reminds me of the late 1970's, when the upper level of my high school invited blues musicians from England and the US ... ballads far away from any kind of easy entertainment ! ... this song and the lyrics are special ... it´s like a small parallel universe in music history

That "clichéd" Stones song was the first, the original, the one that started it all -- and anything BUT a cliché at the time it broke. Can't blame the originators for all the imitators that came along to ride the trail that they'd blazed.
Try to imagine the impact of that lightning-strike on the grey world of the postwar 1950s...

Back in the late post war/post food rationing 1950s things were pretty grim and the Beatles & Rolling Stones were a burst of fresh air and sunshine I'm sure. The Beatles She Loves You came out a year before was equally groundbreaking, both way before my time! Fast forward 60 years to this age of over hyped, over sexualised and commercial music, my subjective opinion, listening to APL's existential version really gave me a new appreciation of this song. PJ Harvey & Bjork also did a great version of it for the 1994 Brit awards.

She's so exceptional outdoors with just her voice and a guitar. I listened to her studio produced videos and they were just like everyone else's. Whomever is advising her needs to go. She needs to record her original songs and soulful covers to other songs like this, "Take a Walk on the Wild Side" and "Bang Bang" - just with her fabulous voice and a guitar.

I was just thinking that if I was in a city where she was performing I would stop almost in my tracks to hear her. Some people are too busy or increasingly coldly indifferent, lacking in attention span, etc.

Sometimes music just lives and breathes on it's own without any thoughts of it's future or how it effects anyone or anything. To me , finding a way to express herself , is the only thing that matters. There is something about her that makes me believe that she's out there, in whatever capacity..loving what she's doing whether it brings fame or fortune or not and that's beauty personified.
