Andrea Moda shirt, that's a big thumbs up from me.
I think you're right that Prost deliberately turned in on Senna at Suzuka, but there was a reason.
I'm reading the Senna vs Prost book by Malcolm Folley, and before the 89 Japanese GP Prost had told the McLaren team that he was no longer going to open the door when Senna tried a 'get out of the way or we crash' manoevere.
While it was a very clumsy turn in by Prost, so was Senna's attempted pass, so Prost was just carrying through on what he'd said.
From reading the book, this was just the culmination of months of escalating antipathy between the two.

Nice work MG, I appreciate the effort you've gone to in putting together this summary of one of F1's craziest 'races'.
Thanks goodness there is usually a bit more sense about starting races in the wet since then.
To be fair, the race never should have started in those conditions, Senna and Piquet being so unsighted that they drove into cars is proof of that, as is the fact there were only 8 finishers from a 26 car field - a proper demolition derby.
But still, a great story from F1's rich history, thanks.

14:41 That race showed how good Boutsen was. Especially in the rain. He won two races in that year. All rainraces.

      Yes,
sitting comfortably on your bed or sofa, but what about the life of the pilots, isn't it worth anything?
I think Prost was the only winner in this race.
      It was an absurd race.

If not from here its ironic that it rained as Adelaide is mostly dry .If it does rain it doesn't last. This day was cats and dogs heavy . We had a 82-82 Drought and a 10 year Millennial drought after that,2001-2009 .The rain didn't break until 2010. I had went to the 88 GP. Then it rained again 92 while I was on Honeymoon

Alain Prost was the real f1 champion.
He was right, races like these shoult not start it.
You cannot put life at risk, he did what he said before to start the race. The rest of drivers agree to stop driving, but after 1 lap,
only blah blah, and then they continued running, putting their lives in danger and horrible accidents began
It's not about being a coward, no one would like to lose a parent over a STUPID RACE in those conditions,
INSANE, wake up people...... life is first
Besides, in 1988 Prost score more points than Senna, F1, should recogn, and give 1988 title to Alain Prost.
Because these people now, are obsessed to compare every sport, and select the number 1 on each sport
Its impossible, different decades, different pilots, engines, etc...
Be aware, if you are going to compare best f1 driver,
Prost was much consistent than Senna, he manage to win championship,
we know Senna was faster, but he made many mistakes, and
That race was a nightmare, Im surprise, there were no fatal accidents
Same for Niki Lauda, without that accident, he could won at least 4 titles.. and son on..

It isnt relevant if prost moved over into senna in japan, prost doesnt deny that he did in fact move early to defend the corner, people who are stuck.on that question dont understand racing, senna took the inside SLOWER entry into the corner in order to block prosts exit from that corner in order to gain a place. In other words it was prosts corner and senna invited/ dared prost to crash into him. Senna lost. cry me a river😅

100% Prost deliberately took out Senna in '89. No doubt about it! Prost/Balstere knows what he did, and they took the title away from Ayrton. Senna should have won 4 WDC in a row. Imo Senna is the 🐐

Senna great driver, but not (in my view) a great person.
I'm reading the Senna vs Prost book by Malcolm Folley - Senna comes out as a real diva.

You dont know nothing about f1, how old are you?
Why would Prost have given the chicanne to Senna? because it was your wish?
Do you believe that Senna would have let Prost give that chicane?
Put yourself in Prost's place, he was fed up with Senna, and it was his championship,
Of course he closed it, that was his chicane... there's no doubt about that, but he closed it because of the absurdity of that maneuver.
      1990:
On the other hand, 1990; Senna confessed that he crashed into Prost, on purpose, because of the change of pole, that was not Prost's fault, it was Balestre's.
      1989:
As for 1989, the regulations state very clearly that you can't push the car, the fault was of the race director who should have shown the black flag to Senna, and not created false expectations, but of course, for the audience, it was a show, it was mean spirited, and I recognize that that was playing with Senna's expectations, but the regulations are for all drivers.
Moral: Never forget that it was Prost who sponsored Senna at McLaren, and look how Senna paid Prost.
He didnt respect the agreement not to overtake whoever reaches the first corner, of course, Senna didnt respect the agreement
How would you feel, with a partner of yours who does not respect you??
They were fighting for the title in 1989.
If you look at the trajectory, it is impossible to have taken that chicane.
Prost paid the consequence, to sponsor to Mclaren Honda,
It is like when you invite a snake to your house. If it bites you, do not complain afterwards.
That was Prost's worst mistake, to have brought a snake to McLaren.
On the other hand, if you watch races in 1989, on several occasions, Senna almost pushed Prost into the barriers while being a teammate, and nobody says anything about it..
Senna is the god and Prost the devil in this crazy world.
Most people, I think, never watched that races, is like now, they like Messi, and they think, Messi is the king..
      There are many negative comments.
Nelson Piquet said that Senna was a dirty driver, for a reason he said that...
Senna vetoed several drivers in the Lotus team.
He liked to race alone and who could be happier than to have Berger on his team, a driver who was born to be number one. 2
Do you think Senna would have allowed Schumacher as a teammate at McLaren?
Besides, 1988, by points system, Prost was better than Senna, and that title should go to Prost, so if you're going to compare drivers, Senna fell short...
Finally, 1991, was the worst Ferrari in Formula 1 history
1992; Prost was out for a year, because he didn't have a car that could have won another championship.
Prost raced with Lauda, Piquet, in an era when cars were very unstable while Senna raced alone in 1991 because Ferrari was not competitive and Mansell was constantly making mistakes.
