ME TOO -WHAT A BEAUTIFUL SMILE. This was a great initiative during covid lock down -uplifting. I played 50 years plus mainly on flugel in A grade New Zealand bands but for the past 10 years play in a big band (due to being turned off by contesting) and love big band stuff. However I have taken up listening to the top brass bands again (Black Dyke and Cory in particular). What bands, and their sound is magnificent. British cornet player have a unique sound quite different from NZ cornet players. New Zealand has two outstanding bands -Wellington Brass and North Shore Brass. Wellington played in the British open about 8? years ago played magnificently but still came 11th. I think they would be better now, but it shows the amazing standard in the UK. Please keep inspiring us
This is worth watching just for the wonderful smiles on the face of the virtuoso bell player! I might add, the facial expressions of Philip Harper and Nicholas Childs are also so entertaining to watch. (The playing from the bands is pretty good too!) Superb. Thank you.
Brilliant, really enjoyed that and love both bands. Reminds me of when I used to play that in the marching band and have played it in brass and military bands as well great piece of music 🎶 👌 🙂
Love it 😃😃. I used to play BB flat bass with Frodsham Silver Band in the late seventies and early eighties. The happiest of times. If the conductor didn't turn up, we'd just play Sousa marches for an hour or two.
Only time I ever played with a band I played a bell! It was a college production of the Beggar's Opera, I was stage manager. They didn't have room in the pit for a player, so because I could read music and see the conductor, it was down to me.
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ve just got home after a hard days work (Sydney, Australia) and seen this vid. Crazy times during COVID, but two great bandmasters and two great bands have made my day.
I am in Downton Training Band, and we've been learning this piece, and this video is so inspiring. I can't quite play this at speed yet, but this gives me something to aim for. Love the conductors!
Aye... but remember this is "show conducting" as they aren't really conducting anyone, just waving a stick (and pulling faces!) in their living rooms. So not quite the same as when the band are watching.
I love this young woman with the bell !! Smiling, sparkling and graceful.......

Lov yer darling !
Loving the bell player, tops off a brilliant all round performance!
I love the hammer she's using.😝
Wonderful playing, good to hear That Bell
No it isn't.
Needed a big Monty Python raspberry at the end! 😝
Monty python was bigger than Sousa 😆

Superb. Thank you.
Wonderful, wonderful music! .... plus some mischievous and happy faces! Thank you.
Fantastic March Played by 2 of the UK'S Top Best Brass Bands 🎼🎵🎶🔔
The first conductor has rather close resemblance to Sir Paul McCartney
Brilliant, really enjoyed that and love both bands. Reminds me of when I used to play that in the marching band and have played it in brass and military bands as well great piece of music 🎶 👌 🙂

The synchronisation they had was...🤩🤩🤩🔥🔥🔥
I love that the old Colliery Bands are still thriving! Keep up the good work guys and gals!
Thank you, thank you, thank you. I’ve just got home after a hard days work (Sydney, Australia) and seen this vid. Crazy times during COVID, but two great bandmasters and two great bands have made my day.
first time i heard this ..back in the seventies , simpler times ,awesome performance love the bell lady
Sparkling! Well done & thanks for sharing!
Just wonderful...Well done both bands whilst recording from home. Thank you...
Marvel: Infinity War is the most ambitious crossover
Me: intensely gesting at this video!
Absolutely loved this! 🥰🥰🥰
"I gotta have more liberty bell !" said Bruce Dickinson

Fantastic xx 🎼🎶🎵
That was awesome!
It has taken me a week to discover this and I am disappointed......that I didn’t discover it sooner
HEY UPP ! GREAT STUFF .
Nice playing Tim & John Hammond…. And great Bell Logan!
Absolute Tune!!! well played
And now for something completely different
They are magnificent.
Wow - fantastic!!! Thank you!!!!
Fantastic!
Wonder Full ❤❤❤❤❤
What a combo!!
I need more bell!!!!
Well done guys and gals. Any one that put a thumbs down to this can only be down to jealousy!
Not really. Could be some don't like the dodgy soprano notes or the tinny indoor sound?
Been in banding 50 years//// No band has ever got it out of the library....now Floral Dance? dont get me started.......Lol Brill band xx
Interesting seeing the two conducting styles side by side. I know which one I prefer as a musician
Intriguing comment, as I can't tell which one you're referring to as your preferred style.
Aye... but remember this is "show conducting" as they aren't really conducting anyone, just waving a stick (and pulling faces!) in their living rooms. So not quite the same as when the band are watching.
@@taffexile true. But it's not far off concert or contest conducting from videos on here either.
@@ayrtonhockaday Yeah I'll give you that, fair enough!
Completely agree. Both brilliant musical directors but I just can’t enjoy the one style or conducting no matter how hard I try
Phillip Haroer was having a great time
The Pythons would be proud! Where's the giant foot?
God I love a brass band
Go Logan! :)
It's...
Monty Python's Flying Circus!
Half dissapointed that Emily's elephant 🐘 didn't get to make an appearance 😂😂
But this was in september 2019, maybe she hadn't got the elephant by then :-)
Great performance - Can't help but feel that the Cory Glock player really wanted the Bell part instead though
Trop beau !!!
And now for something completely different...
Besides Nathan Clark, I appear to be the only person in this comment section who is aware of this being the Python theme.
Apart from the other four who've also mentioned it ;-)
Was waiting for a closeup of a giant foot at the end 😂
Great tone, low brass!
love the glockenspiel !!
0:56 pfft!
It''s ironic that the original Liberty Bell is cracked! A terrific march though.
and now, for something completely different.
Shame it won't download
Doesn't seem complete without the giant foot stomp.
the second conductor guy looks like donald trump lmao
is that the triangle player got an upgrade to play the Bell?
And now for something completely different: a marching band with tape recorders up their noses.
IT'S...
Too gentle and civilised; prefer it when it’s more raucous!
Sounds awesome but can't help but notice that the one conductor looks like if Sylvester Stalone and Donald Trump had a kid
And now for something completely different
