I also understand your video was posted years ago so may be that they've changed the instructions since then. For example my instructions say start the cable guard 5" from base of cable hook, not 3.5". Either way your video helped me see the steps!
Just added mine today. Took a while to get the expansion nut tight. Figured out a fix. Add a washer between the insert and washer (gate side). Use large vice grips to now hold the two larger washers. Leave room for wrench to tighten nut. Done. Gives proper pressure and doesn't spin. Additionally, added a washer to end of cable when removing the swivel limiter washer.
When I installed mine I put some clear rtv on the mounting plate to seal it to the truck since there was no paint under the cable mounting bolt. Hate to leave a starting point for rust.

@@4truth69 higher end models do. My tradesman didn't. Had to take the brake light off to install it. Doesn't come down as slow as this though

Yes it's a clear film with yellow backing.
MIne doesnt tighten up.
Tighten nut-sert until it is fully pressed against the tailgate sheet metal. This may take more than 9 rotations.
