Just a few short minutes of watching Springsteen in a concert setting never fails to make one feel alive, and take in the power of music. The River is what I always go back to, and cool history around your Born To Run pressing. Nice, Mark! 😎🎶
Thanks, Ed. The River has a special place in my heart. It was great to see so many people in the audience who were reliving their glory days and singing along.
Nice video and a worthy top 5. I first heard Bruce in 1974, and he was quite popular with the College crowd even then. I was in Jr. High at the time, but I had older friends who ran a college radio station, where I spent a lot of time and even had my own radio show. My favorites are the 2 "Born" LPs, Tunnel of Love and Darkness on the Edge of Town.
Hi Mark - I have tried many times to rank my fav Bruce records. I have found it to be an impossible task. I haven't seen Bruce live since 1984 or 85! No Surrender is one of my favourites Bruce tracks. #1 is a fascinating choice. I bought it when out came out, but it took me a while to really appreciate it🙂
It took me a lot longer than I thought it would to put my list together. I'm still not sure about my first and second choices. It's quite a task to pick from such a large body of amazing artistic work.
I saw Bruce last March and it was fantastic. My 5 fav albums are 5. The Rising 4. The River 3. The Wild the Innocent and the E Street Shuffle 2. Nebraska 1. Darkness on the Edge of Town
I'd also like to mention The Rising and Devils and Dust, which were excellent albums. The concert was fantastic. It's clear that Bruce still has such a passion for performing and that he's not going through the motions.
Born To Run.. Darkness, then The Wild The Innocent & The E Street Shuffle is my number 3 objectively.. But, from my heart, my #1 !!! Bruce is a personal choice if we are gonna rank his great great albums, I do like your ranking a lot ! Nebraska is a brilliant album and Born In The USA is awesome !
I think it's fair to say that Darkness is a fan favorite, and for good reason! Born in the USA will forever be connected to my early teens. There are so many great memories attached to that album.
I think the biggest dislike about Born In The USA are the overplayed tracks, and as a proud American, I love the song Born In The USA !!! Awesome blue collar everyday people anthem, also touching on the complexities and struggles of our great country.. Right on Boss ! ✌
Bruce's solo 12 String open tuning performance of " Born In The USA" really brings out the problems, issues, and struggles we have here at home. It's like a very, very real national anthem in many ways to me and an emotional listen. The draft was discontinued the week that I turned 18 ! ✌️
i grew up in Springsteen country just a stone’s throw from Asbury. was blasphemous to not be a fan of his growing up. but I wasnt…. until i started dating this girl who was big fan. Then I kinda started appreciating him a bit more. saw him live on tour once in 1999. But have also seen him jump on stage at Stone Pony which kinda is a rite of passage in those parts.
I read his book and really related to a lot of what he wrote about his upbringing in a Catholic school and his Italian-American family. It would be great to see him perform in a small club. It’s blasphemous not to be a Bills fan if you grew up in upstate New York. 🙃
That title is definitely up there with my top 10. I have an OG pressing of that gem. I prefer Rage's original, but his interpretation of that song is gorgeous. I hope you’re having a wonderful weekend. I can’t wait to sit down and watch your interview.

Thanks, Jeff. I can see how those first couple of albums would be popular with the college crowd. Great list.
Mark I really enjoyed your ranking and talking about the albums. You should do more of these
Thanks, Steve. I'm glad you enjoyed it. I might do more of these to mix things up a bit, but I can't ignore the singles; I’ve made so much progress.

Darkness On The Edge Of Town is my favorite and Born To Run is number two.
Racing In The Street is my favorite track off of Darkness….

My all time favorite Bruce album is The Ghost of Tom Joad. Nice picks, Mark.

@@mad4vinyl802 It’s not actually an interview yet. It’s some very brief footage of me hanging out with him at my employer during a wine tasting.
I might give my top 5 reasons I couldnt drive to work with the week of shows for his tour in town.
Hop on the bus, Gus
You don't need to discuss much
Just drop off the key, Lee
And get yourself free
