I know nothing about cars, I accidentally watched an episode on last year RV trip and can honestly say the time your family spends together is irreplaceable keep up the positive words and showing them how to deal with set backs. Todays world doesn’t show the negative for fear of offending someone you embrace the set backs as a family and come through stronger on the other side.
I love watching the whole family getting all in. My brother in law use to show me how to change my oil and headlights I could do alot of my own fixes till I got copd. I love your wife ppl still to this day tease me about some of my words to.
I have no idea how you guys drove for 10 hours straight and still had the energy to clean the car afterwards. Long trips absolutely kill me mentally, even if I'm not the one driving. Enjoy your trip guys.
(Mind, I haven't seen the whole video yet. You may be talking about when they just arrived, but I have a point to make:) If you've never driven in an old Station Wagon before, you might be surprised just how *uncomfortable* modern cars often are. This old beast can let you drive, sinking in to the car seats. The suspension is soft enough that when you get out of the car 2 hours later, you feel like you had a refreshing nap. I've driven a 1990 Grand Marquis Wagon long enough to learn that. Also, this car has a wide wheelbase, and the wheels are 15s, so the *tire* absorbs more road feel. And try the steering - it's very easy to turn. Too easy if you're not used to it, actually. You can literally turn the steering wheel with your pinky finger, _and that was common even back to the 60s._
Spent my childhood in an '84 Custom Cruiser wagon and my teenage years in a '92 Buick Roadmaster wagon. Wish they still made gigantic full frame v8 wagons and sedans. They'd haul/pull anything, and just floated down the highway like a living room on wheels.
Yes My 1957 Olds Fiesta wagon was a one family owned since new they were farmers and they pulled hay wagons with it all over the county. It has a large frame mounted receiver hitch on it Powered by a371CID. Rocket engine and a 4 speed Hydromatic transmission they said many times they would pull two hay wagons at a time with on problem at all.
Absolutely, incredible. I was watching today with my 12 year old, daughter. She put down her phone & was watching wimme. The video where Ralphy bought his, jeep. It was, great. I watch them, all.
One final note. While I love the fun you guys get into, don't feel pressured to video your vacation. Vacation is you time. Time off work. Videoing is work. If yall dont post a video for 6 weeks, I will still be here when you get back. I know the algorithm hates it, but Family comes first
I know the trip's probably done, or nearly so, but GOOD LUCK! I'm glad you are taking the fam in a car in good shape rather than risking a half-finished rebuild!
The wagon will be fine mate it's how we all travelled back in the 70s/80s and it was good times Love watching you and your family doing stuff together (even squeeze) You deserve a vacation as you all work real hard to keep us entertained Have a great time and look forward to seeing what you all get up to
Love the station wagon with the moon roof! We felt "uptown" when we got our Oldsmobile station wagon. And back in the day, we would put all seats down and all four of us kids would sleep and play board games. "Stepped up from style to class!" Y'all are the best thing on RUclips. Have a great time out west.
Oh yes, that reminds me. My uncle Bill had an Oldsmobile station wagon. It was a deep maroon in color. He had it in the 80's through to the early 2000's. It was a solid runner. They used it at the farm. Great memories of that one too!
That’s a ‘beaut Clark! 🚙We think that compartment above the glove box is a map holder. 🗺️ Everyone, order your shirts now! Ours came super fast & much softer than the “old” ones. We love all of your content! Thank you Sleeperdude & Fam! ❤️
Nice ride Josh… Yup looks like you scored on that one. The cruise control issue might be as simple as brake pedal sensor. Try holding your foot under the brake pedal and hit some bumps to see if it cuts out. Worth a try. Best of luck with the car and you vacation.
I remember going on vacation with my parents and 2 brothers out to Montana in a 1977 Chevrolet station wagon with the backward facing seat, and now I live in Montana, if you guys make it to great falls, it's fair season
Everyone needs a good station Wagon! I bought my 1957 Oldsmobile Fiesta in 1985 that was sitting in a hay barn since 1969. It had 87,299 miles on it I replaced all the brakes, break lines, shocks and flushed the engine cooling system and re-cored the radiator and heater core. Because it was parked because of an overheating problem. it now has 109,500 miles and runs like new. I will never sell it. You take care of the old Olds wagon and it will serve you well for many years to come.
A) I smiled through this whole video because no joke we had the same one, color and all, growing up and we would drive it from Vermont to Florida every spring break to see family. I spent many miles looking out the back window about the same age Ralphy is. I know exactly the joy he had riding back there. And B, that thing on the dash is a map pocket (atleast that’s what we used it for). We would out the old school AAA trip ticket in there! I’m so excited for this road trip! You may make me go find one myself! ❤❤❤
Just love you guys. Besides great content, the love that you all have is a blessing to see. If all families in America was like this, we wouldn’t be having the issues that we are having. Christ is in your hearts and it shows. Love always
Those older cars were notorious for the cruise control shuting off with a bump, but most of the time it was just the brake switch adjustment being a little too tight. Good luck on your trip and family vacation. When our for kids were home we went on some awsome summer adventures and loved it.
Brings back memories of Dads 61 New Yorker wagon with a 383 and that weird duel carb setup where the intake manifold went over the valve covers and push button automatic. . Thing was 21 feet long with the fins on the back.. The dash was a big glass dome He could stomp the gas doing 50 and burn the casings off.
My parents had the 1959 4-door DeSoto that had huge fins. The trunk was big enough to hold 2 full size ice chests, 5 big Samsonite suitcases and get the spare tire and jack out without unloading anything.
Chrysler Corp called that the astrodome gauge package. Electroluminescent (whatever that means). The first car I ever got to work on when I was 14 was a 62 Chrysler 300 sport. Made it run, and that's as far as I got. But it was pretty rusty. Floors, trunk, brake lines.....all gone. Alot of the dual carb setups were 413ci instead of the 383, single carb setup like mine. After I Made it run, I traded it. and used the money to buy a Caprice classic. But I still wish I had it back.
That "long ram" or "sonoramic" was very rare on a New Yorker and rare on any Mopar wagon. By the way, Nicks Garage has a couple of videos on that induction system where he dyno tunes it and finds that it has even better low end power than anyone guessed.
The holder above the glove box is for holding maps. Before GPS they had these square papers that told you how to get places so when traveling cross country people would put what ever map of whatever state they were driving threw in that holder so it could be pulled out and opened up fast to find your destination. Also keep up the great content! Me and my son love the channel.👍
My older sister used to love to roll me around in the back of our old Ford wagon with the gas and brake pedals! That was in the mid 60’s so that thing wasn’t nearly as slick as that beauty. What a find! Hope the trip went well and looking forward to the next video. Y’all are the best!
My family...5 girls and Momma and Daddy drove a station wagon to and from Cincinnati, Ohio, to the Navajo Reservation near the Grand Canyon to visit my Grandparents... for the first 15 years of my life...until we got a pick up truck with a camper. Those vehicles made for some of the best memories of my life!!!
So glad to hear of your Plan B. You are so correct to buy a Station Wagon for a road trip. Although my stable is full of Ford Crown Victoria wagons an Oldsmobile should do the job quite well. I took my 1987 on an extended road trip to Florida in 1991 via Wilmington, North Carolina to visit U.S.S. North Carolina BB - 55 a World War # 2 battleship. I got 22 mpg with the 87 and it performed flawlessly even in heavy Florida rain storms. I took my 1991 Crown Victoria to Norfolk, Virginia to visit U.S.S. Wisconsin BB - 64 with a side stop in Camden, New Jersey to visit U.S.S. New Jersey BB - 62 in 2002 and got 23 mpg with that one. Most every year since 1988 I have taken one or the other of my wagons towing my 18'-0" Starcraft boat to the Lakes Region of New Hampshire for vacation. Unfortunately no boat trip this year due to a back injury. However I look forward to videos of you and the family on your road trip. May God bless you on your journey.
Memories! I took my driving test for my driver's license in 1975 in a Caprice Station Wagon. As the oldest of 6 kids, that's what I had to learn to drive. I passed the first try! 🤪
On your trip, if you all go through Mississippi, stop at a Walmart and get a case of Nehi peach flavored soda. Not trying to switch you over from RC, just something you might like. May God watch over you and the family on your trip. Hopefully you can make it to California.
I have just stumbled upon your channel. You are amazing, what you are doing is amazing, what you are doing for your kids is even more amazing. I say this from personal experience. I was born in 1995 and I am obsessed with anything 50/60's. We bought a beat up old '67 Triumph Herald in 2011 as my first car at the age of 16 and we restored everything on that vehicle. My dad taught me everything I know about cars and from fitting new pistons and valves to cutting, shutting, welding, filling and finishing bodywork. It inspired my love for the things that others my age would find quirky; spending my weekends putting back together a vehicle 3 times my age whilst my mates were out smoking and drinking. I went on from that to go into engineering and get a 1st class honors degree, from those days in the garage to walking across the podium in my cap and gown, i owe it all to my dad and the love and the things he taught me. I can tell you that those memories you are making with your kids will live with them forever. I watched your other videos with your daughter and her VW type 1 and it came flooding back to me 12 years later - the excitement of getting the car home, that look on her face when you got it to turn over for the first time is the look my dad said he remembers the most on me and the look that made it all worth it. This year I purchased another 1967 Triumph Herald, now being 28 and all independent, because I want to do it again and give it a go myself 10 years after we finished the last one. When I look at my 'new' Herald its a little reminder how much my parents did for me; money is the least valuable thing I think a child could ever get. Keep doing what you are doing, I have the absolute most respect for you and your family! You've earned yourself the more sincere sub I have ever given - much love from across the pond in the U.K. :)
@@Sleeperdude thank you. It is just so amazing to see kids getting a opportunity to have the same experiences that I had. My dad is my hero and always will be. Nothing like seeing hard work come together!
Tosh used that southern charm on the game warden. How could you get a ticket after she honey potted him. So funny😂. God bless guys. Can’t wait to see the trip.
Love to see the UK logo make an appearance. That would be a fun school for WaWa to go to. Love your show, I'm a Kentuckian living in Idaho and get a little taste of home when I hear y'all's voices. God bless!
I just love the commitment the kids put in on every project no matter what's needed. Many hands make light work of anything plus knowledge is powerful.Great work guys. Greetings from sth Australia 🇦🇺 👍
That wagon is SUCH A COOL PLAN B!!! I'm SO HAPPY you found it and it is in such awesome condition. You guys deserve a nice Vacation, so ENJOY it! Don't make it a working vacation where you feel like we have to be a part of all of it. Take the time to enjoy your family and you all have a great time! BE SAFE and we will see you when you get back,
Love the new wagon! In my state of California, when you purchase a vehicle from a private party, you have ten days to get it registered in your name , so getting a ticket is no worry within that time period, so long as you can provide documentation of the date purchased, to the officer that pulled you over.
Yes she reminds me of that cartoon king-of-the-hill with the character on the show Boomhauer you can understand a word once in awhile but the show is still great to watch
I just love to see Vienna's new dainty table manners. She'll be off to finishing school any day now. Love you dudes as much as a 5.7L Hog Leg over a bubble top. Keep up the great work and the great content. Cheers from Canada.
Just taking a second to point out how good these kids are. When I was a kid, even 200 miles in a car drove me cray cray. I don't know how my parents didn't stuff me out the window sometimes. Of course, we never had interesting cars to make it an adventure..
Oh boy! I'm more giddier than a kid in a candy store. I can't wait to experience the trip thru you guys. I'm disabled and can't travel but I'm so thankful for all of you. I pray that God keeps you safe and I hope you all enjoy the trip because y'all deserve it. Thanks guys❤😊
There was five of us little brats tagging along with mom & dad on all our vacations from the 50's through the 70's. We were a Chevrolet family with our first factory new car being a 1955 Chevrolet Station Wagon! As soon as they made a nine passenger one with the seat facing the rear, we had to get one (in the early 60's). From then on all the way through the 70's we always had the nine passenger model. We all would fight over that facing backwards rear seat! I truly loved those cars! Sure brings back great memories seeing the Sleeperdude Family in one. And you got the grandaddy fanciest one of all. The Buick Roadmaster Vista Cruiser!!!! That was just a little to steep for our blue collar family style. But I sure remember drooling over the thought of having one. Of course, we did have an Uncle that had one! Didn't everybody!? This is just Too Cool!
Spent my early childhood in a 1976 Caprice Estate Wagon. That thing was a boat! My brother and I would play Hide and Go Seek in the back! I do remember that it had a cooling issue and it would always puke coolant after pulling the camper trailer. Good times!
My wife drives the same way , she can’t stand for anyone to be in front of her. She also believes her breaks can never fail so she waits to the last minute to use them. I try to fall a sleep on trips so I don’t have to see it. Love your videos and your family.
I love wagons. Growing up we had opels, a 69 2d Chev, and a 75 buick w/a 455 (it was owned by the Tucson pd as an interceptor. Grandma had a 76 pontiac w a 400/400 and a towing package. She would hook up the camper and take us on adventures every summer. ❤U Guys and Travel mercies.
I hope you all had a great and marvelous holiday. The wagon looks like it will be super comfortable and perform flawlessly. This has got to be the only vehicle where you really only had to do standard pre-trip stuff to!! Look forward to seeing the holiday video/videos.
I'm so glad you guys are finally getting to go on your trip. I pray you have a safe, wonderful vacation. The car is amazing. I love it I love your shirts. When things settle down in your merchandise dept I'd love to see a shirt with "Impeccable" on it 😁
My cousins husband owns a garage and he had an old lady so sweet and she brought her car into be worked on and had a paper towel holder screwed under the dash and he asked her why, she said she had to keep her window clean when it was cold and frosted or condensation, anyway, she didn’t know it had a defroster, bless her heart so he showed her how to use it. ♥️🥰♥️🙏🏼♥️❣️❣️
You guys have hit it out of the park once again, and your kids are just great. [gotta be a RUclips kids of the year award ] Momma needs to write a book on parenting, because the proof is right there. That trip back, im sure many of us where chewing our fingers hoping and wishing for a smooth ride home, [well except for that Pass rear ] glad to see it ended well. Always a treat to watch another video of your families adventures,, Thank you all. Al in Surrey B.C. Canada.
I hate that y’all couldn’t get the RV running for your trip. Y’all will be able to get it going for a trip in the future. I’m with y’all about a station wagon.
Had a 12 foot rowboat that we used to fit in the back of my dad's Ford Galaxy Wagon. Riding in the back seat shots remind me of me and my brother riding in the bakc facing backwards to visit my Grandpa just about every weekend, Our nextdoor neighbor had everything covered in clear plasitc in her living room, including rug runners...
Plan B at full throttle!! Sounds like the perfect trip! And we know Momma is gonna be making up for lost time for sure. She'll have all y'all back on schedule like y'all left three days early!! So glad y'all were able to figure out an alternative to the Mini, and make it an adventure nonetheless. Have safe travels and can't wait to see the road trip vids.
Great car! Hope it worked out for you on the trip. I think you'll need to do a couple of successful weekend trips with the mini-winney before taking it cross country.
@@BariLopesh That's your opinion, others may love it, If you don't have anything nice to say then don't say it at all. No one cares what you think , you have a problem , then email the company not this mans channel.
I am Soooo, Happy to see a RV video. Im invested in the series. I watch all your videos multiple times. It was a total bummer when the computer decided to cause issues. I was really hoping to see this years trip in the camper since you all put so much work and time into it. However I'm glad you were able to find another meaningful way to travel this year in the wagon. Im looking forward to watching the upcoming videos. I know you will get the Mini Winnie going soon and i hope we get to see you travel somewhere in it like burnout competitions or something. Safe travels and positive vibes to the family. Have fun! 🎉
Our family of 6 cruised America every summer in a 1966 Ford Country Sedan! Those were the days! When my brother turned 16 he put mags and big tires on the back. Then it was our lawn mowing work car!
Now thats a station wagon! I remember those from a day or so ago 😂😂 Congratulations on opening your own Sleeperdude store.. dunno if yall have it next week when i got a dollar, I’m into getting mine 😊 i have to advertise 😂😂😂 No really i just want some merch.
I live in North GA. Just retired, thank God I don't have to deal with Atlanta traffic anymore unless for some crazy reason I need to go downtown. Imagine living here and dealing with it everyday! I live NE about 55 miles, but it seems to be getting worse here too! Damn good economy!
I have friend in Atl. I love them, but hate the drive! But I just visited Helen, GA, and that was a really nice drive! Nice, low rolling pasture lands. Really pretty in the Spring!
Every time I drive through a big city I see motorcycles and think “those guys are crazy” I ride but live in Alaska and our “big city traffic” isn’t bad at all compared to down south.
Sweet ride! I owned a 1967 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser. I loved that car. It had the high compression 330 CI 320HP 4 barrel. It was definitely a sleeper. Years later I got my hands on a 1978 high performance Oldsmobile Rocket 350 with stainless steel exhaust herders. I pulled it from a 1978 Oldsmobile 98 & it cost me $100.00. I dragged it150 feet over rocks at a u-pull-it on an engine hoist. I dropped it into a 54" stretched Cadillac Limo. Yup, another sleeper. Watching you brings back all those memories.
This brings so many family memories. We bought a new '92 Buick Century wagon as our family car when our twins were 7 years old. Couldn't afford the full size wagon land yacht. The kids lived in the rear facing third seat. On the first trip we took I realized that all the truckers were honking from the kids doing the same thing Ralphy and Wa-Wa were doing. That wagon hauled so many kids on youth group trips, school sports trips, etc. They all wanted to ride in "Drew and Lydia's dad's car" because of the third seat. That car hauled each of our kids back and forth to college beginning in 2003. Upon their college graduations in 2007 (and no more tuition payments!), we replaced it with a new 2007 NIssan Altima "mommy and daddy" car. Ended up giving the old wagon to a fireman friend.

With the LT1 motor I drove a I believe 94 Roadmaster from Washington State to Michigan with over 370K miles ran fine no issues no shimmies no shakes no knocking no pinging no sputtering, keep up on the basic maintenance it will last 500k plus
Great video. Nice wagon. When i was a teen, my family took vacations in a 76 Ford Grand Torino station wagon, copper colored. This was back in the early 70's,so it was legal to ride in the back unrestrained. My dad pulled a 24 foot camper up and down Pikes Peak. The hitch broke on the way down. It did hold until he found a welder. So much fun.
Going down the road in my Merry Olds. It's such a thrill sending chills up my toes. Love the wagon, my first car was a 1965 Ford Galaxy County Squirer with a 289 engine. I was seventeen and I drove it all summer until the engine died. That was back in 1973. That old wagon had over 100,000 miles and I only paid $100.00 for it. Back then when a car had that many miles it was only a matter of time before the engine would die. I took it to the Junkyard and got $30.00 for it. Man those where the days having fun with your friends and not a care in the world.
You guys are the best, every one of you. Y'all have something very unique as individuals, however, it's the family unit that really shines... you are the epitome of Family!!!
My mom told me that my then middle age sister "wanted a bigger wagon with, what's that engine you always want?" "A diesel?" "No...." "A Hemi!?" I have been looking for a good deal on a Dodge Magnum station wagon, with a Hemi for her. Not many out there.
Hey now, that is one sweet new ride for the trip! I'm not from the US, but I'm a fan of American car culture, and thus your channel, and I have always been a fan of the station wagon - it's a very distinctly American car form factor. It's particularly cool to see that you got a wagon that has reached the zenith of it's development (read: near perfected). I have to say that the space that opens up when you lay down the seats is astonishing. I really hope the vacation goes well, can't wait for updates! The fact that you got the whole family to wear the same shirt for the trip, particularly the teenager, speaks volumes about how great parents you both are. Most other teens would no doubt not do anything that might associate themselves with their parents, but Wawa seems justly proud to be part of the whole family. All of the kids are super cool and super smart as well 🙂 Oh well, next week's episode will answer the burning questions: Who will be in the rear seat; what trouble will they get up to; and, how long before the car needs its first adjustment (I don't believe there will any major issues as it's a very solidly built unit, but it will need some things tightened up I'm sure). All the best to all of you! Edit: Just came back to show you the perfect camper for your future trips. See the first one in this video, it's completely insane 😄: ruclips.net/video/cojaWgcf-7A/видео.html
Nothing like an Olds. Started with the folks 53 88- my first 68 cutlas and now my 98 intrigue. It had 11852 miles and just turned 131000 today. My grandpa had a 48 4dr. Enjoy your trip.
Have fun on your trip. The station wagon brings back memories. We had a 1979 LTD Brougham . Took a couple of trips across the US in them , just in time for the gasoline crunch! My Dad sold it to his boss after the trips. It was a 'champaign' color, with the flip up headlights, folding back seats, seems to me they were sideways. Drove through SanFrancisco & saw some interesting 'couples' there, amongst other things on the trips. Memories, that car was reliable & very cool at the time.
1970 Olds Vista Cruiser Baby! Never saw a car so cool as to have those panoramic windows around the roof. It reminded me of the Greyhound Scenicruisers.
I've always had a thing for Oldsmobiles. My first and second cars were Olds. I've never owned a station wagon, but always wanted one. They were good cars, for many many years. It's too bad they aren't made any more. I hope it's as reliable for you as mine have been for me. All the best to you and your family.
Hey, about your air suspension... I heard the compressor running a lot...take a wheel Schrader valve and some fuel line hose clamps with you on your trip. If the air bags are OK and the leak is in the lines or compressor you can cut the line close to the air bags (or shocks), cut the rubber off the Schrader valve and clamp it into the line. Then you can manually put air in to make the suspension work. I've done this twice. Gets you home. Enjoy your trip!
Went for many a trip in the new 65 Chevy station wagon when we were kids, all over Texas. Pretty amazing. No phones, paper maps and basically my dad and mom knew where we were going because they looked at maps before we left and in the motel when we got there. Then while we(the kids) were in the pool and they were having a cocktail sitting by the pool, watching us. Just total trust in the car and that we would get there. Great memories. Thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to see the trip.
Sweet OCC! A few years ago, I flew from Houston, TX to Wichita, KS and bought a 96 Roadmaster wagon sight unseen and drove it straight to Tucson, AZ for Roadkill's Zip Tie Drags. In the few years that I owned it, I made trips from the Houston area to Kansas, Arizona, and Florida. I loved that car! I sold it to a friend in town last fall.
Awesome car you will love it. I have a white one for my daily.. Bolt on a big trailer hitch, it will haul the same as a half ton pick up. Then you can fill it up people or parts and lock it up and not worry about stuff in the back... It will even hold a full sheet of plywood with the hatch closed... Love mine...
I love this family, reminds me of the good time with my dad. Now my dad is getting up there in years and the dementia has taken some of his mind but he's still hang in there with us and its my turn to take care of him.
PDR/Paintless dent repair, Clay bar - with undiluted dish washing liquid/lubricant ,wash and then a ceramic finish - NU Finish makes a good one. Love the color on this wagon blue professional and happy and Comfortable seats back when comfort was prioritized over keeping you locked in motionless behind the airbag
Loved the vid! Still waiting on an AMC Pacer X restore video! :) When I was a kid, we took vacation trips in a 1973 Oldsmobile Custom Cruiser wagon with all of the options including the "455 Rocket" engine! Woohoo! I miss doing donuts in snowy parking lots in that wagon...
You don't see many of them on the road anymore! Great find! I remember the last stationwagon my parents had in 70's a 1969 Buick wagon like Olds Vista cruiser with glass over back seat! My youngest sister and I road back there on summer vacations! Hope you have a great vacation!
I had a 1996 Roadmaster wagon. It was off-white with wood grain sides and peanut butter leather interior. Mine had the LT1 like the Camaros had. The mufflers were trash so I replaced them with glasspack mufflers. It sounded amazing! Those rear diffs are a little picky about the lube they get. Mine had been previously serviced by a local jack-leg mechanic. I had to change the gear oil 3 times to get the clutches to quit chattering. I ran stock steelies with baby moons and beauty rings on 3" white walls. I hope to find another some day. I'd like to convert one to a 5 speed! Safe Travels!
That wagon truly is Impeccable 👍🏻 I was looking at buying one a few years ago and couldn’t find a decent one. Still occasionally look for one. But most were way too far to go look at. Examples like this are like a unicorn, and are costly. Such a nice find. The kids did a great job getting her cleaned up. Best of luck on your trip, I don’t think you’ll have any issues 👍🏻💪🏻🤞🏻
The first car I remember my Mom having was a 1971 Chevrolet Kingswood station wagon, with 400 c.i. engine and a 350 turbo transmission. It was the first car she ever bought new. I remember my older sister trying to learn how to drive in it, she made it all the home from my grandmothers on a stormy day, and hit the gas instead of the break and took the corner of the detached garage out knocking it to the ground. By the way the garage was made out of cinder blocks.
My 1st car was 67 Bel-Air Chevy wagon ,327 4 barrel , elderly man bought it brand new I got it in 1981 .it done burn outs great , BARELY had 50.000 miles on it .I called it my dragging wagon.loved that car ❤Traded it later on for a 70 Chevy truck ❤️ then moved on to cutlasses ,70,77,78,79.Then a 77 grand prix ,77 Camaro 78 Pontiac firebird,85 monte Carlo,85 Chevy truck ,80,s ford Fairmont ,75 Chevy truck ,1991 Chevy short van ,2000 GMC truck ,now I have A 2001 Ford explorer .I'm a gear head too lol 5 brothers to grow up .😆Wawa reminds me of me growing up getting greasy .I'm 60 now and love all the projects y'all have done .I love all the older vehicles.❤

It's a great car! So sorry for your loss of your mom.
I think that compartment (above glove box) is a map pocket. Maps are those foldable paper-based GPS systems we used to use..
Came here to say this!
I think so too....and paperclips and crayons and matches and Certs. 😆
I think the MAP is a sensor on the intake manifold.

I sure hope so thank you
I love watching the whole family getting all in. My brother in law use to show me how to change my oil and headlights I could do alot of my own fixes till I got copd. I love your wife ppl still to this day tease me about some of my words to.
Good kids. Cause good parents. New to channel. Idk what a casing is till this one. Unless it was for a sausage. But a tire. ? Ok. Why not.
It really is a shame they don't make wagons and full-sized cars anymore. Hope you guys have a fun trip!
Good times!
@@Sleeperdude Stop deleting my comments about how terrible groove life are.
the last wagon i think was the Magnum then all company's stopped
That was my last wagon and actually my first wagon. 84 custom cruiser!
I adore the connection your entire family has. Your kids will look up to you two for their entire lives, y'all are incredible 💜
The wagon will be fine mate it's how we all travelled back in the 70s/80s and it was good times
Love watching you and your family doing stuff together (even squeeze)
You deserve a vacation as you all work real hard to keep us entertained
Have a great time and look forward to seeing what you all get up to
Ralphie is going to love station wagons for the rest of his life... In another few years he'll be cruising in his own.
Don't forget about the Corvette

Love the station wagon with the moon roof! We felt "uptown" when we got our Oldsmobile station wagon. And back in the day, we would put all seats down and all four of us kids would sleep and play board games. "Stepped up from style to class!" Y'all are the best thing on RUclips. Have a great time out west.
Yes!!

I'm from Aiken S.C. and I still have family there. I live in Florida now. Enjoy your channel!!!
Nice ride Josh… Yup looks like you scored on that one.
The cruise control issue might be as simple as brake pedal sensor. Try holding your foot under the brake pedal and hit some bumps to see if it cuts out. Worth a try. Best of luck with the car and you vacation.
I love your videos. You done a wonderful job on this one. I had a 1966 nova wagon,327-350hp. Let it go when son went to college.
I remember going on vacation with my parents and 2 brothers out to Montana in a 1977 Chevrolet station wagon with the backward facing seat, and now I live in Montana, if you guys make it to great falls, it's fair season
That’s awesome
The Ford Taurus and Mercury Sable still had a backward having 3rd row until they stopped being made.. 2004ish.
Thank you I sure hope so
A) I smiled through this whole video because no joke we had the same one, color and all, growing up and we would drive it from Vermont to Florida every spring break to see family.
Love always
Thank you
Those older cars were notorious for the cruise control shuting off with a bump, but most of the time it was just the brake switch adjustment being a little too tight. Good luck on your trip and family vacation. When our for kids were home we went on some awsome summer adventures and loved it.
Awesome thank you
Brings back memories of Dads 61 New Yorker wagon with a 383 and that weird duel carb setup where the intake manifold went over the valve covers and push button automatic.
I love the 61 Chyslers and DeSotos.
An Oldsmobile and a station wagon doesn't get much better than that.
Its everything you could ever want :)
Those paper jobs used to be free at any gas station, as well!
Thank you so much
Memories! I took my driving test for my driver's license in 1975 in a Caprice Station Wagon. As the oldest of 6 kids, that's what I had to learn to drive. I passed the first try! 🤪
Yes!! That’s awesome
I'm pretty sure that is a safety feature so if you fall asleep and run off the road it will automatically kill the cruise
Had a 77 thunderbird that would shut the cruise off when the left blinker was turned on.
I think the brake switch is just a little closer than it should be. the bump makes the pedal bounce the switch open/closed, shutting off cruise.

Hey welcome aboard!!! Thanks so much I hope they enjoy it as much as I do..

In my state of California, when you purchase a vehicle from a private party, you have ten days to get it registered in your name , so getting a ticket is no worry within that time period, so long as you can provide documentation of the date purchased, to the officer that pulled you over.

Good times!

Crazy crazy traffic
I have friend in Atl. I love them, but hate the drive! But I just visited Helen, GA, and that was a really nice drive! Nice, low rolling pasture lands. Really pretty in the Spring!
Every time I drive through a big city I see motorcycles and think “those guys are crazy” I ride but live in Alaska and our “big city traffic” isn’t bad at all compared to down south.
Nice
Can't wait to watch. I had a 95 road master. You are bringing back lots of memories

Love your channel!!!
Do you even know how long I've wanted a station wagon?
My mom told me that my then middle age sister "wanted a bigger wagon with, what's that engine you always want?" "A diesel?" "No...." "A Hemi!?"
I have been looking for a good deal on a Dodge Magnum station wagon, with a Hemi for her.
All of the kids are super cool and super smart as well 🙂
Oh well, next week's episode will answer the burning questions: Who will be in the rear seat; what trouble will they get up to; and, how long before the car needs its first adjustment (I don't believe there will any major issues as it's a very solidly built unit, but it will need some things tightened up I'm sure).
Yeah, my 85 Crown Victoria wagon had sideways facing seats in the back. The two riders faced each other instead of rear facing.

Then
you can fill it up people or parts and lock it up and not worry about stuff in the back... It will even hold a full sheet of plywood with the hatch closed... Love mine...
Praying for safe travels and lots of great fun! Thanks for taking me along! 👍👊🙌
I absolutely love this channel! The Olds wagon is the bomb and I hope you have a wonderful vacation with zero issues! God bless 🙏
Yes they are cool
Thank you so much
The first car I remember my Mom having was a 1971 Chevrolet Kingswood station wagon, with 400 c.i. engine and a 350 turbo transmission.
