Disney Channel is Gone Around The World (Outside of America)

- Опубликовано: 20 окт 2024
- Disney Channel just shut down in more places around the world. The same network that brought us Gravity Falls, Amphibia, The Owl House, and The Ghost & Molly McGee, will no longer be available in many countries outside of America. What's going on with Disney Channel's shutdown?
Disney is taking a new strategy with their content on TV. Southeast Asia Disney Channels are officially gone, with others around the world following close behind. New episodes of The Owl House, Amphibia, Big City Greens, The Ghost & Molly McGee and more will have a primary home on Disney Plus for everyone. While the USA Disney Channel is still up and running, it will likely end within the next few years as the company switches over to streaming.

Companies really need to add channel services on streaming services, where you can watch a cable-like channel on a streaming service so you don’t have to choose, kinda like a random playlist but more specific. Imagine watching a 2000’s era Cartoon Network streamline on HBO Max, that would hit nostalgia so hard.
yeah, something like those Spotify playlists
I'll post this again (even though this had been posted 5 days ago) because RUclips deleted it for some ludicrous reason even though there is nothing objectionable about it.
Old comment starts now:
They do already on some apps such as the CN app or the Disney Now App where you could watch live TV if you only have a phone or a streaming device in your room. You need a cable or satellite subscription for those though. Another way is, for example, watching live TV on Hulu but that's somewhat more expensive than cable but I could be wrong.
And if you want it to be live it can you just press live and see the actual shows on the channel

I’m really gonna miss the era of television. I think it would be cool if Disney+ had a live feature so it could kinda resemble cable, and a feature where you can watch a specific day in time and watch exactly what they showed that day. I don’t know if hey have the archives for that, but it would be really cool to have a bite from the past. 💖
Honestly, I’d be down for that. But I think that they’ll also use it in a “very broken and perfectly unbalanced” way.
Like, for example, a show that everybody hates and nobody wants to watch. Disney could cheat the system by letting people use the “live” feature on D+, put that show in the que, and then be like: “Oh, hey! Guess what people watched a lot! That’s right, that shitty show nobody wanted to watch!”
But wouldn’t it cost more?
SEND THAT FEEDBACK TO DISNEY+ ASAP LIKE WHAT I DID. IT HELPS VERY MUCH
Same i would just let the tv run and not even pay attention too it
Honestly, the reason I sometimes prefer live over streaming is that I don't have to decide which of thousands of shows to watch, there is a more limited selection of stuff to watch, and I can just find something I'm interested in, and hop in. With streaming it feels a bit more overwhelming, basically, it's like: this looks good, but maybe I should start with this, ooh but this looks better, ooh and it even has this, but I've seen that 20 times already, uuh, ugh this one looks dumb, and uhhh... (turns off TV) there is nothing to watch.
EDIT: Thanks for the heart, Vailskibum!
EDIT2: it's gone? What happened?
Same. I must have watched the entirety of HIMYM at least 35 times or so just because I don't wanna spend hours looking for something to watch. Though I also use it for background noise a lot.
Same like me.

Streaming still isn’t good enough, and next thing you know, ads will be played in between episodes. So basically the streaming sources are looking to bypass government regulations.

But paying entire packages just for a few channels isn't ideal.
I don't know anybody my age that has cable. the model of "you pay x amount of money for y channels even though you only care about a few of them" is terrible. I only think it'd be remotely worth it if you REALLY like live sports, and even that's starting to be pretty well covered by streaming

Both Nickelodeon and Cartoon Network are laughing their butts off right now.
WHAT AM I GONNA WATCH AT 5AM IN THE MORNING NOW
Glad I tuned in more on those channels in recent years than the latter.😉
Lol, they're probably boasting about their channels being successful again 💀
@@YakkoWarnerTower They'll be gone in due time as well. Cable as a whole is disappearing.
cartoon network usa shut down în usa 2024
I don't miss cable, I've only ever seen a full season of a show from online. On tv, they seem to skip certain episodes while replaying the ones you've seen at least ten times. In a row.
R.I.P Disney channel. You will be missed.
Us from Asia got the short end of the stick. I will miss my previous times tuning in to Phineas and Ferb every 6am or 6pm, even though I like or dislike it. Thanks to the Disney Channel re-airing Across the 2nd Dimesion for one final time in Sept. 29th, it just lingers me back to my thought of making an AU of Perry, Phineas, Ferb, and Candace created their independent secret service for only the times of serious danger.(Geez Dan and Jeff, you should have end it there if you don't have plans on a theatrical film, Last Day of Summer is a disappointment.🙄)
Last year kick buttowski was removed from Disney. And I thought this year it would come back after a year but no. It's even worse
And oh btw it was one of my fav show in Disney channel
I have never forgotten Kick Buttowski, nor Supa Strikas
Disney channel it was my favourite childhood TV show and did you guys remembers name shows "house of mouse" is my favourite shows when back in 2009 or 2010 i think? sorry i don't remembers when "house of mouse" release 🙏
*That hit even harder because SVTFOE was my #1 fav disney show :(*
I saw the shutdown of Disney Channel Asia right here in the Philippines. Star vs. The Forces of Evil with its episodes "Star vs. Echo Creek/Wand to Wand" were the last ones to air on it before signing off at 1 am (GMT +8) of October 1.
Dang lucky for you I had to sleep somewhere at 9pm.
"Nothing captures the feeling of watching a world premiere for the very first time."
The Ninjago Fandom: Now that's a feeling we haven't felt in a long time.
I can relate. Curse you CN and your biased airing schedule. 😤
@@benraven9087 Filled with TTG and GUMBALL 24/7
It’s sad that I had to watch seabound finale on RUclips
My tears kept on pausing it
Relatable
@@SilverBellYTofficial honestly I would've prefer to watch Gumball than ttg.
The other thing that is sad is that it will be harder to find entertainment in other languages. For example, there is a portuguese show called Pàixao (living passion) and ever since the show on the portuguese channel ended, i haven’t been able to watch it online. Especially for people in America with broken english, the transition will be hard for them
agreed! there's tons of Disney's Hindi programs that aren't on Disney+ either, especially their old sitcoms and few animated originals.
How TV will be in 50 years: no emotion, no identity, no staying up late to watch the new episodes, nothing
Wrong, there would be still nothing but showing infomercials, flexing their crappy products all day.
At least Disney Channel Asia ended with a reminder that it's over rather than what happened to Disney XD.
In the UK we have been suffering for a year
Goodbye Disney Channel. You had a good run.
I honestly don't like streaming services to be frank. I love just flipping through the TV or guide if seeing a surprise of what could be on right now or which one of my favorite episodes of something is playing.
Finally, someone who gets it! I'm not letting the streaming people change my way to watch TV! 📺
@@pblo702 Yeah!!! Us against the norm 👊
Omg i thought i was the only one 😭😭 i dont like streaming services i want a tv that'll surprised me and make me watch shows I'd never knew i wanted
Searching what shows or movies to watch is boring i want someone to pick it for me i want it to surprise me
@@Closse right!!! I've seen movies I haven't even thought of watching!
I remember when the end of Saturday morning cartoons was a big deal. Eventually cable itself will be a thing of the past. Crazy to even think about.
Me going into the video while Disney channel was playing on my TV: “Excuse me?”
Not the only one XD
People around the world: Watching their Disney Channel afternoon as always
Disney Channel: *Your free trial of on air entertainment has expired, thank you for watching*
Wasn't really a free trial when you pay for cable too
@@Bradon_Ray Yea, my mom wasted too much money on a cable :/
It happened at midnight though.
Disney Channel: *shuts down*
Nick and Cartoon Network: *chuckles We're in danger!*
If they end Disney Channel/XD as a whole with the last episode of Phineas and Ferb with Phineas waving to the camera I’m gonna cry for hours.
It didn't for us. Just hope those in the US can have AT2D as the last thing to air at midnight before its cessation.
So is Disney XD going to be the first one to go or Disney Junior will be the first one to go
Disney Junior and Disney Channel and the only ones alive here in Spain. What about Disney XD, you ask me? Yeaaaaah…. _I’m in deep danger_
It’s hard to actually see the things we grew up on disappear so fast
It's funny because in some parts of asia they still can't get Disney+, so they have no way of legally watching disney now
Unless they have DVDs or something
Why does it Hurt More when star literally sings The last Song for Disney channel
Rip Disney channel you Will Be remembered
I feel kind of neutral about streaming. Yes it’s more convenient and you don’t have millions of ads like you do on cable tv, but it’s just not the same as what I grew up with.
Maybe, but there's also the issue of paying for entire packages when you only watch a few channels.
@@RYMAN1321 So get a package with less channels?
@@VeeTHis Would like to but most cable packages are quite large.
i sometimes dont understand what happens around the world, because here in portugal Toys r us still exist and cartoons and other series are still up in here so im good
Glad to see someone has a good sense of humor ending the channel on star saying I think I could really call this place home
You know what they say, "Death is a natural part of life" or "Death is not the end", but what a way to go, Disney. 🤦♂️
Man, i Wish Disney Never Done Shutting Down Their International Channels, Maybe They Could "instead"
Just Shut Down *Disney Junior & Disney XD* And Launched Disney Junior On Disney Channel, With All Disney XD Shows Move To The Main Network.
Then The Traditional Pay TV Of Disney (Via Satellite And Cable) Will Live On Forever.
October was meant to be scary!
Not a nightmare!
This is not spooky it’s a scary

Sitting down with my family at certain times, awaiting the scheduled episode of one of our favorite Disney shows, is a special that streaming services can't give me. I'd say I hope that Disney would understand that, but clearly they wouldn't. Not when they have their wonderful *DISNEY PLUS!!*
And by the way, do they even give you a WARNING before Disney Channel gets cut off from your service?
Imagine if Disney Channel played the last episode of Phineas and Ferb before they shut down.
O7, good by childhood. First Disney XD, and now the Disney Channel. RIP a homie.
XD is like the Nicktoons equivalent, the one no one watches.
Both will probably be fully gone in due time.
As a Filipino-American living in the US, I'm lucky. But hopefully, the original US channel, and some other channels internationally (like in Latin America, Brazil, Japan, France, Germany, Netherlands, and others) wouldn't shut down.
Yea I’m in the US also and Disney still here so it must be just some places and not all.
Im not :(
(Disney do not work for me)
@@HoneysQueens Mine is but I think that's because our country's cable's connected to the Us=S
Me too, so glad that it’s on the US. But not glad that was shut down on around the world
The UK shut down Disney Channel and Disney XD last Fall.
0:45 Star: I really think that I can call this place~ home!
Disney: well yes but actually no.
This is why me and many others rely on Disney + for weekly airings of these episodes. Yet they barely care about their animated shows. The owl house is meant to have the first few episodes of season 2 BUT it’s still missing (in Australia at least). Big city greens is missing the middle third of season 2. Amphibia season 2 came a month after the entire season had finished, and even longer since it was two weeks late from the deadline. All the best animated shows are coming to an end including Owl House which is canceled. Disney cares so little about their animated shows it’s disgusting. The owl house only needed 3 seasons yet Disney cut them short of that. Disney gives every other show the weekly treatment, so what’s wrong here. This is truly a dark day for Disney animation as anyone but the US must painfully wait to watch the shows they love
Pls tell me if you guys have these issues I’ve listed above. If you do leave feedback on the Disney + help centre in the slight hope that it does something
Doreamon have been missing an entire season so do shinchan.
Especially when Bluey is dominating Disney Junior. I’m 12 but I’m a little childish. In fact, my family is paying $75/mo just to watch Univision and CNN in Spanish. So I have to enjoy Disney Junior with blue bitch around
