- In this video we go on a quick tour of my recent cameo 'micro layout' Pont Dulas in British N gauge (1/148 scale). I recently did a video (Quiet Between Trains) that introduced the 'why' behind this project - however, in this companion video I take a more traditional approach and talk about craft and composition.

Thats a very nice little scene! love it!
Thank you very much!
Imagine what a large layout would look like if it were done to this standard! Excellent work. Liked and Subbed! Cheers, Andy
Thanks Andy, take a look at some of my other work, and my blog, to see slightly larger creations.
Nice to see the Warship Class diesel in N Gauge!!
Yes it’s a lovely model
I’m having my loft converted to a big layout room. In it will be a layout depicting the heritage railway at which I volunteered until my retirement last September.
Enjoy!
Yes, I do have a layout at home. It’s an 00 gauge Dad’s Army layout that I bought from my local motel railway club. My son and I have turned it completely digital from locomotives to points.
Sounds like you will have a lot of fun with it
And what a beautiful scene it is!! Pont Dules is certainly a lovely location.
Thank you
Ten minutes in to watching this, and I'm still finding things to look at! Feels so much larger than it is... Much food for thought there, thank you James.
My pleasure Geoff, thank you very kind. Yes it’s a funny little box, a true tardis.
I'd say well done old bean, looks well! - lots to be said for having several diorama layouts for shunting, I always wanna change so, it's nice to just be able to get whatever layout you want to run down and away you go!
Thank you - this is definitely more of a static scene but every time I look at it I’m transported somewhere quite magical!
Just brilliant and thank YOU for this one 😊
My pleasure! Thanks
I'm only after finding your channel lately James, but it's a real gem! I love your presentation style and your layouts are absolutely wonderful. They've really sparked my desire to get back into modelling
Thank you Sean, glad you’re enjoying the channel. Do take a look at the blog, there is much more depth over there! HTTPS://paxton-road.blogspot.co.uk
@@JamesHiltonCustomModelRailways I certainly will!
Nice Can't wait till you get back to the h o layout
Do you mean Beaverbrook? Yes, I keep thinking about what is next on the list - but I can enjoy it as is, so it's less of pressing priority.
Thanks for posting
Have you ever considered an essay in minimum space O Gauge, I’m sure if you did it would be amazing
Thanks again for another antidote to a particularly demanding week
Not yet! I’ve always felt it is too large for me… thank you though that is very kind
You could have made a lot more out of N Gauge because it’s only 2mm to the foot!!
It certainly has been enjoyable journey for me
