Jacqueline since stripes are purely color based and he wanted it to be just gray and stone like he didn't add stripes
He could have added stripes by subtly chipping out bits of the fur and shadowing it in. The ears for sure though would have helped.

Yea! Like, he was all worried about the face looking tiger-ish and i was just sitting here silently screaming at him to put some damn ears on it!!
I thought he should have stretched out the muzzle or made the paws bunched together and not really spread out like a tiger's paws.

I'm surprised you didn't go in with a darker grey to add in some stripes on the fur to really push the Tiger a bit more. Otherwise, fantastic work!

OzRedCat for one thing the file would be insanely huge given the detail. Even attempting a smart low-poly transformation wouldn’t work nicely, it’d probably screw it up badly. For another it’s really not optimised for FDM, especially the wings. Possible, but not likely.

Acrimonious Mirth it wouldn't capture all the details but with a bit of simplification & modification it would certainly wouldn't be impossible. it could also, especially in the case of the wings, be spit into parts, and assembled post-print.

TheOnlyIgg there is a method to extrude hair from the modell and create real fur made of the plastic.
But MIT won't share their program needed for it...

You could also ask him to invest in a UV resin printer and paint a miniature out of it with his new warhammer 50k paint chest he just made a week ago. He announced that he wanted to get back into miniature painting, so this would be a great idea for a possible RUclips video in the future.

You should add more to a tiger cat like ears so the tiger look can be found in there. No hate though, that is a Masterpiece (This is my opinion)

agree!! also moving the nose/ mouth forward a bit could make it look more like a tiger too, along with slightly reducing the eyebrow ridge

I hope he does! Couldn't you just do lot's of support material and a high resolution?
You would either need a really big model or really small filament (if thats even a thing) to get the details of the hair, and you would need a lot of support material, which he would have to take off and he would lose all of the details in that area, including the fur areas that needed support. I think... xD

Crafter Bros Hair-like textures look like garbage when you 3D print them because of the way printing programs handle print resolution and printing overhangs
Man, I learned more about Medium from your videos than anyone else's, thank you. This program is absolutely the bee's knees. Coming in from Blender this stuff is like magic, especially if you import it into Blender.

InfectedSkulls It's a gargoyle.. It isn't supposed to look a lot like a tiger but more of a humanoid creature.. He just put a little bit of tiger features just to make it interesting.. Like the claws.

I think the tail and claws emphasize it a bit and the face definitely has feline features but the tiger could’ve been expressed a little more
Lonca_47 The claws are the only part reminiscent of a tiger, since monkeys have tails and can have underbite with fangs as well.
Kirsty McAllister yea, but even though it was in grayscale Jazza could've added black stripes =/
Lonca_47 I personally disagree about the face. It looks like a mix of an orc with a monkey. Especially with the added 'fangs', which look nothing like feline teeth, but 100% like orc ones. Also the overall shape is just way too human and vertical. Tiger head is based on entierly different skull shape - probably the human head model is to blame. Tail and claws I think are too vague of a symbol to make the tiger esthetic pop out. That's because way too many animals (especially fantasy animals) share it. So it just doesn't make *tiger* come to mind upon seeing it.
Nontheless - really enjoyable video and it's awesome to see Jazza try new things in the program and learn so much! The end result wasn't bad either, it looks like a really cool ancient keeper or guardian - I can imagine seeing him in a forgotten temple in the middle of a jungle. I'm very excited to see what will come out of this little Medium adventure.
Could you try to do another Micheal Angelo sculpture and compare it to the first one, to see how you’ve progressed.
