Can you put the reservoir ABOVE the tanks by chance? I have a cabinet above my tank but no floor space beneath... I imagine above wouldn’t work as it might create a siphon?
The syphon break with the little plastic I shown twice in the video, shouldn't be a problem. But if you have the luxurious of having your freshwater above, perhaps look for gravity feed system, more simple and reliable.
Great! I have same ATO! Had it hooked up to my nano for about two weeks and then realized that I had nearly zero evaporation thanks to my lid. It’s been in the box ever since. Ha!
Not that version, I bought many of them, they failed after a while. I'm testing the second version but do not like the company's attitude of refusing to admit they had a manufacturing flaw.
@@AquaSplendor what was the flaw if its ok to ask? I had a auto aqua at micro lasted 6 years and now failed but thats my fault. How did yours fail? Did it overfill?

Both pump and eye/water level sensor went a little over one year of owning. Not impressed. $20 replacement pump cost and $50 eye/water lvl sensor replacement I’m now $190 into this ato. Wishing I’d of just coughed up the extra money and got the Tunze Osmolator.
@@AquaSplendor Gotcha, I picked the jbj ATO up and I thought $100 was a lot for a sensor and a pump. I've been thinking about using a small pump, sensor and a raspberry pi for my other tank
@@AquaSplendor what i was saying is that in the title you say its cheap auto top off. $120 is not cheap thats really expensive for me. not everyone has that kind of money
Awesome videos! Thank you for sharing our product with the community! 👍

the coupling goes at the tank to stop a siphon. not at the bottom.
What tool did you use to put a hole in the top of the container @ 6:27?
Check in the description video, pin opener something I think
I like this guy
What’s the tool you used for drilling the holes on the cap?
Found answer to my question: it’s likely a hole puncher reamer :)
@@urlocalchicken Yes I put a link in my description of the one I used
What is the tool you used to cut a hole in the lid?

Do you use RO water in this or saltwater?
RO/DI
can I use a standard airline hose instead of the 3/16 ID tubing? I'm in Canada and finding plumbing parts for 3/16 is a pain the ass
I Can confirm your pain.

No
The tube is in the water... should I remove it?
You are talking about the little plastic with a hole? That need to be in contact with air to break the siphon. Otherwise that feature becomes useless.

Hehe great solution 😝. For my aquarium I have to have an open top because of temperature is too high during summer even with my Air Clime
Aqua Splendor aesthetically yours looks very nice topless. Mine is JBJ nano cube and I prefer the look of the OEM LED canopy.
Do you still recommend it

I was looking at this one on Amazon. Didn't even look for reviews on it, your video popped up randomly. Thanks for the review. Any thoughts on it now?
I bought 2 other for my other aquarium after this video, good stuff

$127 is cheap?
Yes, it's often half the price of other similar product.
