the difference in training. Haas at times hits weak shots. you cannot " rally " in modern tennis. every shot needs to be forcing the other player or at least minimizing his attack surface. Haas's game is good and his serve is top-quality. the difference is training and intensity. he is maybe 10% below federer. with training for a year he could be 6% below Federer. that would have made him a champion of the second-tier. I just watched him though hit a pitiful attempt at a drop shot against Nadal on hard court ? that shows you his amateur-ness in relation to the champions ... Nadal, Djokovic and Federer.
