Nadal can't reach this kind of level of tennis again because of his age,but what he did in this US Open 2013 will go down in history as something absolutely special.
Not just age. Countinus injuries simply made his agility and speed worse. Injury free 2020 nadal would still be 10x faster and athletic than current nadal.
Talking about non-clay performance, I think he displayed even a better level of tennis when he won US Open 2010 by dropping only 1 set throughout the whole tournament, which came by Djokovic in the final. But if we talk about the 2013 season in general, Rafa was definitely something else in that year. Beating Nole twice in slams and 35-3 record in ATP Masters 1000, just crazy.
He clearly can't defend as well as he used to so he tries to be consistently aggresive, but that doesn't mean that his offence is better now than then. He tries to flatten out his backhand more and play less defence but his forehand was deadlier at that time and he was trying to hit as many forehands as possible. So all in all, I believe that offensively he is more complete and consistent now but back then he was just as good and probably better than now.
Nadal's greatest GS performance outside the French? probably top 10 US Open performances of all time too
Nadal 2010 US Open was better.
One of the greatest tournaments I've ever seen a player play. Also Edberg at 1991 US Open or Safin at 2000 US Open.
NADAL MAGNIFIQUE. IL LES A TUÉS UN PAR UN!!
the third set was awesome
Peak Nadal is 🔥🔥🔥

2010 I thought he played better

I will never ever forget that third set
Rafael Nadal N01 gentilman talented honesty handsham champions player in the world
Grey Nadal was amazing!
nadal is a bit slower these days ... but his offensive play style is much better these days ... so everything is leveling out
Yes. He knows he cannot cover the court as well as before and so needs to be more aggressive

Also when he's in a long rally, he goes for drop shots.
Nadal should go back to his defense first play style.
@@dre-p3058impossible for him at age 37
The court is very slow
