that's exactly the point of star citizen , you don't have to be into space battles or space at all , you can be just a farmer in your friends base (or yours) taking care of space carrots , star citizen is the game with the scale of a star wars movie in real time.. you don't ever have to leave planetside if your choose to. WHICH IS F*CKING COOL! just watering your farms and you look up and there's a huge space battle going on , that's the level of emergent gameplay we just can't see in other games. we have miners , racers , marines , medics , engineers ( soontm ) explorers , industrialists (soon tm) even fuel rats and bounty hunters , it's not linear and all limiting is your skill to said profession. but i'm od'ing on copium and it's totally a scam ... Fun fact though: the top hangar on the Bengal now is as big as the main hangar was on the Bengal in the SQ42 Kickstarter trailer.

They could honestly make a series about first contact with the Vanduul. If they could produce it on par with these ship ads then I would absolutely watch it.
Pro tip, when really in the game keep the wings retracted while you are launching, Much more likely that both the wings and the hangar will remain intact.
somebody already mentioned this, but the decision to show the ship launching with wings extended was likely stylistic to demonstrate the different flight configurations.
There are a number of folks working on machinima stories using the Star Citizen client and/or engine; I imagine it'll only get more prevalent as the game gets more fleshed-out, optimized, and bug-free.
I would love more videos like the Reunion video they did for the MSR. but I guess they are quite time-consuming. and those people might be better used to make the game

Because they are not paying for the vast, full-time megaservers fully launched services like ffxiv or even Eve Online use, because they do not 'need' those servers yet. The ones they have now are small yes, but they fit the service they need, which is a live test build.

You know that Eve Online had network code developed specifically to have that many people on, and they have a fraction of data sent per player, and even with that they have to slow time down when big battles happen. Star Citizen is basically a space FPS made in an FPS engine and ... our tech limits the number of players with that. Its the reason GTA Online has a small server cap and all those other games, and throwing more servers at the problem does not solve it. You would need to build and engine and code specifically for it, like they did with Planetside.

This scramble sequence is amazing! The expressions on the pilots faces being caught off guard, camera angles, and chaos of everyone running to their ships are great! The sudden slow down in action to startup, organize, and setup before the massive adrenaline rush of being launched by the Bengal's deck crew was also on point. I can only imagine what the Squadron 42 experience will be like if these small clips are able to draw you into the universe like they do. It's going to be mindblowing!
Honestly, I hope this isn't a cut scene. To go through a full scramble sequence IN GAME, while in full control would be a top tier simulation experience. Watching out, and avoiding NPC's running around, trying to get to your fighter. Seeing other pilots jumping into their ship. Getting in line and waiting to get into the action as the fighting is clearly already going on before you even exit the ship.
@@Fractured676 I agree, a full simulation is the best way to go. You will have full control over the scramble and launch sequence when you are taking part in the action. They didn't put that much work into ship systems, deck crews, and ship interiors to have eveything be masked by cut scenes. I was refereing to the quailty of these clips and their ability to draw you into the universe and tell a story when you aren't taking part in the action directly.
I mean, isn´t this pretty much what SC is about? The promise is that it will give aaall the space scifi stereotypes and tropes that we wanted for decades. Everything in one game. I think.

Squadron 42 has a dedicated cinematics team, which I think is separate from the teams that work on these promos. Presumably when cinematics is done on SQ42 those designers/artists/engineers could be freed up to do new tasks, and I expect they'll be making a LOT of promotional and marketing cinematics for SQ42's marketing campaign. Once THAT is done, CIG will probably want to use them to create a deluge of cinematics for Star Citizen, to capitalize off SQ42 hype and try to bring new players over to Star Citizen (who are interested in a cinematic singleplayer game and haven't paid much attention to SC yet due to the early access state). I have nerdy, Star Wars and BSG loving friends that have refused to pick up Star Citizen yet because of all the negative press surrounding the dev cycle, which will be easily arrested by a massive cinematics marketing spree + the successful launch of SQ42 (assuming it is successful lol).

So, this needs to be developed into a tv mini series (unless its part of SQ42), where you can watch the show, but through the ingame tv screens or such.. For those moments on a long haul and you want to pass the time. Can just imagine kicking back in my 890, having a mates pilot and such, while im relaxing in my captains quarters watching another episode of "RSI vs the world"

I actually played for the first time in a long time last night! Its gotten a lot better since the last time I played :D ...till I smashed into a space station and died trying to look for a landing pad.
Rule no 1) in SC: Never fly straight into something but next to it ^^ keep it going, practice will come over time and my first flight took 5 seconds either before smashing the fat Max into Port Olisar ^^. Good luck citizen.
This is outstanding!! I love my Scorpius. But there's one thing I would have changed about this. I would have showcased their ability to extend and retract the wings by having the pilots fly out of the hanger with the wings folded, THEN extend the wings as they exited the hanger. That little touch would have made this trailer a 15/10.

Amazing! After Freelancer and Starlancer, I know Chris will deliver. Both games have incredible storylines and memorable moments.

If you open the ladder and cockpit independently and let the gunner up first the pilot can get in before the ladder folds away
