Man at my high school we have halo CE on our computers in the library, it is the best thing ever, me and my mates just have a massive free for all in the middle of lunch, halo is such a special game, I've had so many good times playing it.
Though my first ever game was halo CE, I will always remember halo 2 as being my favourite. It just brought so much and explored all I wanted to see in a sequel.

I have this feeling with Halo the Master Chief Collection I am going to get so overwhelmed the content, that the joy of nostalgia will overtake me with tears. xDD
Can I just say that as a former Halo 4 skeptic and Halo 2 + 3 fanatic, Halo 4 is awesome. You just have to figure it out. The campaign for 4 is terrible... mainly cos if you try do it on legendary on your own the suppressor and boltshot dont do enough damage or have enough ammo to get anywhere without days and days of patience. At first I refused to play 4 and would stick with 3. Now I love 4 and all the AMAZING extras. You have to get your own teams together for ranked matches in order to guarantee skill etc but there ARE ways around it, so less whining, more solutions! It is possible, easy and actually encourages a social structure to your gaming

Honestly for myself Halo 2 was the best overall in the saga. Minus the ending that we don't talk about. The second would have to be CE. Halo 4 is ok. But just ok. Reach was the real let down, let's all be honest, no Chief, and on top of that they messed around with the weapon skins we all grew to love. For the love of god if it ain't broke don't fix it! Only saving point was that the multiplayer maps in reach were decent.
So halo reach was a let down because chief wasn't in it and they changed weapon skins?
We'll be hearing all of these again in November with The Master Chief Collection!

Halo 2 was my start to online gaming, I wish they'd allow you to play the older versions on Xbox 1. It's a real pain in the ass, having to spend so much money to be able to play a couple games you want to.

Listening to these makes me reminisce A LOT. God, how badly I want Bungie to make another Halo, but then I realize, they stopped, because that's where they wanted the story to stop. Halo CE thru Reach were amazing, but I bought Halo 4, played the campaign and a little multiplayer, then sold it. Haven't played Halo since. 343 is just trying to milk the franchise and Master Chief way more than it should, but you can bet your ass that if I see trailers for a Halo game being made by Bungie, I'm buying the SHIT out of it

Halo Combat Evolved is the proud ancestor of the family, respected, loved and missed by all.
Halo 2 is the guy who took his ancestor's legacy and boosted it with rock, busting into our lives, saying "Hey bitches, guess who's back?"
Halo 3 is the legend, the hero, the guy who managed to do even better than his already famous family, coming with us with the MA5B onto his shoulder, telling us "Every story has a beginning, just as true as it has to have and ending".
And fuck, what a glorious end to the trilogy it was.
Halo Reach is the nice uncle, who, while different from the others, is still invited on the family dinners because of how nice he is to everyone, giving something fresh, and yet still cool.
Halo 4 is the drunk-ass uncle who nobody likes, constantly depressed because of his unpopularity, drinking himself to heck as to forget he's one of the least loved of the family. Only Halo 3 is nice to him, but that's because that mo-fo is nice to everyone.
Halo 5 is Halo 4's son, claiming to be even better than Halo 3 - and yet, still get lynched by the fans who don't see themselves in it.
And so the Mantle must pass on, friends. We are gettting old. Halo is not dead, but changing. And the direction it's taking is far from what it originally was.
But remember, as Halo 5 asks you for REQ packs, as the campaign is unberable, remember of the awesome times of the first trilogy. May it be you alone playing the campaign, or the insane Legendary playtrhough wih friends during the night, with for food a pizza and a lot of soda.

Halo 5 is a good game. I grew up with the original halos and I feel I'm the only one to think this. Story isn't great but the gameplay, in my opinion, is really good. People just say what they want to believe, and they want to believe that this game sucks since it's not made by bungie

Man I remember playing Halo shortly after it came out on first xbox. I was 8 years old (now I'm 20!) and from then on up to halo 3 odst I loved halo! Something about reach lost my interest and unfortunately for halo 4 I never bought it due to hard drive space....Halo 3 was by far my most favorite!

My first experience with Halo was at a friends house. I noticed him playing it on his Xbox and he let me try it. At first I wasn't that impressed, but then I drove out into the scenery and saw the curve of the halo reach up into the sky. At that moment I was instantly hooked.
Minus 2 years and actually played Halo 4, I'm the exact same, halo is a great series and I'm excited for the Halo Master Chief edition, I just hope it comes to PC though
You gotta play Halo 4 man. 343 is taking a pretty interesting path with Master Chief. Very personal compared to the previous 3 games. Has a great new feel to it.

They didnt have the rights to the music.
Yeah, they couldn't really do much with the main theme considering they literally just couldn't use it. However, it had a few selct pieces that were nice to listen to. Just not the main one.
That's because halo 4 had a different musician. The musician worked on the cancer that is known as Destiny at the time.
Chief To be fair, Destiny's music was probably the one of the best parts about it, if not, the best, Not saying it was phenomenal, however, it was definitely commendable enough. The rest of the game is an entirely different story. It had a few good other parts and was mostly a good foundation but it was too much of just simply a foundation and not enough of a truly acceptable beginning.

Why was the original Halo trilogy so amazing? Well it had an amazing campaign with an even better soundtrack that set the tone of the campaign, and multiplayer that kept you coming back so you could get better and better with each match, it had gamemodes that suited EVERYONE. This soundtrack, these theme songs, made Halo what it is today. Games nowadays dont have soundtracks like this, Halo had this and perfected its soundtrack through Bungie's direction.

343 ruined Halo
I personally don't think 343 ruined Halo. While the new trilogy doesn't live up to the original, I still feel that Halo 4 had an amazing story and multiplayer I could kill a few hours on, and even though Halo 5's story was lacking, I still enjoy it personally and play it almost everyday. And even though the characters aren't so convincing in Halo 5, at least they are there and have room for development. And I'd even go as far as to say that in the original 3 Halos, Master Chief wasn't much of a character. Even though he was memorable and all, he was quite under-developed and, well Halo 4 I feel really showed his humanity. Same with Forward Unto Dawn and the animated Fall of Reach. I found Nightfall to be entertaining as a film and had some pretty good character development too and liked how it showed Locke before he was a Spartan.
But I respect your opinion and am not going to be one of those people who goes "Omg, wtf your opinion isn't the same as mine, therefore your opinion sucks."
morti dragon Well, Bungie's philosophy with Chief in the games was that he was simply a player avatar for a power fantasy mostly and so restricted most of his character development to side materials.
