it’s cool to see a 7 1/4 inch gauge garden RR doing real work like a full sized class III railroad. Makes it feel like more of a narrow gauge legit railroad than a big model railroad
Sing along with me. 😄 Summertime... and the railroadin's easy, Chooks are clucking, and the weeds are all high. Your loco's charged... and the tracks are a calling. So hush little train dude, make that train fly.
Another good video. Yesterday, Saturday July 15th I visited Waushakum. If it wasn't for your video I never would have known about Waushakum, so thank you!
I am currently living in a shelter in Boston. So I don't know what my visiting schedule will be out to holliston. I will try to get there the weekend you're going to be there. We'll see what happens!
great job, no derailments ! that is a good run! the builders plate is great! metal recycle on the flat? there was a few spots where the cars dipped, could be a bad joint or ties! but it stayed on the track! good luck collecting the Ossipee central items to the Mill Brook Railroad it is a great addition! Take care Aaron.
@@MillBrookRailroad I think you're railroad looks better than ever now that you have the hopper. I would like to see it in your videos with the MLBK print on it. It could be the trash car or the debris car. Cory Mears
About time to get the weed sprayer out there, yeah? The battle of Cudzilla is taking over our railroad as well. Luckily 286k lb boxcars do a decent job of cutting through it for now. Also, would it be prudent to secure the load on the flat car with straps? Today's trip showed no signs of shifting or rolling, but it "could" happen. Anyway it's neat to see a scale model getting some utility function out of it! It makes me think and the first question is; Do they make functioning tank cars in that scale? Would be a hoot to have a series of tank cars that could haul things like water. Thanks for sharing!
Yes. It's about time to get the weed sprayer out. It has to not be raining, though. At least your empties don't get derailed on grape vines. Flat loads at 3 MPH tend to stay where they're put. This size railroad has a lot more in common with a garden cart in that respect. It's liberating, in a way. I take every opportunity to make the railroad earn its keep. It's not just for fun. Functioning tank cars are made in this scale. I have two so far. Both are homemade. One is an unfinished weed sprayer car, and the other is a water tank.
The MBRR looks to be running smoother now. 🙂 I did see a few things that you may, or may not, be aware of. 1-Drive chains appear to have slack, 2-Coupler heights not matching, 3- still having problems with the frogs on switches, and 4-Vegitation is beginning to encroach on the R.R. When do you plan to get the turntable in operation? With your planned expansion to the North(I think) will you be adding a second turntable or a 'Y' to turn the engine around? A turntable will take less trackage(space) than a 'Y' turn around. As always, a great job 🙂
The OCR engine facility will be moved to the MLBK, but the turntable and engine house are going to stay together. There may be another TT at the bottom of the railroad, but that's a ways off yet.
Thank you for another episode of Rainforest Railroad: The Chronicles of Verdant Vermont. You've got a pretty good mix of snow plows already, when is the Mow Plow coming to the channel? Start with a few of Ron Popeil's choppers from the thrift store and you, too, can become the Col. Sanders of backyard salad makers.
😊hello David, when is 70 going to get finished, there's no exhaust or handrails on the front, there's no platform or steps on the back, Otherwise this loco looks great, you are doing a great job,
It is finished. I don't want to put any jewelry on it that will only get destroyed in regular use. It is more of a tiny battery electric industrial locomotive than a model. The hood is the engineer seat.
The new hopper fits in well, although it looks a touch close to 70. Maybe I'm just used to seeing flatcars behind her, giving the illusion of more space.
Do you happen to know which website on Discover live steam sells those wheels skates? I don’t know exactly where to go. It just takes me to discover live steam on the link.
After I get them all home, sure! It will take awhile, however. I need to move a train shed from one place in New Hampshire and a roundhouse from another place in New Hampshire.
@@MillBrookRailroad Thank you. I appreciate the simplicity of the construction. I might try to build a G scale version. But I am interested in this railroad and am subscribing!

That's a Rittenberg hopper. A very rare specimen, indeed. Even more so made of aluminum like this one. It's one of two aluminum hoppers built by Gilbert Rittenberg and the only one with Ossipee Central Railway livery. If I want a hopper like that with MLBK on it, I'll have to make my own.

In Florida, you'll want to use 7-1/2" gauge. That's what people are using in most of the country. The exceptions are: New England, New York, New Jersey, and eastern PA, and then in Canada, from Ontario east and the rest of the world outside of the USA is also 7-1/4" gauge.
