Thanks for your time and expense! My 26 yr old Fluke 87 still compares to other meters. My field work in factory automation didn't need more than the 3 1/2 DIGITS it has but 4 1/2 would be nice provided it came with accuracy so that last decimal place wasn't just for looks. Occasionally voltage references needed to be looked at and the companies usually had the necessary test equipment. I say usually because one remote site in India has no useful electronic test equipment. In retirement, curiosity keeps me looking at the meters in this review. Hioki looks like a good meter brand as well though I haven't used one. Thanks!
Thanks for the informative video. I nearly got a Keithley DM7510 but didn’t because it was far too deep to fit on my bench. I’m on the hunt for a good DC current clamp probe or meter with mA resolution. Any ideas?
Great 50k & 60k meter review. Looks like the least significant digit is mostly for looks. 😎 Keithley is lab. quality equipment. Thank you. CuriousMarc repairs old high end NASA Apollo test HP equipment and some of it is super close.
Eh, meters these days are all the same, and 60000 counts seem kinda pointless - been doing electronics for a few decades - unless you're in metrology - can't think of a single use where I need that many digits. CE mark is self cetified, but you have to have docs from 3rd party labs proving you did your homework, and there are a lot of tests you'd need to pass to get to the market, if just say "we good, we did test" that will only fly till the first audit.
You are correct in a way but not really. To quote Fluke at www.fluke.com/en-us/learn/blog/safety/safe-test-tools-real-world-use "Fluke works with all the major nationally recognized test labs (NRTLs) including: CSA (Canadian Standards Association), UL (Underwriters Laboratories), TÜV (Technischer Überwachungs-Verein), and ETL/Intertek. The Fluke Product Compliance laboratory is accredited through CSA to test and certify products for their certification mark. Test procedures are laid out in detail and adhered to rigorously. Once a product has passed the appropriate tests, documentation is sent on for approval and registration." So in effect Fluke runs there own accredited CSA testing lab. So they do their own testing but it is subject to CSA processes and approval.
Hioki meters are UL listed the ones they have that are not was not intended for sale outside Japan. I have no doubt they perform according to the specification. I have a mix of Hioki, Fluke, Megger, Metrel instruments and they are all fantastic. I would also consider brymen, keysight, new age uni t, if i am looking at test equipment.
I have Uni-T 181A. I was looking initially at Fluke but I am not buying a used car, just a multimeter, it was insanely expensive - I compared the features set to Uni-T and the Fluke offered less for ~5x the price.
Thank you for this feedback, it helped me a lot in my choice of a multimeter. The measurement tables are a mine of information, I admire this work.
Дякую за чудовий огляд, пане Томе!
Thanks for the great review, Mr. Tom!
Finally a great review process!
Love your reviews Tom, keep up the great work! 👍👍
You should have a look into Hioki multimeters
Thanks for this great comparison.
Thanks for the review Tom!
Greatly appreciate you spending the time and money to do a very valuable video thanks 73s Mike

do we need any more recos for old flukes?
Thank you for this great video.

uummm Flukes are not 3rd party safety tested.. They do there own testing.

my DMM is UNI-T😊
Uni-T is impressing me more and more. Definitely the best bang-for-buck DMMs.

Agree the 187/189 are the best fluke meters ever made.
