    The Jackie laugh when Robin would read a tragedy in the news was priceless laughter.
    To bad Stern turned into everything he hated.

      Jackie was the only one of the staff who modelled on the show and was complimented by agency staff who said he could do it for a living. European good looks and masculine which absolutely drove big nose Stern into a jealous envious passive aggressive mood until he was gone.
      Howard’s game and money can never get him what Jackie had naturally.

    We old school Howard fans all loved jackie...His little snide remarks along with fred's were hilarious...He always seemed out of his element though.

    • @ErkaaJ
      @ErkaaJ 9 лет назад +4

      godbluffvdgg Damn right. Although, I do not like Jackie by himself, man, the synergy between Jackie and Fred as well as the ball-busting on Jackie amongst Howard and Fred deemed success. That synergy disappeared with Artie recruited on the team.

    • @frogfucius9785
      @frogfucius9785 8 лет назад +3

      +ErkaaJ casue artie didnt know how to genuinely laugh at himself. jackie did. did jackie ever throw anything at anyone? or go try to attack anyone? no. because he knew it was a comedy show. artie had too much baggage. i dont care what people say about stern these days the show has gotten better since artie left. now all that needs to happen is jackie admitting why he actually left, they would take him back in a second. jackie wont do that tho.

    • @GoBlue_UofM144
      @GoBlue_UofM144 7 лет назад +2

      godbluffvdgg don't speak for all of us. nobody liked Jackie, he was NEVER funny, anybody who laughs at their own jokes is an idiot. he made the show worse and every minute since he left has been better radio than anything he ever contributed too. I think your the only one who thought the Jackie days were good

    • @godbluffvdgg
      @godbluffvdgg 7 лет назад +3

      You know what Corey; I just looked into you...And you appear to be a huge BLANK...You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground...Do you think Howard is stupid? Jackie worked with him for a long time...You don't know what the fuck you're talking about....You're ignorant and stupid and the day you know more about Jackie, Howard, comedy, the world or anything than me; I will leave the internet.

  • @MrAitraining
    @MrAitraining 8 лет назад +30

    I enjoyed this. Jackie is still very humble. He really helped Howard be funny for years. Writing the bits and slipping Stern one liners every day. Old fans would hear the paper being passed and Howard would rip a great line. Stern relied on characters after Jackie and Howard was never as quick after Jackie.

    • @GoBlue_UofM144
      @GoBlue_UofM144 7 лет назад +1

      MrAitraining lol Jackie humble? he's a talentless hack who ruined the only real job he ever had. which was great for the show because Jackie was worthless

    • @MrAitraining
      @MrAitraining 7 лет назад +3

      Corey Van Dusen he was howard ' best asset in the great days. best writer he ever had and the show started a slow decline when jackie left that continues today. howard and the show was better with jackie. a lot better. any long time 30yr listener would agree. I guess u were more into the strippers and wackpackers.

    People hating on Howard: He's old. Nothing lasts forever. He can't be the same guy he was 20 or 30 years ago. Eventually people grow up, move on or just plain burn out.
    Be happy he was around and edgy for as long as he was. Now, he's obviously a shell of his former self. Some people like the subdued Howard, most don't. Oh well, the real problem is there is no one else to fill his void, and that's why he was so great... truly unique!

      absolutely... what i dont understand are the people that absolutely HATE jackie or artie yet think stern is greatest thing on the planet.. sure in his early days and even in the early and mid 90s stern could carry the show, but it got to the point where he needed these 2 to sustain entertainment through a full show.. you can see it now when howard has to talk about AGT for an hour or some lame story about his interaction with a celebrity he doesnt have that ability anymore. he cant create solid content off just his life anymore, either because its so vanilla or because hes too almighty to talk about the same things he used to. with artie you got to see someone who was successful before and after the show so we finally had someone that every so often would get fed up being exploited and give it back like in the "bro fight". stern refuses to admit it but he built his career off exploiting the people around him with no limit, midgets, addicts, retards, sluts, transvestites.. but i bet he thinks everyone listens to hear about how his bed faces east instead of west now or that he and howie mandel wear the same underwear.

    so true. I wonder if Howard's thinking Artie shouldn't have Jackie as a guest, since Artie would have only known Jackie through Howard.

    The last great thing Howard can do is have an interview with a sober Artie.

    How many second chances does Artie get? In his book the graphic descriptions of his playboy mansion gig and the near death episode are chilling and scary than anything I’ve read. And yet even after that he still went back to drugs. Now with a collapsed nose and more stints in rehab (Which do nothing for him) I worry about him since he’s been off the radar for four months and he’s a guy who doesn’t do well with isolation and stress. I think someone needs to check in with him.

    Jackie blew the greatest and easiest job on the planet cause he got greedy and if he didn't he would be retiring soon as a multi-millionaire! Im changing the phrase getting munsoned to martlinged!!

      Chris Watson It was far from an easy job, he had to write most of the show's material. Then he was paid less than Howard, Fred, and worst of all, Robin (And also didn't get the credit that they did). Don't spit out everything you hear Howard say on the radio, he was just mad he lost one of the best comedy writers in the business.

      +John Oz Howard lost Jackie to who? You would have an argument if Jackie had been employed by someone, ANYONE in show business. Jackie today does a hack standup act in a few crappy venues accepting an amount of money that would have been beneath him 16 years ago. His Jokemaster device and instructional videos on telling jokes are so embarrassing to see being pitched via infomercials and only serve as fodder for Howard to goof on. Jackies ability to recall old jokes he heard or read instantly is meaningless anywhere outside the HSS. Jackie was totally unrealistic about his worth in the business. He admits here that if he could have had some focus he could have cut back on stand up dates and handled the early work hours just like people in the Today show, Good Morning America, and his co workers did. All this is predicated on buying into his leaving to get sleep story of course. He never once mentioned sleep during his time on the show,only getting paid more. And was an easy job. He had no pre show prep,showing up 15 min before airtime and out the door withing 15 minutes of show ending. Howard had the after show meetings with sponsors and organizing and planning the next show in his home basement.

      John Oz You show you clearly have zero idea of what happened on the show. first off jackie and fred made right in the same ball park salary wise and I would bet anything he made more then fred. And as for your other point which is way off base is jackie didn't have to prepare the material for the show everyday, all he did was come in and sit in his spot and write jokes for howard as the show went on. Just because he was a writer doesn't mean he was behind all the shows material. All he would do is slip howard jokes throughout the show.
