Jackie was the only one of the staff who modelled on the show and was complimented by agency staff who said he could do it for a living. European good looks and masculine which absolutely drove big nose Stern into a jealous envious passive aggressive mood until he was gone. Howard’s game and money can never get him what Jackie had naturally.
I’ve been a daily listener of Howard since he started in Los Angeles. So many great memories but I have to admit the 8 years Artie sat in that chair were the best 8 years in the rich history of The Howard Stern Show.
+cflores1889 and he has been. artie has not been. if you are talking about being back full time.... jackie wouldve been if hed just admit his true motives for leaving. artie on the other hand would never be invited back, hasnt been, and probably wont be for a long time. if he ever is it will be for the novelty. if you like artie you a are probably a scumbag... fact.
Yeah because he needed his show"joke hunt" on Sirius ..His onlt sdeedy income ($500 a week)what a far cry to what he tuned down..that got cancelled and Jackie just did some popcast on Gawk and he took some shots at everyone..
godbluffvdgg Damn right. Although, I do not like Jackie by himself, man, the synergy between Jackie and Fred as well as the ball-busting on Jackie amongst Howard and Fred deemed success. That synergy disappeared with Artie recruited on the team.
+ErkaaJ casue artie didnt know how to genuinely laugh at himself. jackie did. did jackie ever throw anything at anyone? or go try to attack anyone? no. because he knew it was a comedy show. artie had too much baggage. i dont care what people say about stern these days the show has gotten better since artie left. now all that needs to happen is jackie admitting why he actually left, they would take him back in a second. jackie wont do that tho.
godbluffvdgg don't speak for all of us. nobody liked Jackie, he was NEVER funny, anybody who laughs at their own jokes is an idiot. he made the show worse and every minute since he left has been better radio than anything he ever contributed too. I think your the only one who thought the Jackie days were good
You know what Corey; I just looked into you...And you appear to be a huge BLANK...You don't know your ass from a hole in the ground...Do you think Howard is stupid? Jackie worked with him for a long time...You don't know what the fuck you're talking about....You're ignorant and stupid and the day you know more about Jackie, Howard, comedy, the world or anything than me; I will leave the internet.
jackie works hard to be funny....it comes naturally to Artie.....If Artie put in the effort hes funnier than jackie in any way....unless you like star trek and acting overly nerdy , Jackie was funny , but a goofy mf
I enjoyed this. Jackie is still very humble. He really helped Howard be funny for years. Writing the bits and slipping Stern one liners every day. Old fans would hear the paper being passed and Howard would rip a great line. Stern relied on characters after Jackie and Howard was never as quick after Jackie.
MrAitraining lol Jackie humble? he's a talentless hack who ruined the only real job he ever had. which was great for the show because Jackie was worthless
Corey Van Dusen he was howard ' best asset in the great days. best writer he ever had and the show started a slow decline when jackie left that continues today. howard and the show was better with jackie. a lot better. any long time 30yr listener would agree. I guess u were more into the strippers and wackpackers.
If you really think Jackie was worthless to the show, you have absolutely no clue as to how the Howard Stern Show operated during the time he was there.
Man jackie was always such a funny dude. No one can tell a joke like jackie. And such a sick sense of humor, like laughing at infant rape victims in robins news. Was so good
Yo Artie from one Longshoreman to another. You are the man... I wish Howard would take you back only because you guys on the show had great chemistry... But I am glade to see you have you own show.. Rock on Dude..
Artie, it's great seeing the two of you talking. You have a lot in common, and you were both fantastic and hilarious on the Stern Show. The show suffered when you both individually left. I am a Hhuge Jackie fan. The only thing that helped me get through his leaving, was you being so funny taking over.
People hating on Howard: He's old. Nothing lasts forever. He can't be the same guy he was 20 or 30 years ago. Eventually people grow up, move on or just plain burn out. Be happy he was around and edgy for as long as he was. Now, he's obviously a shell of his former self. Some people like the subdued Howard, most don't. Oh well, the real problem is there is no one else to fill his void, and that's why he was so great... truly unique!
"You stepped onto a moving train", that's the line Robin said about Jackie when he had just left and she was saying that the show will go on without him and that he had stepped onto a moving train when he first joined Stern. Good one Jackie,,
When someone is selling their car, there’s a “My car’s for sale price” & a “My car’s not for sale price.” Jackie’s demand for an obscene amount of money demand was his way of telling Howard he was not coming back.
I got into radio for the same reason. I saw how much fun you guys had at your job so I wanted to do it too. I'm 10 years in, and looking for something else.
Used to listen all the time...I seriously had a series of dreams at one time where I called and was part of the show...100% truth and those pseudo-memories were so fucking awesome...I remember the shell of those memories and it just felt great to be a part of something as fantastic as that...even tho I was not...Crazy sounding I know...but True!
Benjy gets my respect he climb the ladder had to take abuse from Howard Stern concerning his appearance weight looks for many years he just took it year after year
absolutely... what i dont understand are the people that absolutely HATE jackie or artie yet think stern is greatest thing on the planet.. sure in his early days and even in the early and mid 90s stern could carry the show, but it got to the point where he needed these 2 to sustain entertainment through a full show.. you can see it now when howard has to talk about AGT for an hour or some lame story about his interaction with a celebrity he doesnt have that ability anymore. he cant create solid content off just his life anymore, either because its so vanilla or because hes too almighty to talk about the same things he used to. with artie you got to see someone who was successful before and after the show so we finally had someone that every so often would get fed up being exploited and give it back like in the "bro fight". stern refuses to admit it but he built his career off exploiting the people around him with no limit, midgets, addicts, retards, sluts, transvestites.. but i bet he thinks everyone listens to hear about how his bed faces east instead of west now or that he and howie mandel wear the same underwear.
How many second chances does Artie get? In his book the graphic descriptions of his playboy mansion gig and the near death episode are chilling and scary than anything I’ve read. And yet even after that he still went back to drugs. Now with a collapsed nose and more stints in rehab (Which do nothing for him) I worry about him since he’s been off the radar for four months and he’s a guy who doesn’t do well with isolation and stress. I think someone needs to check in with him.
boy. _these_ guys sure changed their tunes recently. maybe i'm wrong, but wasn't there just a few months ago some new interview with these two were they're shitting all OVER Howard Stern? i'm probably wrong. i hope i'm wrong.
Jackie blew the greatest and easiest job on the planet cause he got greedy and if he didn't he would be retiring soon as a multi-millionaire! Im changing the phrase getting munsoned to martlinged!!
Chris Watson It was far from an easy job, he had to write most of the show's material. Then he was paid less than Howard, Fred, and worst of all, Robin (And also didn't get the credit that they did). Don't spit out everything you hear Howard say on the radio, he was just mad he lost one of the best comedy writers in the business.

+John Oz Howard lost Jackie to who? You would have an argument if Jackie had been employed by someone, ANYONE in show business. Jackie today does a hack standup act in a few crappy venues accepting an amount of money that would have been beneath him 16 years ago. His Jokemaster device and instructional videos on telling jokes are so embarrassing to see being pitched via infomercials and only serve as fodder for Howard to goof on. Jackies ability to recall old jokes he heard or read instantly is meaningless anywhere outside the HSS. Jackie was totally unrealistic about his worth in the business. He admits here that if he could have had some focus he could have cut back on stand up dates and handled the early work hours just like people in the Today show, Good Morning America, and his co workers did. All this is predicated on buying into his leaving to get sleep story of course. He never once mentioned sleep during his time on the show, only getting paid more. And was an easy job. He had no pre show prep, showing up 15 min before airtime and out the door withing 15 minutes of show ending. Howard had the after show meetings with sponsors and organizing and planning the next show in his home basement.
John Oz You show you clearly have zero idea of what happened on the show. first off jackie and fred made right in the same ball park salary wise and I would bet anything he made more then fred. And as for your other point which is way off base is jackie didn't have to prepare the material for the show everyday, all he did was come in and sit in his spot and write jokes for howard as the show went on. Just because he was a writer doesn't mean he was behind all the shows material. All he would do is slip howard jokes throughout the show.
The Jackie laugh when Robin would read a tragedy in the news was priceless laughter.
To bad Stern turned into everything he hated.
That would make me cry laugh every fuckin' day. And the amount of jackie laugh samples was amazing.
No it wasn’t
That's why he hated 'them', because he wanted to be them.
Damn I wish Artie could’ve kept his own show going.
I know, he had such a great opportunity with this show… even just the studio set itself was amazing
His nose had other plans
I miss both of these guys wish they were on the show
+kyle bachman Me too!!
There are better shows. FashtheNation, TheDailyShoah, or RadicalAgenda. Google them, or visit RadiotheRightStuff.biz.
kyle bachman Jackie was never ever funny in any way. total fucking loser. artie is a different story and was actually good on the show
ill check these out
These are all political talk shows. Your a moron.
jackie looks good for 100.
Lol
He's not 100 he's 93
@SOCIAL 215 no one can count that high.
@@coonhunter132 now hes 96..👲
Jackie was the only one of the staff who modelled on the show and was complimented by agency staff who said he could do it for a living. European good looks and masculine which absolutely drove big nose Stern into a jealous envious passive aggressive mood until he was gone.
Howard’s game and money can never get him what Jackie had naturally.
What a pleasure it is to listen to Artie having Jackie as a guest
I’ve been a daily listener of Howard since he started in Los Angeles. So many great memories but I have to admit the 8 years Artie sat in that chair were the best 8 years in the rich history of The Howard Stern Show.
I love you Artie! It's so good to see you looking so well. God Bless you in recovery!!!
Jackie always a class act. good guy, funny as hell, hard workin dude, love him!
Jackie never bashed Howard after left. Very classy
+robertk2007 Because he was hoping he'd be invited back.
+cflores1889 and he has been. artie has not been. if you are talking about being back full time.... jackie wouldve been if hed just admit his true motives for leaving. artie on the other hand would never be invited back, hasnt been, and probably wont be for a long time. if he ever is it will be for the novelty. if you like artie you a are probably a scumbag... fact.
+cflores1889 so he could hawk his junk lol
Yeah because he needed his show"joke hunt" on Sirius ..His onlt sdeedy income ($500 a week)what a far cry to what he tuned down..that got cancelled and Jackie just did some popcast on Gawk and he took some shots at everyone..
jackie made the biggest mistake in showbiz history, glad we got to have artie for those 9 years though because of it
Surprisingly well produced. Both guys were great and made history on the Stern Show. Just leave it at that guys and move on.
We old school Howard fans all loved jackie...His little snide remarks along with fred's were hilarious...He always seemed out of his element though.
godbluffvdgg Damn right. Although, I do not like Jackie by himself, man, the synergy between Jackie and Fred as well as the ball-busting on Jackie amongst Howard and Fred deemed success. That synergy disappeared with Artie recruited on the team.

Jackie was the only one on the show who could knock Robin down a peg and get away with it.
Artie, sat in the chair, but Jackie, wrote the bits!
Two completely different animals.
jackie works hard to be funny....it comes naturally to Artie.....If Artie put in the effort hes funnier than jackie in any way....unless you like star trek and acting overly nerdy , Jackie was funny , but a goofy mf
I’ll take Artie over Jokeman
Artie didnt need to write bits to be funny. They sat in the same chair but are different styles so thats lame to compare them at all.
Jackie was better
Jackie wrote for Howard on the fly and the stuff they came up with was just awesome.
2 dudes, who blew the greatest gig of all time, regrets???? no shit!!!!!!
# Artie Lange repeatedly
i can't listen to Stern without Artie.
Hammer your crazy, show is as good as ever, I have a hard time listening to these two idiots without stern
I can't listen to Stern without Jackie.
Without Artie?! Ugh. How about Stern without Jackie? Artie lol.
The laughs ended when Artie left...
Jackie was the speed of the show and Howard's best writer ever. Fed him all show long. It all got slower and not as funny after Jackie.
Thanks for posting this!! I could listen to old show stories from Artie and Jackie all day!

Lofl, Jackie had every reason to be humble, his standup was total hack shit.
Also the easiest way to tell when Howard read a joke that Jackie slipped him is Jackie would laugh the hardest at the jokes/lines he wrote
Man jackie was always such a funny dude. No one can tell a joke like jackie. And such a sick sense of humor, like laughing at infant rape victims in robins news. Was so good
Love both these guys. The Howard Show NEEDS these guys back.
i love you jackie. listening to you, and gilbert on howards show were the best years of my life!!!
Great seeing Jackie on the show.
Look at those headphones spread around Artie's head. They are almost straight across
Yo Artie from one Longshoreman to another. You are the man... I wish Howard would take you back only because you guys on the show had great chemistry... But I am glade to see you have you own show.. Rock on Dude..
Im loving the artie lange show...very interesting and great guests
This was one of Artie's best interviews.
Artie, it's great seeing the two of you talking. You have a lot in common, and you were both fantastic and hilarious on the Stern Show. The show suffered when you both individually left. I am a Hhuge Jackie fan. The only thing that helped me get through his leaving, was you being so funny taking over.
artie's the man. ran into him in the village in october, dude stopped and shook my hand. class act.
not cool considering corona....
I wish both of these guys would come back to the show together
Artie: "It's hard for me to take a nap" -- LOL -- funniest line of the interview.
People hating on Howard: He's old. Nothing lasts forever. He can't be the same guy he was 20 or 30 years ago. Eventually people grow up, move on or just plain burn out.

Artie's headphones are hilarious.
Was staring at them for awhile
Two legends meet!
WOW. Artie Lange has his own show? And ITS GOOD? AWESOME! PLUS ONE FOR THE INTERNET
2 guys who......BLEWWWWW IT!
I love both these guys.
That Jackie laugh was the best. Stump the joke man. The Jackie puppet. I don't even bother with Howard anymore
larry zievis right on brotha
Absolutely. Jackie had THE best laugh. Howard screwed over Jackie, Artie and John, and it's not coincidental.
That was the show's prime
larry zievis nobody cares
And screw all the haters, Jackie rules!
This is the first time I've seen Artie on this new show, he seems much more healthy and centered. I'm glad for him.
"You stepped onto a moving train", that's the line Robin said about Jackie when he had just left and she was saying that the show will go on without him and that he had stepped onto a moving train when he first joined Stern. Good one Jackie,,
Bring Artie back!
I was a Jackie guy, Artie was only on for a short time when they moved to Sirius which I didn’t get for quite a while.
Got to hand it to Artie. He left the show, but he is still in entertainment. Bravo.
Get the show back Artie!
cant believe this was a decade ago.
When someone is selling their car, there’s a “My car’s for sale price” & a “My car’s not for sale price.”
Jackie’s demand for an obscene amount of money demand was his way of telling Howard he was not coming back.
I got into radio for the same reason. I saw how much fun you guys had at your job so I wanted to do it too. I'm 10 years in, and looking for something else.
So this is 6 years ago? Crazy the amount of aging Artie did in that relatively short time.
Coke and herron
Fascinating
Great interview..!
Everyone recognized Jackie in his car because he had JOKEMAN license plates. Haha
Artie is the best!!
Fucking legends years of entertainment!
Where's Billy West? The troika needs to be completed.
That was a different time. The Artie/KC era. Stern owned the world then.
WAHHH; I had a job. I had to work. I traveled. I woke up early.
Great show, Artie! Very good job! Glad you're doing well! You're a tremendously funny and talented guy! Stay well!
Artie you should have asked Jackie if he always laughed the hardest for the jokes he wrote for Howard
arties voice..... still love the dude
your my hero
Great insight into that job
Yes "they" did. Its very hard to get a show on the internet. You can have one too if you want
jack and art really are pretty good they should get a FM show
Artie dose an amazing job as the host
Used to listen all the time...I seriously had a series of dreams at one time where I called and was part of the show...100% truth and those pseudo-memories were so fucking awesome...I remember the shell of those memories and it just felt great to be a part of something as fantastic as that...even tho I was not...Crazy sounding I know...but True!
I was one of the listeners in Detroit on W4 before format went to country. Steve Dahl was before Stern.
Love and respect both of them....but this is just sad....
The artie lange show.....LMMFAO!!!
What’s funny?
@evanpatterson4042 the fact he had a show
This is definitely Pittsburgh Pete😂
Artie could never ever replace jackie
Amen! Jackie was the Golden Age!
howard took these two guys for granted, some of the best years of the show were when these two guys were on. the show sucks now
shut the fuck up. at least come up with an original criticism.
your so scary, computer tough guy, pus
No these two guys took a Howard for granted.
i love artie!!!! wish howard would bring him back
I'm happy artie has is own show I only watched Howard stern with artie once artie left I did also
What is that thing protruding from Artie’s face?
if anything Benjy took Jackies job
Benjy gets my respect he climb the ladder had to take abuse from Howard Stern concerning his appearance weight looks for many years he just took it year after year
He needs to go back with Howard Stern
yeah to bad, i love em both..
oh shit this is great !
Jackie will be appearing in Jackie's kitchen making coffee.
Totally agree
artie had his own show? how long did it last?
Howard sucks without these two guys.
absolutely... what i dont understand are the people that absolutely HATE jackie or artie yet think stern is greatest thing on the planet.. sure in his early days and even in the early and mid 90s stern could carry the show, but it got to the point where he needed these 2 to sustain entertainment through a full show.. you can see it now when howard has to talk about AGT for an hour or some lame story about his interaction with a celebrity he doesnt have that ability anymore. he cant create solid content off just his life anymore, either because its so vanilla or because hes too almighty to talk about the same things he used to. with artie you got to see someone who was successful before and after the show so we finally had someone that every so often would get fed up being exploited and give it back like in the "bro fight". stern refuses to admit it but he built his career off exploiting the people around him with no limit, midgets, addicts, retards, sluts, transvestites.. but i bet he thinks everyone listens to hear about how his bed faces east instead of west now or that he and howie mandel wear the same underwear.
Patrick Bateman these guys suck without Howard
exactly, i agree
Before Howard ends the show he should invite these two back.
Good to see these two together. Is The Nick and Artie show still going on?
Amazing how well Jackie has aged, just compare him to Artie. Heroin is a hell of a drug
Stump the comedians was never the same.
Arties show was talking about Howard stern's show.
I still love me some Artie Lange- too FAnTastic to forget. Please join radioio artie- shannon needs a nee colin! BubbaArmy!
Dayum, Artie is even a good interviewer.
so true. I wonder if Howard's thinking Artie shouldn't have Jackie as a guest, since Artie would have only known Jackie through Howard.
how does Howard do the show when he's on the road?
Love the headphones Artie. LET'S GO YANKEES.
Why the fuck do they got headphones on when its just the 2 of them sitting 5 feet from each other?? Its pretty funny!
Artie talks more than his guests.....
The last great thing Howard can do is have an interview with a sober Artie.
That would be a dream come true.
Howard's shadow looms so large over everyone he's left behind
boy. _these_ guys sure changed their tunes recently.
maybe i'm wrong, but wasn't there just a few months ago some new interview with these two were they're shitting all OVER Howard Stern?
i'm probably wrong. i hope i'm wrong.
did he mention it on the show? which day?
