The one thing about Kobe is that there is many people I know that don’t watch basketball or anything sports wise but they always knew Kobe and almost everything about him. When I heard the voice of Kobe during this tribute I broke down man. This has been a tough week. Just like many of you I never met him personally. But it's obvious he had a big impact on us.
As a Kobe fan I gained respect for Lebron James in the last couple of days. He does seem genuine and let's hope he can lead the squad to the title and honor Bryant.

Damn bruh I’ve have never been crying over a celebrity but Kobe’s death hit me hard because I grew up idolizing him as a player and the type of person he was I mean the impact he made in my life is pretty much what I am today which is work hard for what you want to accomplish and even work extra to Above and beyond & to see him go like this just fucking kills me inside be we didn’t lost a player we lost a father, a husband , a brother & not to mention the other families too may god be with them.
It feels surreal and too fast for everyone who grew up during his legacy in NBA and this tragedy just happend after a few years from his retirement.I was always waking up in early morning just to watch his matches highlight on national television before going to school.

A coworker let me know why some of us were so hurt at this: we watched Kobe enter from high school because we were in high school when he left high school. We watched him spend the majority of his life in the NBA. We literally watched him grow up as we grew up just like a classmate from school we knew.
I said it before and I'll say it again: I was never a Kobe fan but he is beyond worthy to be in the top 1% of all time greats of basketball and sports.
It's not top 1%...not even close...he's probably top 60%...he's a top 10 greatest of all time...I never liked him on or off the court. But we must pay tribute to a life that ended so early!

I've never been much of a basketball fan, but I've always loosely followed. Kobe was an inspiration for me. Between him and Champ Bailey, my favorite number will forever be 24. I work for everything I've ever owned and I work my ass off to get where I am today. I kept that mentality that he shared and I took that shit to heart. Rest in peace Kobe and Gigi 💜💛
2 years later it still hurts as we all embark on three years since this talented, brilliant man left us. To me Kobe was the type of guy that i would hang out with. I think thats why i cry more in the month of August because this is the month he was born. Rest in peace Mamba
