  • Good things are happening in the City of Muskegon. After the razing of 23 acres of the former downtown Mall property, past area leaders were courageous in taking the responsibility to create a culture of collaboration to rebuild our core downtown. The City has been in the midst of a historic transformation of its downtown, former industrial properties on Muskegon Lake, diverse neighbourhoods and industrial parks. In the past decade, the City has been experiencing a renaissance which has contributed to population growth, increased taxable base, new housing developments, and more arts and culture and recreational offerings. The environmental restoration of Muskegon Lake and the delisting of it as one of the Great Lakes Areas of Concern (AOC) has brought community stakeholders together to improve the water quality and protect the fish and wildlife habitat of this critical natural resource.
We are committed to building upon a decade of momentum. A new generation of leaders is energizing a community of the future to offer a vibrant, affordable and ethnically diverse living experience where citizens feel safe and enjoy their neighbourhoods and have access to resources offered by their city government.
