Mega Man X3 is easily the hardest game of the original SNES trilogy and is also in the top 3 hardest of the franchise, the game is brutal and i love it for it.
While I do agree with most of his picks from that game (and I can see why there's an argument for Blast Hornet, even though he's easily manipulatable during the first phase once you understand how his attacks work), I cannot justify putting Crush Crawfish on this list. Sure, he can cause a lot of damage, but that means nothing if he cannot hit you: he's generally easy to avoid if you just keep your distance (and his projectiles don't even damage you, making them non threatening if he's far enough away), so only his butt dash that he can do after reaching half health or less is actually a threat, and even then, it only is because of how fast it is if you're not prepared for it (though the fact that he has to turn around before he uses it means that you have enough time to see it coming and react to it)
@@matthewkuscienko4616 hey Matt! Keep in mind, this was just based on how many times I died and how dangerous each fight felt in comparison to each other. His body slide does a lot of damage but his claws do too, which his projectiles can sometimes drop you right into. Wasn’t me speculating or making anything up, that’s just where it stacked up with how many times I died and how challenging it actually felt. I didn’t see this comment 9 months ago, hope you’ve been well!
@@MarMaxGaming I have, been well, thanks for asking. Also, I remember talking to you about this in the past (unless those old comments got deleted or something), and I do seem to remember you mentioning that the difficulty was based on how many times you said you died to that boss
I had X3 on PC and was never able to beat it back in the day. Beat X1, X4, never played X2 unfortunately. I always thought it was unfairly difficult but then again I was like 12 years old trying to beat these damn games so maybe I just wasn't good enough lol.
The best way to fight Armored Armadillo is to simply shoot without charging, eventually one of the shots are going to stun him and you also gotta jump from some of his shots while doing this. When he does the rolling attack you just gotta pay attention and stand in specific spots to avoid being hit. The fight is long tho, since every shot takes only one bar of damage. Good #1 choice, Volt Catfish is really hard.
Love videos like this. Just a dude talking about games he loves. No asking for subs/likes, no overly detailed preamble to set the context, just straight to the good stuff. Totally reasonable assessment of the bosses BTW. Thumbs up for sure.
Thanks so much, man! I’m glad you enjoyed this video, I made it a few years ago. If you’re still in the mega man x mavericks mood, I did a Dashless list for Mega Man X.. and if you’re feeling more mega man, I have all of the NES ones ranked as well.. I try not to milk or beg for subs, but honestly I DO hope the channel grows bc this means a lot to me and I’d like to do a lot more of it. I’m currently 35 subs from 3,000 and I’m not gonna lie, I’m trying to get this to 10,000 in the next couple years before we start a family. I’d love to see what else you think of any vids that might interest you, thanks so much for watching and the feedback ❤️
Hahaha oh man, that’s just brutal.. hope you’ve been well, Xavier! Are you into nes mega man at all? Not sure if you’ve seen the NES vs Genesis series, for MM1, 2, and 3.. we have MM4 and 5 too.. thanks for commenting man!
Really thorough list ! Keep up the good work. Maybe you could do the most difficult end stage bosses from X1, X2 and X3 (Sigma Bosses, X Hunters, Doppler Bosses)
Others I believe deseve a mention are Magna Centipede from X2, Chameleon from X1 and the Tunnel Rhino (the drill guy) from X3. But overall, solid list!
Love coming back to these videos when I get into Megaman x again. I cannot wait for you to cover the spider boss in your endgame boss list. Two years ago I busted my balls off trying to beat it on this challenge rule set. I might say he’s a top 10 contender for hardest x bosses of all time
I'd definitely replace some of them (particularly Crawfish and Beetle), probably with Centipede and Chameleon. In general, X3's bosses deal a TON of damage, but are way too consistent for me to say they're the hardest, and it applies to nearly every boss in that game (the exceptions I remember are Catfish and Press Disposer, which are both painful). Chameleon and Centipede on the other hand, sort of like say, Octopus, can just screw you over because they feel like it sometimes. Particularly Centipede - I still have no idea how exactly you're supposed to avoid his infection attack. Good video! I find Mandrill's fight to be fun as well.
Hey Marx! have had a couple people also say Centipede and Chameleon could be up there. I hear where you’re coming from! Sting Chameleon was #11 and Centipede was up there too on the #24 - #11 part 1 of the countdown! Beetle just does too much damn damage for me to leave him out, those orbs are crazy. And yes, I also describe X3’s robot masters like that in the X3 “it’s expensive but is it good?” Some of them are simpler but do so much damage. Love to have another big X fan weigh in!
Holding A & Y together isn’t easy at all, it feels impossible as a kid! I never even knew about the shoulder button options for the longest time! This was all A & Y, I haven’t used the shoulder buttons yet but I could imagine it’s super nice
Alex Martini haha! you know, after all the NES conquests these weren’t too horrendous overall.. they either took 0-1 game overs except for Blast Hornet and Volt Catfish took 3 and 4 game overs lol but if you just dash and pound their levels, it’s just 3 minutes of play to get back. So you can get a lot of tries in like 20-30 min. I really appreciate you watching and commenting. Edit: to be fair, I went through the general mega man learning curve a long time ago when I got the anniversary collections on GameCube and I got my ASS kicked when I was in high school before I got a lot better.
Great question, yes I used the boots to compare them on an even playing field for the trilogy… but on the end card, you will see we’ve recently covered all of the Mega Man X mavericks Dashless as well… and that does change things quite a LOT!
I could be totally wrong on this but, isn't it quicker to shoot charged shots at armored armadillo and then charge when he preparers his counter attack, dash through them and hit him repeatedly? I always do that, not sure if it's quicker like I said
Oh for sure man, charging isn’t even worth it. That was me showing what it does and getting to learn the fight myself. Charging does the same damage as a regular shot, so you’re definitely right. Don’t bother charging! I appreciate you watching, Zero!
You need to do this again while keeping in mind that only CP can be fought with a capsule obtained. Zero Leg Armor required for the other X1 Mavericks. That’d be hella fun!
Haha yeah, that would stink... basically, if I am to compare all the fights with the same abilities from those 3 games, I needed to have the dash upgrade as a consistent standard otherwise it would just be a bizarre list. Dashless maverick fights across the board though? Yikes... I’m sure it’s possible and I’ve played through some hard games but I don’t really want anything to do with that lol. Appreciate you watching!
While Spark Mandrill may be the only boss to climb on the ceiling actively, Chill Penguin does have that move where he jumps up to grab that hook and activate the icy wind where he'll hang there for a few seconds. I think x1 has the best bosses in the series; with the exception of Armored Armadillo, all of them can be a good first pick, granted of course that you already acquired the dash upgrade, although of course Chill Penguin and Storm Eagle are the easiest. In general I think X1 is the best game in the series and that Capcom really brought their "A team" to the job, the later sequels, even the ones that were decently and competently made pretty much all struck me as very derivative rehashings of the same old same old, and not just merely because they were so formulaic on a surface level, but more so because it just felt like a lot of the creative passion that went into every aspect of X1's design wasn't there. All of the levels in X1 feel so well designed in terms of art direction and gameplay challenge and variety, they have a really classic feel to them later entries do not possess. This goes for other aspects of the game too like the special weapons and armor upgrades and all the new ideas introduced in that game that the sequels piggyback off of. It was really awesome when Zero was made playable in X4, introducing a whole new play style that felt just as refined and valid, if not more so to the subgenre than X's, but there needed to be more stuff like that in the series for it to have stayed interesting as opposed to merely competent at best.
Appreciate you weighing in, man! X is definitely a sick and an excellent title. A lot of people feel that way. There are also a lot of people that love X2 and even X3... I just put up a Mega Man 5 vid, for example, and you already have people saying it’s one of their favorites while others saying it doesn’t compare to the more highly praised entrants. It’s hard to get out of the comparison mindset and view their games on their own merit, so I make sure to do audio visual breaks to give the games the chance to do just that. I believe they’re all at least good to legendary, depending on who you ask. Appreciate the support!
@@MarMaxGaming Thanks, I appreciate the content. With me I feel I have to struggle against my own inherent nostalgia and fanboyism in order to properly judge these games. My childhood acquisition, struggle with, and enjoyment of X1, X3, X4, and X6 were experiences that bordered on the mystical, so I actually attempt to compare these games not to each other, but to other games in the broad meta-genre of sidescrolling "action" games (basically anything that can trace its lineage back to Super Mario Bros) That experience all those years ago of going to Funcoland and getting their only copy of X3, that wasn't even new and still was like 45 bucks and my excitement at getting it home and playing it, is something that is still palpable to me to this day, I remember first hearing criticisms of it and reacting defensively before realizing that yup, almost of all them are valid and nowadays I know that even with the excellent Zero Project content addition and rebalancing romhack, X2, which I never got to play until I was an adult, is the better game, even though it, along with all the sequels, for all of their good gameplay violate the subtle ludonarrative artistic vision of the first game. To me it just feels that the rest of the series, for all of its technical quality, is like a missed opportunity. You can convey a way better ludonarrative experience than the sequels did with the thematic building blocks of a game about post singularity robots fighting each other over the issues of artificial intelligence, free will, and non human personhood, even within the general structure of a mega man game, and you can even preferably tell that story through gameplay. But hey, I'm the type of person who feels that way about most sequels to things I value, I'm the type of person who for instance likes Terminator 1 and Alien more than their respective sequels for those reasons. It's hard for me to shake the sense that even in those cases where the original visionary directed the direct sequel, something was just lost in translation or re-adaptation, maybe the next guy didn't get it on the deepest level of artistic engagement, maybe the creator themselves changed too much in the interim, so that they became almost a different person from who they were when they created the original. Maybe the change was for the "better", idk, this is just a feeling I get about the nature of these works of art.
He is a tough guy! I didn’t have a harder time with the other 9 guys, really, and Sting Chameleon could’ve even been #10 but he’s #11 (on the 24-11 list) you might enjoy that!
I found Gravity Beetle very easy from my own experience, sting chameleon was much harder just because of how ridiculous the spikes raining from the ceiling were. Also, spark mandrill didn’t feel as impossible as launch octopus, and Armored armadillo is pretty simple once you get the hang of it. Morph moth is a boss I feel that people like to exaggerate the difficulty of, because a lot of people don’t know you can stand on the left wall and the dust will never hit you. Sorry for the rambling, just had to get that out
Haha well, fight him again then! Because 2 hits end your life. He may surprise you. Sting Chameleon was at #11, top of the other list 24-11. I even say he could be argued into the top 10. Armadillo is just a freaking turd because you need to shoot him 32 times and he kills you in 3. It’ll feel simple, then whoops… whoops. I lost a few fights at the very end after promising starts. You’ll have to tell me your top 10 then! I appreciate you watching… also have top lists for classic mega man buster only too!
@@zanmolecules4105 oh cool! I appreciate you watching those vids, Zan! That’s a solid Top 10 right there :) something that I talk about in the 24-11 vid is how you can kinda pressure and manipulate Sting Chameleon to not take up your space. In hindsight, I wish I squeezed him in the top 10 somehow… or at least mentioned #11 in this video, because he’s tough!
@@MarMaxGaming update: after getting back into the series, sting chameleon is not even close to number 3. Launch octopus is 3, but no boss is harder than the damn spider from X1
You may enjoy the first vid of #24-#11, Magna Centipede was kinda toward the top of that one :) Sting Chameleon is also really challenging.. barely missed the Top 10! Thanks for watching, Oswaldo!
WONDERFUL list. Been playing Nude with only Heart Tanks and I can definitely relate that some of these Mavericks are REALLY hard if you don't just use their weakness like a normie. To this day I am yet to defeat Blast Hornet or Volt Catfish without upgrades, since X3's damage tables are downright evil. Also, people usually throw shit at Sting Chameleon, but his tongue attack is easy to manipulate by controlling your position. Magna Centipede, however... To this day I don't know how to reliably avoid his virus attack. And... Do you consider Dash Shots as glitches? Because they make Armadillo so much more bearable.
Not charging PERIOD is a good strategy for taking on Armored Armadillo; half the reason people find him to be so difficult is because they rely on charging too much. Not only that, but it also gives him a counter attack if you hit him with a charged shot while he's defending; in short, charging does literally nothing to make the fight any easier. Still can't say he's that tough, though, at least, not as hard as most people make him out to be.
@@matthewkuscienko4616 I didn't even mention charge shots in my comment in the first place. Yes, charging is a terrible idea, since even if you manage to hit it deals the same damage. He's not that hard, but deals some hard damage and ALWAYS(besides dash shots) takes 32 hits to defeat, making his battle very tiresome, which can lead to dumb mistakes after a good deal of time has passed. Edit: But I agree, lol. He's not that hard. Still a nuisance and not easy either.
It's only me that thinks that Armored Armadillo is easier without legs/heart tanks/health tanks than Spark Mandrill? Spark Mandrill is pretty unpredictable, he can be either easy as fuck to win or impossible to win because of the sequences of his punches and jumps when you are in the corner, and, of course, his walls aren't safe(his stage is pretty small compared to the another mavericks), he is strong(takes a lot of damage), quick and if their 3 previous mentioned things aren't enough, he is big making hard to avoid the contact. If we put in the X1 without any upgrade without mavericks, from easiest to hardest, my list would be: 1 - Chill Penguin(impossible to fight without any upgrade since the leg upgrade is always there as you progress his stage) 2 - Flame Mammoth 3 - Boomer Kuwanger(Overrated as fuck when we talk about the difficult to win his battle) 4 - Storm Eagle 5 - Sting Chameleon 6 - Armored Armadillo 7 - Spark Mandrill 8 - Launch Octopus
Bolsonaro e Lula em um 69 I can get down with that! Storm Eagle to me, it’s almost hard to take damage whereas Mammoth has the fireballs a bit more annoying at the end, plus I understand why Kuwanger could be placed lower and Spark Mandrill higher.. solid list! I appreciate you commenting! Are you a fan of nes mega man too at all?
@@MarMaxGaming Only played the first, second and the fourth games, the first one is really hard and i'll still try to finish(played only 3 times in my life), but it's a great game, the second one is the classic one that everyone needs to play before they die, Megaman II is still pretty good, better than the first game and the fourth game was the game that i played the most, i'll need to tell that the Megaman IV has a place on my heart, not good as the second game, but it's a solid one(better than the first one too). Unfortunately i never played Megaman III, V and VI. About Storm Eagle without the dash legs, when he spams his gusts and tornadoes, it's almost impossible to beat him, but it's still possible, he is an easy boss to beat when he tries to fly in your direction.
Bolsonaro e Lula em um 69 that’s good! Yeah, they’re definitely really cool and still fun today.. I actually just did 3 videos on Mega Man 1, 2, and 3 comparing the NES originals to their obscure genesis port oversees in The Wily Wars, I think you would really like it! And yeah, SE would be much more annoying without the dash legs but that was a standard for the list since the other games start with it.. had to compare all with the legs. He’s not impossible though, if you simple press one direction while he dive bombs, he won’t hit you.. and you can just release your charge shot as he goes by! But either way, these all of the standard leg upgrade for consistency and even playing field. I hope to see what you think of the NES VS SEGA mega man videos! You’ll totally dig the style!
Hey Dustin, I appreciate you commenting about that - maybe it’s occurred to you as you watched that X2 and X3 start you with the dash, and the dash is the ONLY UNAVOIDABLE upgrade in the whole game. This was touched on in part 1, of 24-11 before the top 10. But basically as the title says, the idea is these fights have no health, weapon upgrades at all, no optional upgrades of any kind. I just had to use the dash across all the Mavericks to compare apples to apples, considering it’s 100% required to grab anyway. Hope you enjoyed the list!
Just thought if you went through mmx vanilla with no dash it may have changed your rankings. Know it comes standard after this game but it does require a light capsule to get in MMX1. Def like the list man. Enjoyed the vid just would like to maybe see an update no dash maybe in the future of your rankings of original SNES
@@mindseyemusicreview well basically, you can’t, because it’s impossible to fight chill penguin without the dash upgrade… you see the dilemma? There’s no avoiding the dash in that level, it blocks the whole path. Hope that makes sense
@@MarMaxGaming well then again I do think he is hard when you first play mmx. I remember when I had searched for the right first boss and had to look online to find out it’s chill penguin. But even when I did the rps cycle I struggled on fighting it.
@@starrythestar he definitely is, there’s a lot going on.. I had Sting Chameleon at #11 and some would place him above Launch Ocotpus. You’re definitely right about the lack of Dash making things more difficult! I tackled that challenge too, difficulty ranked all 8 of MMX’s mavericks without the dash. Now that gets pretty darn tricky! ruclips.net/video/4ltMRuM1DxE/видео.htmlsi=j8jZFMUEQHwusMTM
Haha this is a Mavericks list, although I know what you mean.. his final form? Quite overwhelming. Try standing on the end of his hand platforms, so those lightnings won’t hit you. Also his weakness is the armadillo rolling shield weapon… you can do it!

Flame stag was my first choice for x2, so I probably disagree with that boss, I can agree with all other boss choice. Spark mandrill I don't seem to have trouble with that one too. Notice how all the ice bosses are not on this list? They seem to be the easiest one lol base from x1 to x4
Perhaps you’re just practiced and good with flame stag! You should see part 1 ranking #24-#11 (easiest to hardest). I think moth and stag are the toughest from X2
@@MarMaxGaming I may have cheesed it but I basically jump up each time after I shot and when he goes up, off screen jump down then charge blast him then repeat. Might be a bit different when he turns blue but that’s basically what I did lol Everyone has their opinions so I respect it. Hopefully it didn’t came as if I was saying you were bad for saying flame stag is tough haha
@@ChuPhuc for sure, there were a couple fights in the overall ranking that I think could be debated and moved a little bit. This had to do with how many deaths at the time, and how it felt overall during the couple days I was working on getting the fight footage. Haha no, I didn’t take it to heart! After all, I did get through all of them with just the buster, so at least I know I can’t suck too bad 🤣 most of these fights just took 1 to 2 game overs (so like, 3 - 6 attempts) and I show the death footage too. But Hornet and Catfish took 4 and 6 game overs, like 12 and 20 tries or so! Honestly, the way my victorious fight with Stag went at the end made me feel like it didn’t need to be so tough, since you can see I kind of started to do what you’re describing.. and I made up a big chunk of health at the end.
I would replace Gravity Beetle with Sting Chameleon. Other than that, I see no other belonging in the top 10. Volt Catfish is BY FAR the hardest though and that's a fact.
Thanks for watching! I think Gravity Beetle does way too much damage to move him off, I could see somebody else moving for Sting Chameleon.. in fact, I was pretty conflicted on him not being in the Top 10, he was #11 overall! Part 1 video was #24 - #11 if you want more buster only maverick action💙
I'd say that Magna Centipede and Sting Chameleon should be listed in the top 10. Toxic Seahorse was my first defeated maverick. Magna probably down near the bottom, but Sting up top. His Iron Tongue attack is brutal!
Adam Rooney I do have Sting Chameleon as #11 and state “he could be argued into the top 10”. You can manipulate his position by standing near him when he’s invincible. I don’t think Magna Centipede is as hard as any of these guys. I have the #24-#11 in part 1. I played through all 24 of them in one sitting on cartridge and stuck to pretty objective standards, and this is what I have. Toxic Seahorse is 1000% NOT the easiest MMX3 maverick, made sure to include plenty of footage and commentary to support the ranks. I appreciate you watching!
@@MarMaxGaming Yeah, I just watched your other video now. I never quite noticed that pattern for Sting, but I'll have to give him another try. I've always found the difficulty of each maverick to fluctuate over time. I found Sting easy as a kid, but hard as an adult. Toxic certainly isn't the easiest, but I'd put Blast, Volt, Crush, and Gravity over him (in that order). Blast Hornet's the only one I haven't beat with only base health and no upgrades. Great video. Thanks for posting!
Adam Rooney damn! Gravity as #1? Well, he’s tricky and does that heavy damage. I can understand! Volt Catfish and all those sparks, plus Toxic with all his nonsense too.. plus Blast has all those bees. I guess the simpler but harder hitting pattern of Gravity just seemed easier to overcome and Crush isn’t too horrible since you can stick next to the wall, get out of projectile, then jump over him, continue from there. That was the great thing about playing all these, it wasn’t an easy list, they’re all challenging and was hoping we would get some engagement and comments!
@@MarMaxGaming I consider Gravity #4. Believe it or not, but he was the second maverick I beat (first was Toxic). I consider Blast Hornet as the toughest in X1, X2, and X3. I actually couldn't believe that you listed Bubble Crab and Crystal Snail so low. I considered those two, along with Magna, as the three toughest in X2. Played Bubble last night using your peppering strategy and beat him without taking damage. I've never really been one to mash the X-Buster. Usually rely on my A-B dash ability.
Adam Rooney ohh, I hear you! I read that backwards! Makes more sense to me too.. so basically, I had 3 game overs for Blast Hornet and 4 for Volt Catfish. Toxic was 3, a few of the others were 2, and some 0-1.
MarMax Gaming I definitely agree with the Toxic Seahorse and the Volt Catfish. I’d replace Blast Hornet with Sting Chameleon though, as Hornet’s sting attack was an easy attack to avoid for me due to the telegraph. Sting Chameleon, however has an extremely difficult to avoid tongue attack, which I needed all health AND armor upgrades to beat
@@TheSuicune7 You can easily manipulate Chameleon's tongue attack by getting close on purpose while he is invincible, then dashing away. His only true problem is the spikes attack, but it's not really that bad.
Andrew I do talk about the way to beat Sting Chameleon in Part 1 but I do say he could be argued into Top 10.. blast hornet’s sting isn’t the main problem, it’s all the damn bees while he constantly does a low hanging figure 8.. I’m sure once you see the fight with sting chameleon and see why he isn’t too horrific. This was just a result of sitting down for a couple hours to slap all 24 of the bosses, based on what seemed to be pretty objective standards with footage to show what I was basing it on. I’m happy you watched and it seems like this video is getting more and more views these days!
Armored armadillo is one of the most predictable X bosses, its easy to learn where he bounces and using charge shots to bait out his charged energy blast for a charged shot after the discharge is how i beat him. I may just have his physics ingrained in my brain compared to most
He totally can be learned and not too bad, but I think I was just emphasizing that he needed 32 hits to die while X could die in 3.. i just recently did a dashless MMX buster mavericks ranking, maybe you’ll agree where I put Armored Armadillo on that one!
He was just outside of the top 10, he's in my #24-#11 list - studio.ruclips.net/user/video3QU4kwr-LPA/edit don't get me wrong, all the fights can be a little dangerous, and it's just based on what I came away with after playing through all of them in a row while making the list. Thanks for watching, man! Mega Man Wily Wars will be coming out soon enough.
Josh Shipman yep! All of these bosses turn into complete jokes for the most part when faced with their weaknesses. It’s like the “get out of jail free” card instead of beating them for real.
@@MarMaxGaming I feel like that's the whole point of giving them a weakness, honestly: it should make them easier to defeat than trying to fight them buster only. Of course, some people prefer the challenge of trying to best them buster only; rather it's to test your skills or to try to learn to play better, it can be a fun challenge to learn how to fight them without using their weaknesses to win. Some people who play the Mega Man games that I watch online actually prefer not to use weapons as much as possible, which is interesting to see the difference in perspectives of certain players.

Haha enjoyed reading it! Im surprised storm Eagle gave you a hard time, you can standard walk/run and his dive bombing will miss! But no dashing definitely makes it harder. Sting Chameleon IS a tough fight, he’s actually #11, on the #24 - #11 part 1 list. Hope you check out the other Top 10s and stuff, Abe!
@@MarMaxGaming actually in first phase just keep dashing far left and far right as a good place to make him miss shoot his bees swarms. And second phase just hide in corners and dont mind the crossmark, honestly died 6 times total with no upgrade or specific weakness gun
@@gaggygiggle8945 right, he actually only took me a couple continues too - which was more than the rest of them aside from Volt Catfish. Obviously it’s very doable, I was able to figure it out after around 6-7 deaths too actually. As far as ranking them, which is what this is, do you think other Mavericks are harder than him? This was basically ranked by how much it had going on, how punishing it was, and how many times I died.

A lot of Megaman X3s difficulty is just dumb
Volt catfish is like a super saiyan baby.
Volt bagre
2:54 "here's an example of how things can go wrong" that was straight up like five seconds
My first playthrough of X3 had me fight Blast Hornet first (I didn't get any upgrades) and Volt Catfish before Tunnel Rhino.
I died inside.
I find it kind of funny how Flame Stage made it onto this list but I personally tackle him first before any other maverick in X2
There’s also part 1 vid #24 - #11 as well, would like to hear who is on your hardest list! Also, nice Kenny and Blue Shell in your pic.. I like it!
Really thorough list !
Keep up the good work.
Maybe you could do the most difficult end stage bosses from X1, X2 and X3 (Sigma Bosses, X Hunters, Doppler Bosses)
Loved it! Dude and agree 100% with that last boss. You had me dying laughing when you were talking about him. Obese 😂😂
Others I believe deseve a mention are Magna Centipede from X2, Chameleon from X1 and the Tunnel Rhino (the drill guy) from X3. But overall, solid list!
Thanks, Ernesto! Part 1 was #24 to #11, and those bosses are all pretty high on that list. Check it out and lmk what you think! :)
Love coming back to these videos when I get into Megaman x again. I cannot wait for you to cover the spider boss in your endgame boss list. Two years ago I busted my balls off trying to beat it on this challenge rule set. I might say he’s a top 10 contender for hardest x bosses of all time
These are cool videos, I hope to see you rank the MMX bosses from the other games!
5:35 Wow I never knew flame stag could do that.
I'd put Sting Chameleon on the list tbh, a pain in the ass without any upgrades (more than the dash)
He was very, very close and I agree he could be argued on there. Part 1 is #24 - #11, and he was #11
@@MarMaxGaming I've seen that vid thx
@@painispootis nice! plenty more where that came from! Also counted down all the robot masters #46 - #21 and Top 20. Appreciate you watching 👍
I was never good at mega man x than last year I changed the dash button to L and I’m amazing.
Holding A & Y together isn’t easy at all, it feels impossible as a kid! I never even knew about the shoulder button options for the longest time! This was all A & Y, I haven’t used the shoulder buttons yet but I could imagine it’s super nice
Yeah I agree volt catfish was the hardest maverick in gba MegaMan x2 I usually save him for last I either go with tunnel rhino or flame.mamoth first
Wheel Gator troubled me more than any boss in this list
That’s interesting, but I can understand.. he was in the first video of #24-#11 if you want to see and hear how that went. Appreciate you watching!
Great video as always, I gotta wonder how long it took you to film this stuff with these bosses. They same insane.
Aren't the dash boots in X an upgrade? you can fight the other mavericks before going to Chil Penquin and getting them
Great question, yes I used the boots to compare them on an even playing field for the trilogy… but on the end card, you will see we’ve recently covered all of the Mega Man X mavericks Dashless as well… and that does change things quite a LOT!
I think I managed to Beat Gravity Beetle once without upgrades or sub-weapons.
That’s not an easy feat, way to go!
My childhood acquisition, struggle with, and enjoyment of X1, X3, X4, and X6 were experiences that bordered on the mystical, so I actually attempt to compare these games not to each other, but to other games in the broad meta-genre of sidescrolling "action" games (basically anything that can trace its lineage back to Super Mario Bros)
That experience all those years ago of going to Funcoland and getting their only copy of X3, that wasn't even new and still was like 45 bucks and my excitement at getting it home and playing it, is something that is still palpable to me to this day, I remember first hearing criticisms of it and reacting defensively before realizing that yup, almost of all them are valid and nowadays I know that even with the excellent Zero Project content addition and rebalancing romhack, X2, which I never got to play until I was an adult, is the better game, even though it, along with all the sequels, for all of their good gameplay violate the subtle ludonarrative artistic vision of the first game.
Chill penguin is the easiest maverick I would even say that blizzard buffalo also same with tunnel rhino who moves only side to side
I hate that armadillo
Launch Octopus should be ranked higher cuz he can still be a bitch even when you have rolling shield and all the health and armor upgrades

Magna Centipede, Armoded armadillo, cat volt fish were the hardest for me
You may enjoy the first vid of #24-#11, Magna Centipede was kinda toward the top of that one :) Sting Chameleon is also really challenging.. barely missed the Top 10! Thanks for watching, Oswaldo!
Whenever I play any X game, I ALWAYS set dash to R because its just too uncomfortable to hit A while charging and avoiding attacks
So true, it's amazing how many people don't even realize that you can do that (like me for the longest time, haha) thanks for watching!
This is why I always call Armored Armadillo "Pedobear"
If we put in the X1 without any upgrade without mavericks, from easiest to hardest, my list would be:
1 - Chill Penguin(impossible to fight without any upgrade since the leg upgrade is always there as you progress his stage)
2 - Flame Mammoth
3 - Boomer Kuwanger(Overrated as fuck when we talk about the difficult to win his battle)
4 - Storm Eagle
5 - Sting Chameleon
6 - Armored Armadillo
7 - Spark Mandrill
8 - Launch Octopus
Hate to nitpick but you said no upgrades. See you dashing around vs launch octopus. Hmm
Super jealous of the Cart collection though. Many a weekend begging my mom to rent these for me from blockbuster
@@mindseyemusicreview well basically, you can’t, because it’s impossible to fight chill penguin without the dash upgrade… you see the dilemma? There’s no avoiding the dash in that level, it blocks the whole path.

@@mindseyemusicreview ah man thanks! There’s a lot more where that came from… other episodes show a lot more of the game wall and stuff like that

@@starrythestar he definitely is, there’s a lot going on.. I had Sting Chameleon at #11 and some would place him above Launch Ocotpus. What about vile from X1? He’s literally impossible to beat! How do you beat him?
Haha this is a Mavericks list, although I know what you mean.. his final form? Quite overwhelming. Try standing on the end of his hand platforms, so those lightnings won’t hit you. Also his weakness is the armadillo rolling shield weapon… you can do it!
no i was actually talking about the intro stage part as a joke.

Wow there is a lot of information and commitment to this comment… appreciate you watching and for sharing all this!
@@MarMaxGaming You're welcome. 😄 🙂
@wackyjackiewackermanfan2021 there’s several other mega man videos on the channel too, I hope you enjoy them! Covered all 6 of the NES games.. buster only ranked all 46 robot masters, plus did a buster only run of mega man 1 too… and have a long vid on mega man X, I appreciate your passion for it!
@@MarMaxGaming Okay. 😄 🙂
This looks hella stressful
You’re the man, Shawn!
Might be a bit different when he turns blue but that’s basically what I did lol
Everyone has their opinions so I respect it.
@@ChuPhuc I’d like to see your opinion on #24-#11 !
Crush Crawfish is easy to me
The fight was going well for me too, until that final stack damage when it was all done.
Who do you think is harder, a few?
I actually had an easy time with Flame Stag. He was my first boss of X2, starting my cycle
Andrew yeah, sometimes he isn’t too bad. I just felt the other bosses were usually easier. What did you think of that Top 3?
MarMax Gaming I definitely agree with the Toxic Seahorse and the Volt Catfish. I’d replace Blast Hornet with Sting Chameleon though, as Hornet’s sting attack was an easy attack to avoid for me due to the telegraph. Sting Chameleon, however has an extremely difficult to avoid tongue attack, which I needed all health AND armor upgrades to beat
Andrew isn’t that interesting! Somehow I had Sting Chameleon at #11.

I may just have his physics ingrained in my brain compared to most
He totally can be learned and not too bad, but I think I was just emphasizing that he needed 32 hits to die while X could die in 3.. i just recently did a dashless MMX buster mavericks ranking, maybe you’ll agree where I put Armored Armadillo on that one!
what about magna centipede?
He was just outside of the top 10, he's in my #24-#11 list - studio.ruclips.net/user/video3QU4kwr-LPA/edit don't get me wrong, all the fights can be a little dangerous, and it's just based on what I came away with after playing through all of them in a row while making the list. Thanks for watching, man! Mega Man Wily Wars will be coming out soon enough.
Also, Spark Mandrill is a Complete Joke with the Shotgun Ice.
@@joshshipman3814 True, but he wasn't counting using the weaknesses against them for this list, so that doesn't apply here.
Some people who play the Mega Man games that I watch online actually prefer not to use weapons as much as possible, which is interesting to see the difference in perspectives of certain players.
heres my list from the snes trilogy
10: sting chameleon do not fight him first like me or else
9: crush crawfish god no nooooo god this dude does so much damage i had to use 2 of my sub tanks when i fought him bruhh
8: Storm eagle i had a problem with this eagle man idk why but i cant dodge his attack where he swoops down god dont unless you fight chill penguin first
7: boomer Kurwanger do i need to say why?
6: neon tiger had to use 3 sub tanks BRUHHHHHHHHHHHH do not fight him unless you start with rhino buffalo and hornet first
5: gravity beetle does so much god dang damage
4: armored armadillo do not whatever you do do not go for him first

3: blast hornet god man this was a painful one unless you have 2 sub tanks
2: WHEEL GATOR GOD I HATE THIS GATOR SO MUCH HE HAS SUCH A LONG ANNOYING FIGHT AND DOES HARD DAMAGE I HATE HIM BUT NOT AS BAD AS NUMBER 1
1: OH GOD Number 1 you all knew this was coming volt catfish god you all knew it though is the funny part i dont need to say anything else thanks for reading my list if you did
Haha enjoyed reading it!

Wtf, hornet is the first boss i battle and i won ?
Well good job! He’s got a lot going on... Anybody you think is harder than him that I placed lower in the top 10 or between 24-11?
Wait, people think Spark Mandrill is hard?
Lol it’s kind of obvious that he is without any upgrades… when you base this on precision, attack power, and room for error..
Let’s hear your Top 10!
