Five Star was Britain’s answer to The Jacksons. Each member played a role in the group’s success as choreographers, writers, stylists, and producers. They were one of the most successful groups from the UK. They spinned holes on the stage of Soul Train with songs “Hide & Seek,” “All Fall Down,” “Shine,” “Let Me Be the One,” & “Strong As Steel.”
Britain has some good 80s soul / R&B , from the cool notes to loose ends.
All their albums and album tracks are fire!
thing i remember most about Five Star is that their poster was on Theo Huxtable's closet door on the second season of The Cosby Show. for years i wondered what that orange and yellow poster was on the door. i never could get a great look at it. the realization hit me like a lightning bolt when i learned that that was a poster of Five Star's "Luxury Of Life" album. crazy. they replaced Michael Jackson's "Billie Jean" poster that was on the door the previous season. sadly, i don't remember hearing any of their music in the 80's. if i did, i was too young to know. i became aware of and got into 5 Star's 80's stuff in the early to mid 1990's. they are an incredible group.
