This is what I do, two ways. Take your brick walls lay them down and spray them with Gray Tamiya Primer. Then sand off the primer from the bricks, the mortor between bricks remain gray. 2, lay down red brick walls and lightly sand bricks, the dust is tan and move it all around in the grooves then dull coat walls.

I start out with tru color paints flat brick red then use tru color gray on a rag and then rub it over the red to simulate the morter and "effervescence" on the brick face

Looks great Chris. How did you paint the red brick, with a brush or spray gun? My problem is when I paint brick i glob it on and the red fills the mortar cracks. I like your technique. Geek technique.

I used an airbrush for the red brick, although I have heard that if you go easy something like Rust-oleum painters touch can work too, but I haven't tried that yet.

I used some of my remaining supply of floquil concrete, not sure what I'm going to use when that runs out.

Yes and a see a bunch of those kits in my future for my streetscape. I think the trick there is going to be to make them all look just a bit different.
