For those of us who don't believe in the Divine, Ne Obliviscaris is a religious experience. This is easily my favorite metal song ever, and MAYBE my second favorite song of all time.
I've been listening to you guys for a couple of years. I remember this was the first NeO song I've ever heard. But watching this video right now I just suddenly started crying at 8:20. This outro is so powerful. You're true artists and since the first time I listened your music, it has embrace my entire soul. I hope to see one of your live shows one day. Greetings from Venezuela.
I recently discovered them and I think they're my new all time favorite band. Beating out Tool. The brutal, heavy dark instrumentals juxtaposed with the light and melodic violin and clean vocals is just too good
On piano: A minor 11th chord then an F major 11th chord, works amazingly because F major being yet another 3rd apart. Plus the chord extension allows for some beautiful sus-y suspensions, makes it really sound like beauty of a final struggle to give all you can give. Best song on the album imo!
I just had the gift of hearing your guys music for the first time last week, my god. Stunning, dark, bright, elegant, beautiful. I'm in love with every song, If you guys ever come to US I WILL be there 😂🤘
Now you know how us Aussies feel about a whole lot of international bands -- I've seen Ne Obliviscaris a dozen times (even worked at a show with them on Saturday) but I would kill to see Primordial, Bolt Thrower, Ihsahn and plenty of other acts who will never tour here :P
i was at this gig. i didn't know their stuff at all before the gig, but my friend assured me that i'd like them…man was he right. I've been a huge fan since! can't wait for the new album!
This song brings me so much nostalgia... just as petrichor does ;) I really hope they keep this song on their setlist because it’s such a perfect intro for a show as well as a perfect outro for an album😊
And am I the only one who laughed at 0:19 when Xen's microphone spins (maybe Xen unintentionally pulled the wire?) and Tim trying to get it back, so cute XD
+Diana C. Hereld Probably another closed minded dick who's like "why are they screaming? This gives me a headache and is so loud no matter how low the volume is....I don;t like things it takes more than half a millisecond to understand..."
Was in Sydney when you played in Melbourne and in Melbourne when you played in Sydney. Will definitely be there next time though! Without doubt my favourite Australian band.
Mind blowing...Hopefully you guys come up to Cairns some day... even though it'd be well worth the money to fly interstate to see you play. This is incredible...
Yeah, I get your point. Still, nothing I've heard can compare with Ne Obliviscaris. Btw, I've seen those three bands and I still think one Ne Obliviscaris gig would be worth all those other gigs :D
Tim is a brilliant violinist, but his vocals unfortunately kind of suck here. His falsettos don't hit the right notes, and he constantly runs out of breath. Otherwise, great performance by the band. Xen's growls are incredible as always.
Live performances have much more going on than you listening to the vocals. It's hard to tune your voice live, that's why bands need proper equipment to adjust this.
Not to mention that a musician's talent isn't only about playing, but composing too. All the songs are the product of the whole band's work and soul, saying "Tim is a brillant violinist but his vocals suck here" is just plain disrespect.
@@KhristianBolano I completely agree that musicians should be judged based on both their performance and compositional skills, and I never called Tim a bad musician or composer - only a bad live vocalist (with a very good voice, that sounds great on the record without any digital trickery). Criticism isn't the same as disrespect, and I fully appreciate all the intense creative work and skill that goes into composing stuff this musically intricate and technical. And while I agree that vocalists can sometimes have a hard time singing in tune live because of factors outside their control, I think there are deeper issues with Tim's vocal technique that aren't the sound engineer's fault, and his (live) singing isn't usually leagues better than what's in this video. I'm from India, and most vocalists from my country are so consistently incredible live and on the record that it's very hard to make excuses for bad technique. It's not like it's unfixable either - I think he just needs a bit more vocal training, which a lot of very successful artists could frankly benefit from. P.S: I also get that hectic touring schedules can affect a vocalist's performance, so that may also be a contributing factor here.
@@bakarenibsheut12 Fair enough bro! I just think that going to a concert is another kind of experience for the listener, so unless the performance is horrible I don't think it really matters if the vocalist underperforms
i was at this gig. i didn't know their stuff at all before the gig, but my friend assured me that i'd like them…man was he right. I've been a huge fan since! can't wait for the new album!
This song seriously is a masterpiece. Every instrument, every note.
esp that final solo that is kind of a battle btwn violin and guitar, it just blows my mind every single fuckin time
Dudes are criminally underrated

What can I say except "same"
Hands down the most talented band in metal today
Damn he can fucking growl
OMFG wtf happened from 8:00 to the end. This is so beautiful
The last section with the clean guitar and the singer's low register is amazing!

I'm a little disappointed they didn't hum over the ending violin solo like in the record, but this was freaking great!
Wow that was a nuclear eargasm , I won't recover from that taking it to the grave 😄🤘
Please keep doing music guys 🙏🤘🏼

A fucking gem. These guys deserve so much more
One of the best live videos I've ever seen!
How is nobody talking about the part on 3:56. That sounds even more incredible live than in the studio version, holy shit.
This part is my fav of the whole song it’s soooo kickass how the violin starts off a battle of sik metal 🤘
Can we see y’all close out San Antonio with this song later this year!? 😃🤘🏽

So fuckin good!
Amazing performance!
Absolutely killer show! Myraeth were brutal too, some of the best Australian Death/Doom metal I've heard.
Dan Presland at 28 fuckin years, sounding like a record. What an inhuman drummer. Master.
Ugh this is so amazing! I just want to see them live now!

♥️🖤🤘🏻😍🤘🏻♥️🖤
If you think Agalloch or Dornenreich are good you need to hear Gris. Especially their newest record. It'll blow your fucking mind.
Why wasn't their a flash warning
finally a band that is progressive but does not use 7 to 10 stringed downtuned guitars
Opeth. d'uh
Aergios true! but opeth isnt really making death metal anymore
+newblife New album has 7 strings :D
Warning! Not for people with epilepsy and bad taste in music!
Who's doing the clean vocals on the record? same guy? Cuz he sounds different.
Tim charles,he most definitely is the same person
Khalid AlQattan Same guy. Tim Charles is the band's clean vocalist and the violinist - as you can see.
they should change their publicity and management team. because they must be doing a bad job at creating the fame this band deserve
great song, odd choice for an opener though.
