Now this is what a live show should sound like. The growls sounding as brutal as they do on the record, the singer on pitch, the lead guitarist playing the ridiculous solo he recorded note for note. Some bands just can't seem to pull off these things these days which is a shame.
These guys are amazing live. Absolutely blew my mind, they hit all the notes and the violinist sang and played at the same time in parts, how is that even possible?
I also saw them live while I was living in Japan. The first half of their set was an acoustic one, which was of course absolutely beautiful, and the second half was all of Urn. Needless to say I think I can say it was the best concert I've ever been too. Me and my friend, who I got into NeO, were absolutely stunned. The quality all around was spectacular. Really hope I'll have the chance to see them again some day.
agreed except for the note for note part, I like it when they get more creative then just the solo from the record, but it really depends on the song though. else I might as well just listen to the album version then
A few things that stood out the most for me: 1. For some context, the whole song "Painters of the tempest" revolves ultimately on Anti-war, showing us the effects before, present, and after. The main song (This one, Part II being Triptych Lux), Triptych being a 3-panel painting. A website explains that the the 3-panel paintings portray 3 aspects, the creator (supposedly in general, the painter), the cynosure (centre of attention and admiration) and the curator (Keeper of museums, art, or any other collection). These 3 aspects can portray how war is seen, creator being the war, cynosure being those who make the most impact and the curator, who will remember these events in a good or bad way, possibly by a celestial being who watches over (Like the dove/angels in the holy trinity of Jesus Christ, or any other higher being who looks down on us) 2. Each instrument gets to show off their talents. This is the incredible thing I noticed about this song and I'll add timestamps for you to hear how amazing they are when they play their own individual pieces: (I'll only give my fav ones cuz there are so many great parts) Bass guitar, powerful --- [0:15 - 0:41] [10:05 - 11:08] [11:08 - 12:08, exactly 1 min?!] 2nd guitar, beautiful --- [8:56 - 9:21] [12:08 - 12:43] Two-faced growler (Two faced because he has a low growl but also a snarky one too, making him sound like two sides), fierce --- [2:40 - 2:57] [5:10 - 5:19] Violinist --- [1:51 - 2:40] [9:21 - 10:06] [11:42 - 15:10] Melody singer (Violin guy) --- [2:57 - 3:21] [7:35 - 8:59] [15:09 - 16:19] Drummer -- [5:10 - 6:04] [11:08 - 12:08] For the best parts on (most) instruments in general, use this timestamp! [ 7:17 - 11:09 ] 3. Responding to number 1 about the creator, curator and cynosure, it almost gives us power in a sense, as the song gives it's incredible energy to us, resembling how destructive and absorbing nature is to someone who sees it on a personal level. To someone else, it may just seem like a flex when we see someone do crazy things, but we all have to remember that they are humans like us, and everything is just done through practise and dedication. The song takes a look at finding meaning through destruction and the pointless loss of life that we paint ourselves on a presumed timeline. We are all artists in our own way, to create and destroy as well. On an added note, it also tells us that we leave behind a legacy, no matter how big or small, it will be permanently grafted onto the threads of time like a birth certificate, etc. It's up to us on how we help remember that event, but to each event that occurs, it will always have an impact on someone or something, and that's a real life lesson humanity faces every day on it's struggle to survival and evolution.
The album version is one of the most epic songs I've ever heard, and I don't throw that word around lightly. The best way to listen to it is sober, best euphoria ever. When I'm baked, it makes me lose myself and drunk... tear up.
@@erxan4163 NEO doesnt actually have a genre, people go to say that its either black metal to things like neoclassical gypsy extreme progressive black metal. I just call it Ne obliviscaris music lol
this is the first live thing that actually resembles the studio recording and matches its quality. keep in mind that all the parts, except maybe the violin, are extremely technical
It was found out that he was physically abusing his wife, so they let him go. He was abused by his mother as a child which was definitely a factor as to why he did it, but obviously, still inexcusable.

These guys are just on a level that has never existed before. They are going to be huge!!!
They were huge already when they released the demo with those 3 songs. Everybody was playing that record, everybody!
I think the word of mouth is starting to help them. I just discovered them by mistake. A awesome mistake that is.
Will actually also found them through a misclick on a belakor video truely awesome
