I had a "F" for my literature paper in 2018 A/L. My life fell apart... I'm still recovering from the failure. But reading waiting for godot is one of the best things that happened in my life. I have the strength of mind to cope. Reading made me who I am. Anyone who is interested in choosing lit as a subject must possess the highest level of capacity of the language. Subjectivity is the key here. And it varies a lot.

do not speak any Sinhala word please / English should be taught only in English especially literature , because the students who select literature should in a good position to understand what you say in English if not they are not suitable for learning literature

It's not a must to select English literature at the university. But if you do literature for the degree you can have lot of opportunities
