  • Its not too often that you come across a Hudson car but its even rarely you come across a Hudson Pickup. Legendary Hobo Jack aka Backwood Jack has had this 1946 Hudson Pickup for over 20 years. Mother nature almost had it consumed but Papa Lynn with the help from his pal Bill and Hotrod Hudsons dad supervising, the 46 pickup is resurrected from its grave. #1946 #centralillinois #commodore #hotrod #hudson #hudsontruck #restoration #hobos #hobojack #pickuptruck #classiccars #ratrods #ratrod #hotrods #americana #americanpickers #americanpicker #pickers #pickersmarket #rust #rusty #rustycar #rustytruck #antique #antiques

That is more than a big wallet job. Sad that us old guys think we will get to it someday. I met Jack in Palmer Alaska playing music back in the seventies..... no idea that he was even alive! Lots of surprises in your video. Takes more than just talent to resurrect this kind of job... all said and done, wishing you a ton of luck bringing it around again. Fellow found one in canada quite a few years ago and the whole building had fell down around it. Took several days to just get everything around the rig moved away but when removed they found it was in super good condition.... even odder was after just bit of work, it ran and drove onto its rescue rig!! That one went somewhere back east USA.

Yes. I believe he was on there for two episodes. If you look him up on RUclips, he was also at Mike's opening of the American Pickers store in Nashville. I asked him about still playing the guitar, and he nodded his head with a yes and smiled.

Hudson was one of the cars of choice in derbies back in the early '60s. I never saw a Hudson truck, I was always exposed to Chevys, But the very first photo of me was taken in July 1946 when I was seven months old, my father is standing beside his late 1930 white Hudson holding me up for the camera. He loved Hudson's and Cadillac's

Saving it is step #1 then comes stabilizing it because there is not enough of it left to warrant a restoration . the best thing would be in my opinion would be newer drive train and chase and above all save the pentina and the head. And then put her back on the rode and enjoy every minute you spend driving a 78 year old classics. Or at least that's is how I do it to mine now.
