I just completed this huge tutorial and it didn't work out as I had hoped, so I came here because I know Ryan knows his stuff. But I didn't want to go through the whole process again. So I just bought it. Thanks Ryan.
These videos are so much fun to follow along with, or even just watch. Thanks for the quality content!
Glad you like them!
Your tutorials continue to be very helpful!
Glad to hear that!
Great tutorial as always. Thanks. Here's a little extra information about the musgrave texture node that most people don't know: Unlike most other textures the musgrave factor output is NOT limited to the range [0,1]. Depending on the settings for scale, detail etc. it outputs values around the range [-3, 3]...sometimes[-2, 2]. So you can get a lot more detail by using the map range node!
To check out the range I use a math node using the 'greater than'/'less than' setting and give it a few tries.
Thanks for the info! I will try that.
Now with the new asset library, I'm going to go back and do all the procedural tutorials that I didn't have a use for yet now that they'll be handy when I do! Thanks Ryan!
Yes!! The asset browser is so awesome! I've set it up with all my Procedural materials!
I do the same. All these are great for basic material library ;)
More Procedural materials! I love it! That sandstone looks fantastic!
Thanks so much for sharing with us.
Time for your Monday morning WOO:
WOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!! :)
I hope you have a fantastic week my friend. :)
Thanks again!!
So the material you made looks like real in nature. Great work.
Thanks for this tutorial.
I will rework this today
Cool, thanks!
you got my follow! Well done simple and clean. Thank you mate!
Thanks for the sub!
Simple and Proficient. Thank you.
You're welcome!
amazing tutorial! thank you so much
You're very welcome!
I had to turn the playspeed down to 5 to keep up, this is very good means not wasting time thank you

Incredible!! I think I might make a desert scene now with the sandstone & cobblestone 😂
Sounds like a great idea!
@@RyanKingArt Yeah!! And for Christmas, I'll make a cosy scene with a fireplace, cookies, and a bottle of brandy 😂
@@CGcelestial Nice!
Looks great! Any reason why you didn't use displacement instead of bump for the third (and maybe second) bump noise-textures?
No, you could totally do that. I just wanted to use the bump. : )
your thumbnail included a 'split-face' stone texture on a more rectilinear surface (in addition to the sphere), which is what I need for a more architectural purpose; how would that be achieved?
I just did a Google search and low and behold, guess who shows up? You're inescapable.
Haha cool! Hope you liked the tutorial. Thanks for your support!
Men i really really like the video it is the best
Thanks!
Nice. :)
Thank you 😃
Is there a way to convert the bump nodes to a displacement? Or should I mix the noises with RGBmix nodes to make a height map and then use a single bump node for normal and displacement for displacement?
Actually, you can take any texture, and put it into the height value of the displacement node, and it will be converted to displacement data.
@@RyanKingArt when I tried that the displacement was not showing the details. Maybe I need to multiply it to increase the contrast
@@gordon1201 Yeah, you might need to do that, or turn up the strength.
How can we use that texture in another file after making it once so that we don't have to deal with individual notes each time?
you can use blender's append feature to add your material to any project.
is it possible to import a model, as an stl, for example from onshape, and then apply this texture as heometry and import it back into onshape?
I'm not sure. I never used onshape before.
Can you mention the version of Blender that you are using (or is it visible somewhere)? I watched another of your videos and my Blender 2.92.0 does not work exactly the same way.
if you look in the very bottom right of the screen, blender will display the version. when I made this tutoral, version 3.0 was the current version, and you can see in the bottom right it says: 3.0
@@RyanKingArt thank you. I didn’t see that. I’ve watched a couple of your videos and now I know little about creating chese and concrete balls 😂. Thanks for the videos.
Whats the use of mapping node.? Where is its useful.?
You can use the mapping node to change the transform of the texture. So you can change the scale, rotation, or location.
Can you do sci fi panels too?
I've been wanting to do that. Thanks for the idea!!
The Musgrave texture does not show up when I search in the shader.
it was removed in the new blender update, but you can get the same effect using the noise texture.
@@RyanKingArt thank you that worked great.
Great material! ONE question though, this is called procedural material but what are those material when we use images for same. Does it have anh performance impact?
Procedural materials are less performance friendly than usual materials. But you can bake them into a texture to help with that.
@@faguolvlv means images of pbr are more optimized?
Image textures are not Procedural. Procedural means that its using only the resources that it has within Blender. So its not using any external files.
@@RyanKingArt great thank you
I NEED TO GET TO BED BUT I REALY WANT TO DO this
you should make sure you get enough sleep first. 🙂
one side looks great the others look fine except their are very straight textural lines streaked through those sides. is this normal their so small most people wouldn't notice. just wondering if anyone else is having this issue?
Hmm that's odd. Not sure why that is.
@@RyanKingArt i figured it out i accidentally used a wave noise texture. instead of a simple noise texture.
@@patrickloper7864 Ahh ok.
my blender suddenly have different values . This happens when I use the Texture Coordinate (object) The values in the tutorials doesn't match .I have to use .5 instead of 5 for example . I already apply Scale
Hmm... yeah, the object coordinates, will be a bit different, but I an using them too. And if you've applied the scale, then I don't know what the issue is. maybe your objects are just a different size.
@@RyanKingArt It was de the units scales. The objects have different size . For example in 1.000 units the cylinder is like 20m while de Quadratic sphere is about 3.I ll manually change the default value of all the objects.
@@eyusvila2014 Ahh ok.
@@RyanKingArt sadly i have to work only with 1.00 units . i don't found the way to the primitives' to rescale .
Can you do how to sculpt realistic 🐢 in blender plz replay
Thanks for the tutorial idea!
@@RyanKingArt welcome sir are you making this tutorial
