    I have dealt with hair loss for years and have tried numerous other products and never saw that it made much difference . I bought this product after watching Angie's first review of it. I had never heard of it before. The Hairmax headband is very easy to use, and both me and my hairdresser are actually seeing a difference. I agree, it is expensive, but they do give a full refund if you’re not satisfied after 5 months. I was planning on returning it if I wasn’t getting results, but I am very satisfied and will continue using it. My hair truly looks and feels thicker.

      Since I started using the Hairmax headband four years ago there are several other brands on the market now that may be just as good and possibly less money. However, I use the headband Angie used and it still works great. Just know, it takes several months to see results. Also, if you stop using it for an extended period of time, you will see hair loss again. So it’s a lifetime commitment, but I figure 90 seconds every other day I can handle. Hope this helps.

    My hair has been thinning for years. I tried minoxidil and my scalp got terribly itchy and I developed a rash on my head. Of course, that was the end of that. I’ve been using Irestore and I love it. I’ve been using it for about a year now and my hair has really thickened up. I couldn’t be happier. I think low-laser light therapy is the way to go for many of us.

    I bought the Hairmax laser comb several years ago. It’s considerably cheaper than Angie’s ‘cap’ which they brought out around a year ago. I live in the UK and after seeing Angie’s video of the cap I went to look at it in Harrods. Personally I much prefer my comb. The cap is quite heave and if you don’t have the right shape head it won’t fit comfortably. The comb is better but takes about 12 minutes to use but you can specifically target the areas of thinning hair. It does work. My hair is thicker and in much better condition too..

    Suggestion for how to compare before and after: Part your hair in the area of interest and take a close-up of your part. If your hair is thinning, the part will be come slightly wider, or thinner if you have new growth. The difference will be very small but at least objective. Just a thought.

    Hi, Angie, I see the difference in all of those photos. I am a menopausal woman...and I had noticed my hair thinning more and more. I decided to try the Nioxin Diamax Advance thickening treatment. It thicken my hair slightly at the hair line in the front.Then I started to notice baby hairs growing back, it must have been the massaging of my scale that did it. They say if you tip your head down and massage your scalp it will stimulate the hair to grow. I told my hair dressers, who was very sceptical. She said it may have been the hairs breaking after my colouring that I was seeing. I stopped colouring my hair about a year and half ago to let my greys come out. I got all my hair cut to a pixie style, I am a nice shade of salt and pepper.(The colour most young ladies are dying their hair...lol.)
    So when I go back for a trim, she will see that there are baby’s hairs growing there now and it’s not from breaking hair from the colour. I have been using the Nioxin that for about two years and have noticed it has made a difference for me. I have very fine thin hair and I will take any improvement big or small. Have a great day...🤗❤️ Newfoundland 🇨🇦

    Based on your previous video I switched from the foam minoxidil to the liquid. I didn't realize the ingredients other than the minoxidil were so different between the foam and the liquid, and possibly problematic. I had a severe reaction to the alcohol that's in the liquid formulation. I actually LOST more hair. When I read up on the liquid, it states those who have reactions to this other formulation could lose hair, yikes! I know it's not your fault, it's my sensitivity. I'm just giving a heads up. Again as a follower of your journey, I have purchased the pricey HairMax Laserband 82. I find it easy to use. I like the fact that I don't have to concern myself with ingredients. It's quick to use. I think your results are noticeable enough for me to 'go for it.' Thanks for sharing...

    At first, I thought, holy cow! Then I realized I was looking at the after picture, thinking it was the before picture. Backing it up it to look again, I noticed that the before picture had more gray hair. The after had dark hair. In my own hair, the temples look a lot more full with the color on the hair than when the hair is white (my temples and around my face have snow white hair once grown out). If you see a difference though, that’s what matters.

    • @misssunnydee
      @misssunnydee 5 лет назад +2

      Dermaroller? Really? I also have alopecia androgenetica which gets even worse when you're menopausal (I currently take dutasteride " illegally": the Dermatologist foundation in my country refuses it to women despite the fact it works! There's one trichologist here that does prescribe it to women if you're willing to pay for it yourself and if you do not get pregnant (it can be harmful to Male embryos). I already had a monk's round on the back of my head, a widows peak and very broad separations. Some of that grew back in with these pills, even though it costs me a second hand car every year. Now that I'm menopausal my hair loss is getting worse again with whole hands full on my pillow and after/ during brushing and showering. You can see a bald spot in the back and my mid section is terrible. I always do a side separation on the same side (other side looks better but there you see too much of my skull already).
      Why the long intro. Well I used HairMaxx too. Their brush apparatus. It is the same as this thing only manually. After 7mths I still saw absolutely no result, whereas with Dutasteride (0.15mg by the way) the results were visible after 3 months and quite drastically too (after one month I also noticed a major difference in hair loss). I personally think this is a waste of money. It costed me almost €500. For that I could've had almost 2mths of pills - even though they work way way less now that my hormones are different.

    • @misssunnydee
      @misssunnydee 5 лет назад +1

      Could you please explain to me what a dermaroller is (those thing with the little needles you can buy from Amazon? Or wish/Aliexpress?) How would that work then? What do I need to buy, what do I need to do? Please, can you tell me? I'm from Europe.
      In my other comment you can see why this is super important to me. I know one day I might have to wear a wig, but the longer I can still wear my own hair and look pretty the better! I already have 7 other illnesses making me look older than Angie and less fresh while I'm only 41yo due to pain, lack of sleep, hardship, skin symptoms etc., so ANY tip that helps: I'm game! Thanks!

    I have massive post surgery hair loss, I've lost about half my hair now and it really, really sucks. They have minoxidil in pill form and I just got a perscription for it, it's has shown good results in studies and is easier to take every day.. I've also started taking Super B complex, zinc and extra biotin, those are helping too. Be sure and get your protein in whether it's beans, meat or a protein drink, it's very important as your hair needs that to grow. My Doc also said to ditch the ponytail, it just makes the hair loss worse.

Peptides are the active ingredient in lash and brow growth serums like Latisse. You massage the serum into your scalp before bed. It's great. I started using minoxidil on my eyebrows, along with rapid lash, and saw great results. I decided to use it on my temple area and hairline to help with thinning. My hair is white completely around my hairline in front and the minoxidil turned it golden due to the oxidation of retinol in the product. This doesn’t wash out. I just got it cut out from Timeless citric acid serum I was using on my face. This also discolored my fingernails. So I bought a hairmax 9 to see how well a laser works before upgrading to a more expensive device. Just started, so we’ll wait and see.

    Your hair has looked really good lately Angie! The lighter blonde highlights really flatter you. I've been using collagen (alternating powder and tablets) AM & PM on an empty stomach with some vit C since January and have noticed a bunch of new baby hairs coming in. My hairdresser commented on it too. Maybe a coincidence but I feel it's helping my skin too, so will continue. Time will reveal all!

    Angie what is the rationale behind the laser stimulation of hair growth please?
    Would you ask the manufacturer and let us know please?
    I have found that 1 teaspoon of Nettle seeds twice daily 15mins before meals
    And Nettle leaf powder added to hair treatment and left one for an hour or more then washed out weekly has really improved the thickness health shine & luster of my hair
    It was looking thin limp and lackluster a year ago
    Still interested in anything else that make it even better :)

    Hello Angie
    I am battling with hairloss for 24 years..
    I was introduced to Minoxidil 22 years ago by dr Alexander in Bedfordview South Africa where I consulted and order 11% strength Minoxidil from.
    I will never be able to go off it as excessive hairfall starts almost immediately.
    As I am on a maintenance programme I use it only the evenings before I wash my hair.
    It therefore never looks greasy..
    Plse try again as he believes that 5% will be good enough for a 12yr old child only
    Love Elmarie

      @reneeca5696 5 лет назад +1

      Elmarie Fourie, can you give directions as to how you apply it? Do you apply and leave on for a certain period of time, and then wash out? and then is it daily? Also, this may be redundant, and I'm sorry if it is, but have you had your hormones evaluated-it could be the cause and quite common. Thank you!

    • @elmariefourie6905

      Hi there
      I apply it on dry scalp the evening before washing my hair.
      When I had extreme hairloss I did it every evening but am now only on a maintenance programme . I leave it on till the next morning and then only wash it off.
      Once a year I do a monthly programme on the scalp of pure caffeine , B-solution combined with the Minoxidil 11% just to give it a boost.
      My sister has hormonal hairloss but I do get tested in every way by an endocrinologist every 2nd year as I am over 50 and have absolutely no hormonal problems.
      My hairloss is stress and auto immune related .
      My Docter do video calls at a consultation charge and also courier his product internationally.

    Minoxidil made me hair fall out more, plus it left it feeling gross. I read that it does that before it stops and starts to grow more in, but I didn’t want to take the chance, plus I hated the feeling of it in my hair. I bought the lasermax comb, and while it takes longer per session than the band, I definitely think it’s working for my hair. The thinning at the temples hasn’t really gotten better, but my overall thinning has slowed; I have much much less hair fallout when I wash my hair now, I’ve only had it about 5 months, so it’s still hard to tell, but overall I, pleased. I bought mine new off eBay, it was cheaper than buying direct!

    I see a marked improvement in your hair growth. It was easy to see!
    Minoxodil- I could taste it in my sinus when applied to my temples. It stops working if I stop using it. I dont want to use minoxidil forever! I dont thinks that's good. I am looking to amboy this laser band - front and temples are thinning. I hope it works for me. They have cheaper alternatives (less actual lasers). Dies that matter? They look like LED lights. I wonder - is LED therapy a good thing for hair growth/scalp health.
    Thanks for your honest review!

    Hi Angie, always love your videos and really appreciate your honesty! I’m wondering if when you use this device do you also use the shampoo, conditioner, vitamins and serum they promote as well or the device alone. I’ve been using the iRestore helmet and all the “extras” for a few months now and can see some improvement but not enough to not think about returning it for a refund. I can still use it for a few more months. The thing I’m wondering is do you prefer this device over the iRestore purely because it is somewhat cumbersome or do you have other reasons. I’m thinking it’s going to be difficult to travel with as I do travel a lot! I’m looking forward to your reply! Cheers!

    Hello! Thank you for doing such in-depth reviews... Thank you for all the research you put into the red light products for your face. I have similar questions for the red light products for your hair... I am confused as to why, the professional iRestore only has 82 laser diodes and 200 Led lights... It makes the over all number look good.... But all the other devices far exceed the number of Laser Diodes and have no Led Lights. In my research only the Laser Diodes improve the hair condition, and not Led lights... An I correct? Why then would a product with so many Led lights and so few laser Diodes be considered so highly? What am I missing? These devices are expensive and I don’t want to waste my money when I could buy a device with more laser diodes... Am I missing a positive of having more Led Lights along with just a few laser diodes??

    • @AngieHotandFlashy
      @AngieHotandFlashy  3 года назад +4

      As I understand red light & hair growth, only laser lights work and LEDs don't. That's why I recommend the HairMax which uses only laser lights. But if you compare the 2 devices, they both have 82 laser lights.

    • @MrAshtonone

      Janice G - Awesome to hear you are seeing results. Which Biotin are you using? I have been using standard Biotin from Nature Made 5,000mg per day dose and have been doing so since November and my hair is growing faster, getting thicker from new growth, feels and looks healthier. My hair stylist and I have both seen a difference in my hair growth rate, new growth (baby hairs) and thickness. Unfortunately, my last stylist was in a hurry to finish up my service in November (at a large retail store with Salon services) and they were close to closing for the night. Color service took longer and I really wish she would have asked me to come back to do my cut instead of rushing because it was close to closing time and store managers get unhappy if a stylist is holding up closing. She got flustered from the side eye and snippy look from the manager (yes, I saw the exchange), and got anxious and stressed and lost her focus. Instead of bringing up the back to even out the length and continue to allow my front and sides to grow as we had been doing, she cut my front, left the back, face framed me and cut four inches off my bangs and sides - six months of growth out the window. We had a set standard of how my hair was to be trimmed and nothing more until the length grew out enough to do the cut we patiently waited for my hair to grow into. At $400 per touch up for color (basically a full refresh every four weeks) since she only used gloss (reds, browns, and my blonde), it was getting cost prohibitive and with the dark colors I noticed grey coming in and it was not covered after full service and the mistake with my cut (it will grow back and we did not discuss grey cover-up) huh, are you crazy, who pays $400 to walk out with greys showing everywhere she did not know existed, and you don't think this should be addressed or even mention, hey your root line is showing do you want to do x or wait) (it will grow back and we did not discuss roots against dark colors is the wrong response). I am easy, same colors, same deal with cut, show up on time, just do your thing, and make sure it looks great. I brought my sister, niece and other clients to her. She lost me and my sister, my niece still goes for a cut. Shame she is talented but common sense should prevail here. So glad you are seeing good results 🌷

    • @loveforeignaccents
      @loveforeignaccents 5 лет назад +1

      If your shampoo is too stripping, try switching to something paraben-free and silicone-free. Don't know if your hair is curly and/or wavy, but Shea Moisture is very affordable and offers lots of shampoos/conditioners, etc., for those hair types.

    • @sawamichelle
      @sawamichelle 5 лет назад

      @@loveforeignaccents thank you sweetie! I actually like stripping ones bc I work out very hard daily, sweat so much and hair gets stinky so I need to wash my hair daily. So minoxidil balances it out by adding oiliness :)

    • @ocandro
      @ocandro 5 лет назад

      @@sawamichelle the person above doesn't know what they are talking about. Silicones are not detergents and they do not strip your hair. Parabens are preservatives that were falsely linked to cancer and do zero harm to skin and hair.
      As for your workouts, even the most gentle shampoo will get your hair clean from sweat! Sulphates etc are only needed for people, who use products that build up on hair - silicones, waxes, mineral oils. Don't switch to Shea Moisture if you use such products, or you'll experience terrible buildup, breakage and hair loss! Besides, Shea moisture is not a good brand, has Shea butter in all products and its just not a good ingredient to use consistently, extremely heavy, horrible for oily/breakout prone skin and also tends to build up, especially with weak detergents in their shampoos, that's why so many people get itchy scalp and fungus overgrowth with SM. If you use silicones etc, find something with Sodium C14-16 Oleffin Sulfonate - nice, happy medium, if not, look for something truly gentle, like coconut derived surphactants and only use a harsh shampoo every 3 weeks or so. It's important to moisturize the scalp and use the most gentle shampoo you can get away with when you wash it too often.

    • @sawamichelle
      @sawamichelle 5 лет назад

      @@ocandro thank you. I agree, I could be having nicer hair by using sulphonates. I find ethoxylated sulfates and even betaines clog up my skin. I break out bc my oily scalp gets clogged by hint of anything that is hydrophobic, silicones as u said def do. I have my hair up every waking moment, so I feel like any effort to make hair look healthy doesn't show in a tight topknot anyway. I run daily and my hair is always gym ready. Tight buns causes me more hair loss, but running makes me happy, I am in a vicous cycle lol. I don't even use conditioner bc it breaks me out after my scalp sweats. And I love how old school heavy waxy conditioners used to weigh down my hair, and no silicones back then, but they don't make those anymore! ALS and SLS are my go to stripping shampoo ingredients, but I might switch over to soap bars, which is even more cleansing. I'm that oily.
