We are in the process of extending pe and pto Where I'm stuck is completing the document "Request to modify the conditions of stay, extend the stay or remain in Canada as a worker". There are some ambiguous questions: - In the very first part, point 3: "The subject of my request includes one or more of the following points". I have 4 possibilities which are "A work permit for the same employer", "An initial work permit or for a new employer", "Reestablishment of temporary resident status as a worker", "Temporary residence permit". I want to renew my open work permit and therefore keep an open work permit, but this option is not there... Which one?

I applied for a study permit extension along with my wife's open work permit extension for my first course. Now I want to apply for second extension and the first one is still under processing. What do I do now? And people are saying my wife's open work permit will be rejected because after May March 2024 they stopped giving open work permit to spouses of college students. But we are already on shore and she does have a open work permit which is expired. But it's still under processing of extension. So can you suggest me in this situation what to do? I am a little confused here. There is a Family Member Proof of Status section and that is where we are required to upload spouse's work permit. Therefore, I believe we only have to upload the spouse's passport in the Passport section under Family Member, and not the work permit as well. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Hi. If you are working or will work in the health industry dealing with patients, you will need an updated medical exam. Otherwise, no medical required. As long as you submitted your application before expiry, you will be on implied status and that is fine.

Hi. If IRCC informed you that they have some backlogs, then all you can do is wait. On my last extension, we waited for 7 months before we received the results.

Hello. Study permit is the paper document allowing you to stay in Canada while the study visa is the stamp on your passport. You can stay in Canada with a valid study permit even though your visa is expired provided that you won’t go out of the country. If you will be out of the country, you need to renew your visa.

PLEASE REPLY !!! I have downloaded the IMM5709e form but when I open it in Acrobat, it says the validity of the document certification is UNKNOWN. The author could not be verified. But in your video it says certified by IRCC. It's not the same with my case. Hello, thank you for sharing this. I would like to ask why you didn’t put in for the first and second extension at the same time? What would you advise someone with similar issue who needs to extend her current study permit because she was issued that based on the resumption date of September 2022 with the intention of her program ending in April 2023. However, her visa was delayed and she got a deferment to resume school in January 2023 meanwhile, the study will be ending in August but her study permit is currently showing July 2023. Now, she needs that to be extended and an extension means that they will give her extra three months (August-November). Her case two is that she already secured a second admission to resume January 2024 so she is of the opinion that she applies for both the first degree extension and her new admission extension. What would you advise?

Does it need that the proof of funds like the Bank Certificate, and Bank Statement should be under the name of the SP? Is it not allowed to be under the name of the spouse(OWP)
@simplyluz so if we can submit file for husband wife in one file in that case suppose wife is primary applicant then can we have to submit husband documents in same file. For example if i am putting my wife’s passport scan copy in same pdf should i put mine as well ?
Hi. You must submit the files separately. On the website, there are separate fields for the principal applicant and dependent applicants to upload their documents.

@@karledig1827 hi. No need na ng financial docs ng owp. Only the student. I would suggest including bank statements because that’s what we did. But some only submitted bank certificates and it worked for them too.

Hello, I’ve heard of people who submitted only $5,000 in proof of funds when extending their permits, and they were approved. However, that’s their experience and may not apply to everyone. You can decide if you want to do the same. It’s preferable if your parents can transfer the funds to your account. This way, the money will be in your name, and you won’t need to provide additional supporting documents.

Hello. Webform is for changes of contact information only like address, marriage, employment, etc. It can also be used for following up if your application exceeded the normal processing time. What will happen is if you get your approval this year, you can go here in Canada before your class starts in April and just apply for extension and reason is deferment.

Hi. If he will finish in April, you will be given extra 3 months after the program so your new expiry should be July.

I have downloaded the IMM5709e form but when I open it in Acrobat, it says the validity of the document certification is UNKNOWN. The author could not be verified. But in your video it says certified by IRCC. It's not the same with my case. I have filled everything and it did get validated and got barcodes but I am afraid if I should submit the application if it has such message at the top. Please help, it has been late for my extension.

Hello, thank you for sharing this. I would like to ask why you didn’t put in for the first and second extension at the same time? What would you advise someone with similar issue who needs to extend her current study permit because she was issued that based on the resumption date of September 2022 with the intention of her program ending in April 2023. However, her visa was delayed and she got a deferment to resume school in January 2023 meanwhile, the study will be ending in August but her study permit is currently showing July 2023. Now, she needs that to be extended and an extension means that they will give her extra three months (August-November).
Her case two is that she already secured a second admission to resume January 2024 so she is of the opinion that she applies for both the first degree extension and her new admission extension. What would you advise?
Also, this person has a spouse and would be applying for a work permit for her spouse. Would you advise that she merge all together and explain in her letter of intention why she is seeking for both extensions at the same time. Please let me know why you chose to do yours in bit. Hi. There’s a new IRCC announcement last January that student’s are not required to have specific Noc jobs to extend their dependents. Any NOC will do.

Hi. You must submit the files separately. On the website, there are separate fields for the principal applicant and dependent applicants to upload their documents.

Hi. Yes, you’re still required to provide proof of funds, but the amount doesn’t necessarily have to match what you initially applied with.

@@karledig1827 hi. No need na ng financial docs ng owp. Only the student. I would suggest including bank statements because that’s what we did. But some only submitted bank certificates and it worked for them too.

I’ve heard of people who submitted only $5,000 in proof of funds when extending their permits, and they were approved. However, that’s their experience and may not apply to everyone. You can decide if you want to do the same.
It’s preferable if your parents can transfer the funds to your account. This way, the money will be in your name, and you won’t need to provide additional supporting documents.

Hello. Webform is for changes of contact information only like address, marriage, employment, etc. It can also be used for following up if your application exceeded the normal processing time.
What will happen is if you get your approval this year, you can go here in Canada before your class starts in April and just apply for extension and reason is deferment.
