No doubt an awesome song, . . I remember getting Double Vision on 8 Track Tape , lol pile driver speakers a friend some Jenson went drivin' around cranking: up the tunes with Foreigner Jammin 😃👍
Bought the album in 1977. Still in good working order. Recorded it on a cassette back then and it still sounds ok. TDK cassettes were the gold standard back then for us and now I know why. They hold up great!!!
This song totally kicks ass! About fucking time this song is on RUclips again, this song IMO should've been the follow up single to "Long Long Way From Home"
These guys were great back in the day. I had the pleasure of being in the Air Force with Ed Gagliardi, original bassist, back in the early seventies, when he told us that he was trying out for a band an that he had got the gig with Foreigner. Got invited to their release party, but my wife and I couldn't make it, as Ed left the military life and I signed up for another four long years... The good ol' days for sure!!!
Great music is timeless and that's exactly what I consider Foreigner's first three albums. Their debut release is my alltime favorite from any band. I gotta agree with some of the comments below about why in the hell did Mick release Ed and then Ian and Al a little while later. The songwriting was never quite the same without Ian's contributions.
Now thats a awesome rock~n~roll song,It has everything in it faa shore. His Lady.a 57 coupe,James Dean aint dead, back seat mauler and a smith & wesson.Definently 1 of the best rock&roll great songs from a band that will always be Foreigner in all countrys(see band name origin 4 a cool story) and think its 1 of thier best of manys! Thank You for sharing & keep on rocking in the free world.
LOL!!! We used to sing this song to my big brother back in the day...lol fit him to a T!! Oh thanks for the memories...going to send this song to him now *grins*
another fine tune LOU GRAMMATICO signed, sealed and delivered, finely put him into history of fame writers just the hell where he belongs, god bless lou gramm, thanks for the memories--get well mick
Ed Gagliardi (the bassist of their first two albums) is IMO the best bass player they ever had and they should have never kicked him out of the band, same thing with Ian McDonald and Al Greenwood later on, to me the real Foreigner era was when they've had Ian, Al and Ed in the group
Great song, wish this song was released as a single, I find it to be a lot catchier than "Long Long Way From Home" (another good Foreigner song) although this is one of their heavier songs they've ever done in their career
Long live the Jones-Gramm-McDonald-Elliott-Greenwood-Gagliardi lineup, that was IMO the best Foreigner lineup of them all, what on earth was Mick Jones thinking when he sacked Ed Gagliardi and then later Ian McDonald and Al Greenwood?
@guitarconasor It's also in a song by Stories called Brother Louie which was sung by Ian Lloyd who sang some of the background vocals on Foreigner albums
@tryithere I really loved the background vocals of the original lineup and it was a shame that Mick Jones's ego grew so large that he chose not to let the other members contribute more to the group, I think their subsequent albums would have been great if they remained together much longer and them contributing more to the group, their vocal harmonies of their early stuff reminds me of the Beach Boys
@tryithere I have heard one of Spys's songs and I thought they were a great group, I wish they were as successful as Foreigner was. I don't know what Mick Jones was thinking when he took Foreigner towards the pop/ballad direction and I also wonder how Ian, Al and Ed felt about Foreigner writing love ballads?
I found a Genie in a Bottle and I rubbed it , then the Genie came out and said "I will grant you three wishes" . I didn't answer him because I was Rockin Out to this very tune . . . . . . and NOW I drive a 57 Coupe , I walk with a Stoop , I swear James Dean isn't dead .
@tryithere I'm kind of surprised they would be ragging on Lou Gramm cause I never thought they've had any problems with him, there are times I wish Foreigner was Lou Gramm's band instead of Mick Jones, I'll have to listen to "Don't Run My Life" sometime
@Doobie1975 Ian Lloyd, the lead singer of Stories did backup vocals on most Foreigner albums including this one. This song is supposed to be based on him but some disagree.
When this song came out I had a 57 coupe and an old Fender Strat that I could play behind my back, but I felt like a pussy because I certainly wasn't no Headknocker. What can I say? I'm a lover, not a fighter.
I can't believe this song was never released as a single, this song totally kicks ass, I wish it was a minute longer though
No doubt an awesome song, . . I remember getting Double Vision on 8 Track Tape , lol pile driver speakers a friend some Jenson went drivin' around cranking: up the tunes with Foreigner Jammin 😃👍
Great Tune. My first concert in 1977 at the Orpheum Theatre in Boston. The Cars were the back-up Band

Me too! Always puts me in a good mood 😊
Bought the album in 1977. Still in good working order. Recorded it on a cassette back then and it still sounds ok. TDK cassettes were the gold standard back then for us and now I know why. They hold up great!!!

When Foreigner rocked
Great music is timeless and that's exactly what I consider Foreigner's first three albums. Their debut release is my alltime favorite from any band. I gotta agree with some of the comments below about why in the hell did Mick release Ed and then Ian and Al a little while later. The songwriting was never quite the same without Ian's contributions.
what a great band this was. Some things were meant to be
Now thats a awesome rock~n~roll song,It has everything in it faa shore. I heard this song about 5 days ago and it is still stuck in my head
Ed Gagliardi (the bassist of their first two albums) is IMO the best bass player they ever had and they should have never kicked him out of the band, same thing with Ian McDonald and Al Greenwood later on, to me the real Foreigner era was when they've had Ian, Al and Ed in the group

Great song, wish this song was released as a single, I find it to be a lot catchier than "Long Long Way From Home" (another good Foreigner song) although this is one of their heavier songs they've ever done in their career
this (the first album)was the best Foreigner music....
I agree! Crank it up!

RIP Ed Gagliardi 1952-2014
Lou Gramm is the best,
@tryithere I'm kind of surprised they would be ragging on Lou Gramm cause I never thought they've had any problems with him, there are times I wish Foreigner was Lou Gramm's band instead of Mick Jones, I'll have to listen to "Don't Run My Life" sometime

@Doobie1975 Ian Lloyd, the lead singer of Stories did backup vocals on most Foreigner albums including this one. This song is supposed to be based on him but some disagree.
time to whip out the Smith & Wesson !
When this song came out I had a 57 coupe and an old Fender Strat that I could play behind my back, but I felt like a pussy because I certainly wasn't no Headknocker.
