Conductors and insulators
Materials in which electric current flow freely are known as conductors and other materials in which electric current can not flow are known as insulators.
Electrical conductivity is related to the density of free electrons of a material. For example metals are good conductors since they have a lot of free electrons and can conduct electric current by transferring these electrons.
Materials such as wood, glass and plastic are insulators since they have negligibly small number of free electrons and therefore cannot transfer electric current.

Why metal conducts becoz they have free electrons not only they conduct electricity they are also good conductor of heat
