I too love skirts! 😊 They’re perfect to pair with blazers, any style of blouse ~ a pity more people don’t appreciate this humble garment, because the style can be made to be elegant or casual.
Wonderful video. Very inspirational. While I was watching, I felt like I was just visiting with a good friend. Thanks! Have a safe time and enjoy yourself.
Wow! What a beautiful linen stash! Have a great time with your family,, and of course we would love to see whatever you can share with us from your trip to Rio and Sao Paulo.
I have a small pile of lovely fabrics and a plan of things I want to make with them. But right now just no time to sew. It is nice to know when I do get time I have every thing I need to make some lovely new clothes. Have a Wonderfull break.
Wow ! What a stash of gorgeous linen 😍…Lucky girl ! That embroidered linen is unique , I haven’t seen any ever . I also really love that gifted striped linen from USA and the flowered one with the navy background . Style Arc and Casmerette have great patterns , the latter having excellent instructions too for us less skilled sewists ! What about a pair of palazzo pants with that yellow with brown leaves linen. Great idea to bring yr stash out for motivation and inspiration !Karina enjoy yr well deserved holiday dear I am so happy for you dear . I am sure you will find the time to visit a haberdashery or fabric shop and we will all be waiting to see yr new additions to yr lovely stash !! Enjoy !
Love your videos on linen. I never sewen with it. You have a beautiful collection! Enjoy your time away with your family! Rio has some great fabric shops- at least they did when I was there in 1992. I brought home a suitcase full of fabric.
I love your videos. I am learning a lot about fabrics from you and the pattern designers you use I have now been able to purchase plus size gorgeous patterns I am looking forward to making. You alluded to exactly my reason for not watching skirt videos. Skirts are so straight forward and easy for me. I have been focusing my views on fabrics and fitting tops. Thank you for your time and gifts.
I Love your videos and learn so much from you! Thank you so much for all the time you put into them. You deserve the time off. Enjoy! We'll survive by re-watching some of them. I learn something new each time. Plus, less watching...more sewing.
I've been really into Linen myself lately. Here in the states we call a linen rayon blend a Brussels washer linen. I just love the way it drapes. I made a red Donny shirt. Now I want to make a black one. I've been watching all of your linen content lately. So much good information
Have a wonderful , safe holiday. Sometimes the unplanned vacation turns out being the most memorable. I enjoy the skirt videos because that is all I can wear nowadays, cannot get pants or trousers on and off without assistance due to disability.😵💫
i love these types of videos i learn so much thank you Karina you are so funny you always get enough to make pants jacket and skirt and the wide stipes and animal prints that is where i draw the line no pants you must have good news because u are so happy i will miss you but i am so happy for you and your family you work way to much enjoy your family dont even give u a taught lol and please show us your fabric when u come back i love it so much
Have a fantastic time in Sao Paolo and Rio, Karina! What a wonderful opportunity, I am so pleased for you 😊 Maybe you will purchase some more linen?😁 Enjoy!
Thanks! I’m inspired to get my linen out. Enjoy your impromptu road trip. Maybe find some fabulous fabric in one of those cities? I visited Rio in 2003, and loved it . . . though the real destination was 2 weeks in a smallish boat on the Amazon and Rio Bravo rivers with a couple extra days in Manaus. It was my favorite trip EVER! Such a diverse country.❤️
i completely understand 'precious' fabric & not wanting to cut into it!!😄 i currently have 4 lovely linens i've washed but hesitant to cut even tho i know what i want to make from them!😄 Thnx for all ur grrreat videos! ❤️ from 🇨🇦
Just watched this, as I'm a soft, stretch knit kind o' gal and don't sew with it, but wondered where you were. Hope you have a fantastic break with your family - enjoy!
I enjoyed this video so much- your love of fabric is contagious and inspirational! It is sad that brick and mortar stores are closing due to covid over here (US). Have a safe trip, stay healthy!
Your fabrics are beautiful! I love the way linen sews up, but I'm not crazy about the wrinkles. I have a few blends in my stash. Thanks for telling us about the Sinclair pattern sale. Enjoy your family! And, I love making and wearing skirts.
Last night I added together the amount of fabric i needed for trousers and a blazer. 3.5m exactly. And here you are today telling us you need 3.5m. I must have had a premonition, lol! Sadly I didn’t have enough to do both, so i’ll just do the jacket. (And the pattern i wanted to make was that butterick 6718! ) Might be able to squeeze out a straight skirt, hmm. You had some fabulous fabrics there. I can’t wait to see what you make out of them. Enjoy your little trip!
Linda, I think you can achieve all of that with careful cutting and piecing. I recently did that with my fabric leftovers. Shocked that I could still make something wearable and looked decent.
Love linen and loved this video and lucky you for having such a great stash of linen☺️. Some excellent pattern suggestions too. I had no idea Style Arc had so many terrific patterns so thanks for the suggestions. Enjoy your surprise holiday. You deserve it!!!
Hi Karina. Thanks for your vlog on linen. I’m so glad somebody else has a large linen stash like mine! I am about to make the French Navy - Vetever top out of a Nani Iro linen. I hope it’s going to be lovely if I can nail the fit. Diana
Have a wonderful time with your family! Loved the video, especially the jacket patterns. I have recently become obsessed with the idea of making a jeans-type jacket and would love to do it in linen. Happy holidays!
Thnx for all the pattern ideas! Excited to purchase & sew the Sutton Top w/a grrreat linen!! Any fabric store (online) suggestions from Brazil? Brick & mortor fabric stores in 🇨🇦 also disappearing😢. Have a fun trip!!
I LOVE the Seychelles top … I’ve made it twice (one in cotton, one in linen). I have plans for more - as easy to wear as a tee shirt but a little dressier.
Hello Karina I am a new sewist , And I will be paying a visit to Brazil pretty soon, in October to be specific. I will be in the San Paulo area, and I would like to know if you have any suggestions of where I can get some of the beautiful linen fabric that you are showing? I love the flower fabrics, thanks Michelle
It does not grow as such but you just have to be careful with armholes and necklines so they don’t stretch out. Stay stitching and careful handling is a must. I don’t have a video on measuring the cadence. My woven top fitting series does have a lot of helpful content regarding measuring.
I too love skirts! 😊 They’re perfect to pair with blazers, any style of blouse ~ a pity more people don’t appreciate this humble garment, because the style can be made to be elegant or casual.
I thought I was the only one who cuddled with my fabrics! I love your videos! Ty
Have a fantastic time, enjoy your rest. 😍
You’re joyful laugh at 18:45 when you hold up your whole stash 😄🧡
Wonderful video. Very inspirational. While I was watching, I felt like I was just visiting with a good friend. Thanks! Have a safe time and enjoy yourself.
I LOVE skirts. They’re usually much more comfortable. And I feel pretty too. Comfy AND pretty! Sign me up!
Wow! What a beautiful linen stash! Have a great time with your family,, and of course we would love to see whatever you can share with us from your trip to Rio and Sao Paulo.
So much beautiful linen and inspirations. Have a great time on your trip, enjoy and have fun.

The gray animal print would look good as a dress with one of your linen jackets, or/and shorts.
Just watched this, as I'm a soft, stretch knit kind o' gal and don't sew with it, but wondered where you were. Hope you have a fantastic break with your family - enjoy!
Love your linen collection and I know you will bring out the best in each fabric. Enjoy having a nosey in the local fabric shops while vacationing.
I enjoyed this video so much- your love of fabric is contagious and inspirational! It is sad that brick and mortar stores are closing due to covid over here (US). Have a safe trip, stay healthy!

Karina, I loved this video. Would you teach us how to draw our own skirt blocks on fabric w/chalk?
Have a wonderful time with your family! Loved the video, especially the jacket patterns. I have recently become obsessed with the idea of making a jeans-type jacket and would love to do it in linen. Happy holidays!
Thnx for all the pattern ideas! Excited to purchase & sew the Sutton Top w/a grrreat linen!! Any fabric store (online) suggestions from Brazil? Brick & mortor fabric stores in 🇨🇦 also disappearing😢. Have a fun trip!!

“I draw the line at animal prints on pants.” 😂

Karina this was so lovely. I hope you had an amazing special trip. A question… how do you protect your stashes from the clothes moth?
We don’t seem to have moths here at all. So I’ve done nothing special.
Does one of you videos show measuring for the Cadence? I have'nt sew much with woven. I do have some Rayon/linen I'm hoping to make, does it grow?
It does not grow as such but you just have to be careful with armholes and necklines so they don’t stretch out. Stay stitching and careful handling is a must. I don’t have a video on measuring the cadence. My woven top fitting series does have a lot of helpful content regarding measuring.
Would ray/linen work for the Poppy pants? Also wondering if it would grow.
Mine are linen 55% rayon 45% and the fabric is stable. I would look for one where the higher % is linen in the blend.
I LOVE skirts!
Have a wonderful trip!
