    Pleats look better when the pocket reaches towards the center front seam. Woven fabric flattens the belly area, and the pleats shine.

    Wow! Soooo awesome. Perfect timing with the linen sales and I love linen! Your sewing is so exquisitely executed. Good thing I buy muslin by the bolt! My Toiles(muslins) for tops often wind up getting worn. I also like to embroider on them. The pants usually only make it to shorts for the body fit. That’s a fun one. I am basically shaped like a lumpy pear. Hah!
    I learn and relearn so much from you. Thank you so very much! I take notes when your RUclips channel is teaching this older woman more and more. Thank you!

    Always learn something fun when watching your videos ~ Thank you! But, when you use the term “medium weight fabric” , could you possibly also include the weight per yard? Sometimes it’s hard to know exactly what “light/medium/heavy” translate into on a fabric.

      @LiftingPinsandNeedles  2 года назад

      If you look at this video about linen, I mention that in detail and with examples and weights per yard: ruclips.net/video/DffsrL3waYc/видео.html

    Fabulous video. There is so much inspiration here, I need to rewatch and make some notes. Thank you so much for doing these videos on linen, I have some turquoise linen blend bought for trousers, I just can't make up my mind which ones. I also love that you made matching jackets for some of them.

    What a brilliant run through of trouser patterns suitable for linen! I salute you, Karina!🙏 I am glad you mentioned the True Bias Emerson pants as to my mind they are the perfect wide leg trousers - the little pleats are great for my shape, and the combination of flat front with curved waistband and elasticated back is just so comfortable 😊 I have made one pair in pure linen and numerous pairs in cotton. You might also consider a linen-cotton blend as well as linen-rayon? I have found that works well for trousers too. Thanks for being so thorough as always x

    Fabulous video. I really appreciate all the info you shared and seeing all the pants on is so helpful. I am currently watching your videos to help me fit Pietra pants. I have too much crotch volume and rise lenght in the front and not enough rise length in the back. Fingers crossed that I can figure it out!

    do you find that the linen/rayon fabric stretches much with wear (crotch seam/knees)? I know 100% linen is known for doing that. thanks!

      The original has the slanted pockets. You can sew them without pockets too.

    This video was incredibly informative. Thank you! I don’t know if you’ll have time to answer this question but do you think it would be possible to use the Love Notions Summer Caye waist band on the Allegro pattern? I like the slimmer legs on the Allegro but always do a half tuck on my blouses/t-shirts so I’d prefer the flat front waist band of the Summer Caye. ThankYou again for such an informative video.

    I also found (after I had made them) that the rise on them did not fit correctly and that I needed to reduce it but I think after all of that I did not feel like going through it! So not sure if I will ever make them again.

    What type of material did you use as a muslin?

    • @LiftingPinsandNeedles

      I buy cheap polyester curtain fabric for testing pant patterns :) it’s got zero give and stretch.

    Hello Karina, I need help I remember from watching your videos, you mentioned that you are in Brazil. I moved to Brazil São Paulo last week, I'm struggling to find any sewing supplies store near me. Everything on Google is far from me 2-3 hours travel. Can you Please recommend me if you know any. I'm in Avenida Paulista street. Thank you

      There’s a road called Joli and that’s where all the fabric shops are. I’ve never been there. Email me and I can send you links to online fabric shops that are great.
