Really love these speakers. Always amazed how deep those 120mm bass elements can go without tapping out. The speaker also have a really laid back treble, but still produce the high clear notes I want. I can listen for hours and hours without fatigue. I use mine with a Rotel ra1592 for now. A comparison between ae520 , Q acoustics concept 500 and SA legend 60.2 would be a dream come true
Hi Garso, How are you? Which would be better for my listening space which measures 19ft long x 11ft wide x 10-14ft high between these AE520 or AE509 speakers. Are Acoustic Energy speakers relevant in 2024 or are there any floor standers in this same price point that are better today? Thanks in advance.
For me, AE520 all day long. Much more natural sounding speakers and very easy to listen. Even the bass is better, despite much smaller drivers. Maybe, just maybe R700 would be better for home cinema. They are brighter sounding speakers and can be a bit tiring after long listening.
@@garsonamai4528 Thank you for the feedback. Interesting all of the reviews for the R700 Towers mention how neutral they are. I picked up the Polk R400 Center recently as a tangible paired with a Marantz SR7013 and Emotiva XPA-5 Gen3 amp and I am very impressed I have the R700's on PO however backorder. I've been running for 22 years Sandy Gross Definitive Super Towers fronts and rears but wanted a change so here we are.
Hi, not sure what is MLP? Listening position? These speakes have quite wide soundstage, so they can be a bit narrower, compared to the listening position.
Good afternoon! I'm also looking for such acoustics for myself. How many meters is your room? Isn't the bass humming by the speakers in your room? Do you think it is acceptable to install these speakers in a room of 20 meters, will there be a low-frequency hum?
Hi, these speakers would sound better in a bigger room. Our room is 36sqm, and I would say it's a bit too small. However, the bass of these speakers is very fast and presice with very little resonances, so they can be used in quite small rooms. But for 20sqm I would probably recommend AE509.
Video was made using Arcam SA30 and it's really good, if you want all-in-one solution at no huge price. But for the best results, we found Musical Fidelity M6PRE/PRX combo + external source better. We use Bluesound Node with external DAC with good results. Amplification also depends on what kind of sound you like. Musical Fiidelity is warmer and more bassy than Primare for eg., which is quite cold, but very detailed and audiophile-like sounding amplifier.

How does the Polk R700 compare to the Acoustic Energy AE520's?

The speakers seem to be about 6' apart. What is the MLP distance? Is it suitable for a 8' MLP?

What amplification and source do you use and suggest?

Quel ampli svp ? Merci
Hi, they were connected to Arcam SA30 in the video, but later I've tried Plinius Hautonga. Totally different beast and AE520 opened up even more.
you have a decent bass from the AE520, is the SW working?
No, the subwoofer is not playing. These speakers have a really good bass. It's fast, dynamic and goes really deep.
What size woofers
@@Musicman369 they are 5" (13cm)
