Flown into Momona many times. The PA-28/181 I was flying got _escorted_ to the runway once after the refueller spilt avgas over the starboard. Was quiet funny having a large yellow fire engine following my tiny aircraft as I taxied out. Great days and I miss them so much.
sorry but you cannot be comming from auckland to dunedin to land as i saw lake waihola so you must of come from invercargill as i have lived in dunedin all my life and when you come into dunedin from up north you can not see lake waihola from there. Unless you came in a circle from north to south to land at the southern end of the runway.
Due to the prevailing winds, aircraft usually land from the south at Dunedin, and rarely from the north. I used to live right next to the airport so I saw them every day.

Bruh they just turn that way for the best landing with the wind. Air New Zealand don’t even have a route from invercargil to Dunedin🤦♀️
