Minuscule for most people’s wrists today, regardless of what people would try to make you believe. Also, that milky crystal ring would drive my OCD crazy.
Nice review of a fantastic reissue! All proper chronograph movement so feature a jumping minute hand in the sub register. The modular ones don’t for example.
Another good review, very nice looking collectors timepiece. Nice to see TAG putting the thought and effort into the history of the brand with this level of quality - which seems directly related to horological interests. Thanks again.
Thank you for another thoughtful comment! I agree, this sort of effort from TAG is welcome. They have done well with the Monaco as well, but to be honest I am disappointed with the Autavia reissue. I was hoping for something more true to the original. Hopefully they continue to release authentic heritage pieces. Thanks again, hope all is well!
Apparently the omission of the 'Carrera' on the dial was Tag made aware that Porsche had exclusive rights to that at the time and weren't keen on any trouble with them .

White Dial is the way to go with this one, followed closely by the black dial. The salmon dial is less attractive for me. Anyway, good review of one of the low-key best "reissue vintage" watches ever released.
I own both and prefer the black dial. If only slightly. It’s the sportier of the two. The silver/white is dressier. Mainly I think because of its all polished hand set. TAG didn’t paint the chrono hands black like the original 2447D had.
Resale prices on these RE-EDs finally starting to drop and normalize , ( 2/2020) , have seen the less desirable white dial models selling for as low as 2600 USD , Blk dials still king of the hill selling on avg. at roughly 3500 - 3800 USD down from peak pricing of a couple of years ago 4500- 6000 . I remember seeing overstock models (the left overs selling as Costcos and Sams club for a thousand plus tax in the early 2000s , also ebay going for as low as $800. Purchased an orig.2 reg. sillver dial from Tourneau Str. here in houston in the mid 90s, {since closed) for 1000 from thier vtg pre owned section, what a deal ! traded against a rolex datejust several yrs later (pre - re-ed period) not smart , hindsight 20/20, due to smaller size of 35 mm. looks best with long sleeved shirts and or jackets. , think thats why many will aquire the watch wear it, but more often display it, get thier fixx so to speak ,then sell it and move on, same perhaps triue for Heauer carrera Gmt Re-eds .Everybody wants one till they get one. Monza re-eds a bit more contemporary in size , tend not to suffer as much in that way. For those that hold on to them, seems they will escalte in value , prob up to the 7 to 10k range with time, at least amongst collectors. Most are in showroom cond due to lack of wear, lots of finger prints though . !8k models seem to be the rarest MSRP was 5k , seen a couple up for sale at around the 7k mark, wish they would have used the blk dial as opposed to white w/blue chapter ring ,looks out of place ,clashes with the gold. Well gentleman thats my 2 cents perhaps 3 , Start your engines.
@@tpcam78 maybe I should sell mine. I have the white dial with perforated black leather strap with box papers etc in excellent condition since I rarely wore it.
Thank you! The strap was called "Torino Sand" from cheapestnatostraps but I havent seen it on their site for a few months. I like it too! Gives it a more vintage feel than the standard black rally strap IMO.
Thanks! I haven't checked out cheapestnatostraps in a while. I'll keep my eye open on their site to see if it comes back. I just subscribed to your channel. Definitely liking your content. Keep up the great work!
The valjoux 7750 is a jump minute too

One of my grail watches! The white and blue would end up in my final 5 pieces for sure.
It's a very attractive piece! The white dial is great too. Can't say I love the "salmon" version as much!

Just bought a 1996 white dial, can’t wait for its arrival. Great review.

Very informative review. I learned a lot watching this video several times. Thank you for sharing this review and your knowledge of this watch.
Just purchased a 3110 re-edition .. Love the look !
Still one of my favorites.

Lovely watch. I keep looking at these, especially the white CS3110. They seem to be creeping up in price. I'd love to see another (re-)re-release.
Yes that would be nice! Amazing (and a little scary) that the re-edition is already going up so soon after it was discontinued.

Seem to be going up again. Especially on the CS3111

Great review! Love the watch! What's that watch strap? It goes well with your Carrera.

Stunning piece! Just out of curiosity what size is your wrist?
My wrist is 6.00" exactly! Quite small, so watches might look different on me than most people.
Nice review,.. informative
Wish there were some close-up shots + wrist shot. Other than that, great review!
I got some new camera equipment, maybe I can do a spotlight on this watch and get some new footage.
That would be great!
"Carrera" encompasses a large (functional) group, did you focus on the 1994 re-edition?
HH Ito because he had it on his wrist........
Lume shot?
Unfortunately the tritium in this piece no longer glows very bright. Hard to get any lume to show
Chris griffin is that you
Funny you say that. I've been told I look like Seth Green.
