HR in India often feels like the most spineless piece here. While managers can be harsh and lack empathy, you’d expect HR to step up and provide support. Instead, HR often acts like “Inhuman Resources,” doing little more than following orders. They don’t use their own judgment or stand up for employees; instead, they merely echo whatever the managers dictate. It’s disheartening to see such a crucial part of the corporate structure reduced to mere followers without any backbone.

India has a population of young unemployed people who will be ready to work for any amount for this organization. It's not like Woke countries where highly skilled and educated people are leaving their toxic workplaces to work as baristas, servers, cashiers for a better work life balance.
I was just thinking the same when I came across this comment. In government sector, they have a culture of sitting late uselessly and worklessly, harassing people who try to work with a work-life balance and glorifying those who work on anything and anytime no questions asked.
My learnings from my 10+ years of experience in IT- 1. Company is not our home. All slogans related to "company is your home" are bullshits. 2. Work for money not for making relations. 3. Be there until you are happy and learning something new daily. 4. Whenever you feel not happy with your colleague or work and if it is not for short term....LEAVE. 5. Try to be nice with everyone until person in front of you is also nice.

Common issues include high pressure to meet targets, resulting in long working hours and burnout. A lack of work-life balance is often exacerbated by the need to collaborate across different time zones. All MNCs have more or less the same stressful environment and toxic work culture.Work-life balance is often elusive in corporate culture, especially in high-pressure environments where productivity and deadlines take precedence.

There is a point we need to understand. There are good managers and bad managers as said in the video. We cant argue about that and its the manager’/ fault. But it becomes company’s fault when we report this to HR about this injustice, instead of taking action they keep quiet. This speaks about the company’s strong ethics in work culture. Issue to be addressed by company instead of keeping silent or blaming the victim.

CA firms have toxic work cultures, and ICAI should put out some laws regarding that. We pay them membership fees every year still, at least we deserve protection.

🔺PIP🔺is a glorified way of saying You Are Fired. It is the most favourite tool of managers to abuse & used as a formal way of taking revenge in corporate world. I have seen best of the best talents in PIP just because they were leaving one team to join other, & first team was forced by HR to provide names of under-performers to fit in bell curve. so naturally the person who is leaving the team gets to be the Chosen One.
Sadly this practice has been there for decades in top tier companies. If ur ever in Pip, just change ur job immediately.
Same happened to me in accenture.
Whereever company uses bell curve, just avoid these companies altogether.

It's good to bring people to hear the confessions(I respect you) . But kushal you need to be firm in your views about work culture. In a podcast with aman dhattarwal you were glorifying working for more than 70 hrs. I know you are a content creator, but I felt you're a hypocrite. No hate kushal, was just disappointed. I know you get scripts and being a content creator you have to just act upon it
working on something that interests you is a different thing. being made to work forcefully by someone is a different thing. Kushal has himself been in case 2 and openly shared that he considers this wrong.

Torture is happening even in small girls guys. During the initial days of my articleship, i had broken the wrist of my right hand and it was awfully painful. I asked for a leave and the CA boss/manager/in-charge told me " Pain killer leke aja" .
Then there was one instance she told in front of everyone in a raised tone"tere baal bohot acche hai na tereko takla kar dungi"
One CA in-charge had harassed me to find meaning of depreciation, obviously i already knew but he didn't listen to me, wanted me to search internet for it.
Compared me and a person who had already completed their 3 year articleship.
And many things, all of this comes at the cost of your own self confidence when you are a 19 or 20 year old.

The issue in Audit domain in India is that the teams are deliberately kept understaffed to extract more and more profits.
I worked in KPMG for 4 years and my experience was the same.

Bhai kushal i dont want to spread hate against you but people like you have glorified Big4s a lot and you guys actually admired their toxic pressure work atmosphere instead of criticising it. Good that now you're speaking up.
HR is just another manager but in a differently named department. They collude & cover up for each other. They belong to the same "manager class".
In ca life no one wants u to be happy, if you are happy they will get bother why are you so happy. They will try so hard to destroy your happiness.

My learnings from my 10+ years of experience in IT-
Even if your company is good but your manager and teammates are toxic then its very difficult to work.

Under paying an employee is a harrasment itself but no ones gives a flying f in this country
This needs to reach every single person
Quiet quitting is the only way. This is every dedicated and hardworking employee story. Slacking employees get all the perks.
19:30 the same happened with me, Due to very toxicity and office politics. I asked my manager to release me or put me into PIP, He said to wait for three months after that also I will see if any resource is found then only I will release you .
And after I asked for release, he started targeting me in front of everyone, scolding me unnecessarily , asking me to sit in the office for 10+ hours even though no work was there to do then eventually I resigned 😢😢
Even after resignation also she didn't stop bothering me, keep doing the same .😢😢
Why don't you expose all this on LinkedIn. Write a post and mention that manager and co. And ask them questions on public platform only then they can get a lesson.
