The one absolute in Guilty Gear is that Johnny is cool. Even the teacher that had his students play +R and then made them rank the characters always put Johnny in a high tier despite no one playing him strictly because he's cool.
Last update I think a European kid that was familiar with Zangief and decided to main Pot was the champ. I think it should start up again soon since school is starting up again too. Just unknown whether it'll be a new class or 8th graders
Who would have thought that a character who is basically a mixture between Vergil, the coolest Devil May Cry character, and Gambit, the coolest X-Man, would also be cool? Truly shocking.
I am confounded by one who could believe that a character who, in the previous installment, began each battle by slowly walking forward with the wind to his back, donning a pair of sunglasses, and nonchalantly warning his opponent that he's perfect is, in fact, not cool.
I’m just tired of people saying Johnny is cool. Every single instalment first people say “omg he’s so cool” then we get to the 5k and mist after 1000 people have talked about how cool Johnny is Reminds me of Captain Falcon is hype discussions in Smash Bros scene. Ok we get it he’s hype can we let it rest?
Joker Trick iirc used to be his Insta Kill, he'd turn his opponent into a card and then cut them in half, like how they changed Baiken's old OG Guilty Gear Insta Kill into a regular Super for her in later GG games.
1:50 I’m so glad Max called this out. It was the first think i notice when i figured out the cast heights. Sol stands at 6’0 but Ky, Zato and Sin stand noticeably taller at 5’10 (Ky) and Zato Sin (5’11) respectively. I think this on mostly on Sol’s build being much bigger and affecting his hurtbox. Extremely reminiscent to SFV when Sakura to me felt so tall being just 5’1 but towering 5’9 ryu.
Max has been saying for years that he thinks johnny is trying too hard to be cool. I always thought that was funny considering he really likes kyo and rock howard.
The narrator is a person (credited at the end of the video, even), my guess is he's speaking slowly to enunciate clearly for non-native English speakers.
@@valeoncat13 my guess is that could be a result of a non-native voice director. A couple VO interviews I've read from the Dreamcast era bring this up as point.
Granted I didn’t really play def but I watched it a decent amount. Consensus felt like the character was hard to play but really good. So I can see the “try-hard” opinion
Johnny did hella damage and was super flashy can cool but it took skill to play him. He was op but only if you could land coins in the old games and that was incredibly difficult since you had to hit not whiff or be blocked. So he was good but only if you were good and labbed a lot with him to get to the point of him being op and od

this is the only time ive seen soneone mention how small johnny looks in this game ive had this thought since i saw his reveal last time i really saw him was in accent core +r where he was pretty tall he looks tiny in this game
Vault > Zwei > killer joker. He's historically had a transport move. Ensenga just seems like a low/throw crush now. Tk deal and tk mist finer seem like way better overheads hopefully mist finer cancel means 6h can still be plus but who knows
Since day one Johnny's the best he's so good they didn't even had to change his outfit, and he's still wearing them wack ass shoes but he's still dripped out of his mind despite it all
The missile knows where it is at all times. It knows this because it knows where it isn't. By subtracting where it is from where it isn't, or where it isn't from where it is (whichever is greater), it obtains a difference, or deviation. The guidance subsystem uses deviations to generate corrective commands to drive the missile from a position where it is to a position where it isn't, and arriving at a position where it wasn't, it now is. Consequently, the position where it is, is now the position that it wasn't, and it follows that the position that it was, is now the position that it isn't. In the event that the position that it is in is not the position that it wasn't, the system has acquired a variation, the variation being the difference between where the missile is, and where it wasn't. If variation is considered to be a significant factor, it too may be corrected by the GEA. However, the missile must also know where it was. The missile guidance computer scenario works as follows. Because a variation has modified some of the information the missile has obtained, it is not sure just where it is. However, it is sure where it isn't, within reason, and it knows where it was. It now subtracts where it should be from where it wasn't, or vice-versa, and by differentiating this from the algebraic sum of where it shouldn't be, and where it was, it is able to obtain the deviation and its variation, which is called error.
If I had a nickel for every time a character named Johnny actually does looks sick, I'd have two nickels. Which isn't a lot, but it's weird that it happened twice.
I don't know if this is true because it's been a while since I've been in touch with this information but. Yuzuriha: "Oh sure, Johnny can have insane reaching pokes and a stance for more effective pokes and scary set-play/combos and people call him cool. But when I do it……"
I thought the coin could only be thrown out from a standing position, and landing it would increase the level of his Mist Finer. 2nd level was a harder, faster hit, and 3rd level would make it a multi-hit attack.

The slouching thing changing his height is part of the Clark Kent method. Posture changes the character a lot.
