Love the stones but Like so many of the other Canadian bands of that time70's/80's ,they were soooo underrated and deserved a hell of alot more credit for their amazing talent.I'm not afraid to say Streethearts version blows the stones out of the park!!!
@@mangore623I absolutely am with you on this! I mean think of the vocals of Holly Woods & Toronto- another 90% Canadian band so underrated! Too bad Kenny is gone and Holly has retired! WTF were did my youth go?!!
+Yves Martin Indeed! An incredibly tasty arrangement all around too. Love how the guitar solo builds, vocals are great, waaaay better than the Stones version.
+Yves Martin Not easy for sure but I know of some that are more difficult, believe me. It's difficult mostly because it's a jam, and you can really mess up a jam. ;) The runs up and down the scale @ 4:15-ish are definitely not simple but once mastered should present no major issue. This ma just be the best cover of any song ... ever. I like the Stones original, but Streetheart's version will have you cranking the volume for the entire song, especially toward the end when the band really starts rockin'.
The best cover of this song ever done...even by the original singers (Sorry, Stones...) RIP Kenny Shields...you had one of rock's greatest and distinctive voices :'(
They played the St. Vital Hotel in Winnipeg a few times. I rememeber "Hurricane" Hannah tearin' it up on the lead guitar. Man, that was sooooo long ago. Thanks for posting.
I actually love this version more than the original song from the Stone and usally i am kind of loyal to the first lay out but the music arrrangement the melody to me is better. And this version is longer than the original it's really a Cool version !!!! ;-)
I love the Stones song but this cover sounds so much better. It has that big 70's arena glam rock feel to it. Fantastic bass line, nasty guitar solo and the pounding drums sound incredible. They all come together perfectly with the piano chords added in at 4:02 too..
It’s the keyboards! Much bouncier version than The Stones. I saw Streetheart many times, over the years. This song was a highlight of any Streetheart show, of course. Rest In peace, Kenny Shields.
