Generally the easiest way to decide in my opinion is more is better if you have the budget for it. If you are consistently charging larger batteries you need more wattage to charge faster. If you are only flying smaller packs, you likely don't need the extra power. That said, having dual ports is always so nice when you are prepping to fly as it helps to cut down your charging time when you are getting several packs together.
Great video...Slightly off topic, but was hoping maybe you could shed some insight as to when spektrum will rerelease the apple spektrum dashboard app. I’ve had to Bluetooth module for my dx3 transmitter for almost 2 months and haven’t been able to even use it
Hey no worries, every week us marketing guys check in with engineering on that exact topic. While I don't have an exact date, I know the guys are hard at work. If I find out more soon, I'll post back here.
My S1200 G2 does not auto charge my G2 Smart 5000mAh 50C Both are new. Is my battery damaged? Both are new and never used. Or do i need to update my Charger?
Great video. How does one decide among 100 and 200W, and 1 and 2 battery ports? Any rules of thumb?

Do batteries have to be plugged into charger for auto storage to work? Or do they auto storage on bench?
They auto storage on the bench after a preprogrammed time. Or you can adjust that time too right from the charger.
Thanks Steve

@@StevesRC thanks for the info!
Do these work for FPV drones if you put the IC5 connector on the ESC?
Any battery really will work. You just won’t get any smart battery benefits. It will work like a standard charger
Great video! I'm looking to get back into RC. I'm not familiar with IC3 and IC5. Do the batteries also come with Traxxas connectors?
Not the Spektrum batteries. Traxxas has patents that prevent Spektrum from being able to do they.
@@StevesRC can I charge a spectrum 7.4 2s tx battery with this?
@@puddleduckist of course :)
What's your thoughts on "breaking in" a battery with a "x" charge rate - discharge rate for how many cycles etc. ??
I personally run a pack about 5 times very lightly. Then charge at 1-1.5c for optimal results.
Can this charger discharge batteries to a safe storage level? I see no way to do this, except for setting the battery self-discharge time.
Never mind. I found the setting.
Sorry! yes, you certainly can :)
Great review. Best I seen. :)
Nice job as usual brother!! :-)
Thanks man!
Hi, can g2 chargers charge g1 batteries?
Yep
Will any size battery balance cable from another brand battery plug into the balance port?
These are standard for the most part these days. Yes all the way up to a 6s
@@StevesRC okay. Yeah, I know with my current charger I have a balance board that has a spot to plug 2s,3s, and etc. on it.
Yea just add that balance board to the balance slot
@@StevesRC okay. Thank ya

Does it recognize smart and set the settings? If so it’s likely in need of and update.
@@StevesRC It does not recognize smart settings.
@@fredrikpetersen8352 You may have a bad smart chip in your batteries... Get with product support and they should be able to help you out.
@@StevesRC Yes it's what I'm thinking too.
Does this charger charge other battery brands or just Spectrum batteries?
I mention that in the video but yea any kind of battery
Well Done 👌
Very nice 😊😊😊
Thanks 😊
BUt hate Spektrum are getting greedy nearly 200dollars for a 20dollars charger.
