I was already doing most of these, but I had no idea you could turn berries into leather with the jerky rack, super helpful considering Im making my main base on the pond.
Same. I built a big mainly just grass base on the bug zapper by the oak tree, and now I realize I could have a way stronger base just by analyzing the weed stem. The location I'm at is pretty much impossible for ground creatures to get to in a raid anyway though.
One mistake I still make to this day periodically is not switching out my Mutations on the fly for the activity I am doing. I'll run around the map without Natural Explorer equipped or fight ants without Ant-nihialtor equipped. I have to facepalm when I realize.
Here’s another tip for you builders out there: Don’t create blueprints you do not intend on finishing. The chopping list (located in the building menu on the left-hand side), can be an amazing tool to help a player know exactly what they need to grab to finish their project, potentially cutting down time spent grabbing supplies. I use this feature almost every single time I build a new base, as it really does expedite the process. The problem is that for a little while before the chopping list came out, I used to build little outposts all over the yard, sometimes abandoning a project before I finished it. This led to my chopping list being full of extraneous supplies that I could care less about, kinda defeating the purpose of using it. This culminated in me spending hours searching every nook and cranny of the yard trying to find my half build structures…and trust me, it was about as much fun as it sounds :/ Don’t make my mistake!
I build my blueprints, calculate on my phone exactly how much of each thing I'm going to need for the project, and if I need to add on or change something after I'm done I do it.
@@vikajorjadze8968 when you open that secondary crafting menu that looks like the hot pouch wheel on the left it shows you what all you need for the uncompleted blueprints on the entire map
I feel like there's a caveat for the tier 1 gear upgrading. There is no tier 2 or 3 gasmask, flippers, bubble helmet, or head lamp. Those are the only 4 exceptions I would add to that rule only because they get more durability and when those things break on you, well they were your paddle and they've left you up the creek. Is it imperative that you upgrade those 4 things? No. But it is nice to have those 4 have that little bit more of extra durability if you do use them a lot.
Every video I see someone with a really nice, big and organized base while me and my friends base is just a historically grown mess of necessities close to the first spawn point.
There’s also the obvious pay attention to Freshness Meter! Roast & Loaf should never be left in the chest, and instead just be your food source while you explore
