Thank you again for these videos!
I'm a little behind, but I'm trying to catch up.
I've now moved my swinging clubs from 2 pounds to 2.5 pounds to 3.75 pounds. I may need to add some hockey tape to the grip at the higher weight.
I have a little bag rash on my elbows from trying some of your elbow strikes.

I'll tell you what Matt I certainly wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of those strikes! 😁 This is great! The slashing and thrusting combinations are excellent! I can't wait to try these. I just managed to get the sinewali (spelling?) pattern down. The 2 sticks are rapidly becoming some of my favorites I think

Yes! Keep training. I love the siniwali!

Thanks Matt for the great video. I have just started practicing with the Kali sticks. I love them. Presently I am using a medical device I purchased from Cane Masters. Keith was instrumental in helping me select the right type of cane for my needs. Jimmy.

Thank you Matt For a good beginners introduction. The techniques you describe are closely aligned with basic police impact weapons training. Although The Permissible target zones differ for police, the techniques you describe are very effective in the real world.

Some new tricks but not far from the movements I do with clubs and should do daily. I am improving but not daily yet. I guess we all fall down and sometimes getting back up is the hard part. I am doing again.

Wow. 70 bucks for 2 hickory sticks is steep.

    • @pasquinilli
      @pasquinilli  3 года назад +2

Yes. They are expensive. About two times what the rattan pair cost. They will last a lot longer and hit so much harder, but it is more of an investment for sure!

Home Depot. Buy two sledgehammer handles (or one posthole-digger handle), trim to suit you. Already hickory and meant to be handled roughly.

Fighting + Stick = Jail time. Same goes for Fighting + CaneMaster + RUclips history of learning to use it. By all means, go out there and prove me wrong.

    • @jgbullen

Maybe where you live. Where I live hitting old man = felony. Hitting old man with cane means DOA, when cops arrive.

I'm not fighting. In my blind haze of terror, I happened to grab this stick-type thing (or had a cane because of my bad knee), and fortunately for me, my spastic panicky flailing hit the much-younger, aggressive thug well enough to stop him from carrying out his criminal (and potentially murderous) intentions.
What RUclips videos? Really? My random, instinctive ape-reflex looks similar to a martial art? That's weird. All those action movies must have left their mark on my brain. Good thing I didn't pull this out (draws Glock) and do a panic-stricken John Wick imitation.
Now, if you'll excuse me, I have to go home, cry myself to sleep in remorse at having caused pain to one of the Lord's precious children, and research PTSD therapists.

It always amazes me that there are some who advocate so strongly for the criminal. Or suggest the only solution is the be a victim. Self defense is a God given human right.

Who did/do you study under? "cuz it's to one sided off balance. You spend too much time on one side which creates openings. The idea is not to do everything from one side then goto the other. It's to blend both so there's no gap (chance for entry). It's filled w/ a flurry of strikes.
