We Need to appreciate how mentally strong peter is. he loses his friends family and everything he loves to villians and still has the will to keep being a hero and not retire Peter is pure hearted and he dosen't deserve to be treated this way Hes definitly the character that should have been a villian and cause havoc years ago

If he were to kill someone not for revenge but to protect someone. Then when the time comes and Peter has to lift the hammer he'd be worthy enough
Just think about it thor and captain america have killed before and they are both worthy...Well I might be wrong or they changed it already but I just you should at least know why spidey of all people was never worthy.

@@blackblurable More like he didn't save them. It depends on which continuity though. Alternate world/reality or whatever. He might behave differently. In the main series, Batman is a hero who is not known to actively kill the bad guys for the sake of eliminating them for good.
How many innocent people the Joker has killed all because Batman let him live? I know from the writer perspective, it is hard to come up with some good villains but Batman/Superman let the worst kind of criminals live.

Very common misconception. Peter is not even CLOSE to stop pulling his punches in this story. In What If? Back in black shown how easily he could have ended Kingpin if he wanted

Considering the feats of strength he routinely demonstrates, he's strong enough to insta-gib a baseline human with a single punch if he really stopped holding back.

I remember in one comic Wolverine told Peter, If he would have the heart to kill he would be Unstoppable.
Look up the Spider Assassin What If. An alternate Peter killed his entire rogue's gallery alongside half of everyone else's rogue's gallery. The world's super criminals were so afraid of him that they stopped committing the crimes they used to. You know you have achieved true threat ending status when Dr. Doom is so afraid of you he adheres to every international law and never leaves his own nation again.
He goes back to patrolling Manhattan mostly out of boredom at the end. He has no love life, aunt May and uncle Ben are both dead, and he sits overlooking Manhattan on Bruce (the gargoyle he is always perched on on top of the Christler Building, yes he named it in the 80's) wondering if his life would have been better if he had settled down and found someone. As it stands a part of the hero community hates him and calls him a murderer while another part calls him the best hero there is as now super crime so rarely happens.

I think this is his most underrated power. Between all the agility and fanciness of web throwing, people tend to forget how really strong spider-man is.
He's one of the potentially most powerful characters of Marvel.

Not me that's what I always liked about spiderman but the thing is they never really show his strength like that they mainly always show his acrobatics which is another thing I liked about him and Daredevil
He's still pulling punches, but not because he cares for their wellbeing. No, He's pulling punches to draw out their suffering.
Don't get it twisted. He was still pulling his punches. With half his strength, Peter could punch Kingpin's head clean off, or punch straight through him. Peter was absolutely holding back against both Kingpin and those goons. Marvel's writers and editors are so clueless nowadays.
100% my friend. A vast majority of people do not understand or comprehend Peter Parkers full strength. one of the main reasons I love his character so much is because of his amazing will power and ability to suppress his strength. He has too many beautifully written stories and tragedies so many people sleep on….comics are dead/dying

Peter is very strong. Even using a small fraction of his strength coupled with his speed, a punch would be fatal if he intended it. I guess that is where the whole power and responsibility thing comes into play. That is his code.

When you realize, that Spider-man has always been handling all bad guys carefully and with soft touches, never taking the fight seriously. And this guy here took ONE step too far.

Spider-Man is truly terrifying when he is silent. Not growling, not joking around, no quips, no wit, just a stoic, petrifying quiet

Remember, the humor and the quips that Peter employs as Spidey are for HIM, not his adversaries. They give him confidence and strength in the face of some of the scariest and baddest dudes on the planet. And at heart, Peter is a relatively shy, sensitive guy regardless of the powers he enjoys. He wasn't born with them, he acquired them -- AFTER his personality was already formed.
But at this point, when pushed to the emotional brink, nature/nurture doesn't really matter -- and with revenge on his mind, he becomes the deadliest Spider-Man he could be without tipping over into the psychopathy of Superior Spidey (who isn't even Peter anyway).

He pulled punches. If he really hit kingpin, he would have died instantly. There is a comic where doc-oc actually mind controlls Spiderman, and gets him to punch someone. He punched their jaw off, killing them.

I do believe that Dr. Octopus during the Superior Spiderman comics realized himself how hard does our friendly neighbor holds himself back from accidentally ripping someone in half after he switched bodies, truth be told the great majority of Spiderman media makes a bad job explaining (without explicitly showing so) how much damage he could potentially do if he actually let's loose.

@@FullmetalAsian doc ock swapped minds with him because he was on his death bed. Then he uses peter's body for his own mischeif and in a battle against scorpion, without holding back he rips his jaw off with one clean punch.
Look for the old "What If...?" comics from the 80's and 90's. A few "cool new" versions of spider-man during the spiderverse stuff were shown first back then. The spider assassin version of Peter is TERRIFYING. That version of Peter actually killed off his own rogue's gallery and half of EVERY OTHER HERO's rogue's gallery. On his Earth there is very little super criminals willing to commit crime, he caused guys at Dr. Doom's level to feel so much fear that he follows international laws and keeps all of his activities in his own nation.
There was an interview with the author that mentioned something that Marvel has always used regarding Peter;
1. Anyone stronger than him, he is faster than.
2. Anyone faster than him, he is stronger than.
3. Anyone that is both stronger and faster than him, he is smarter than.
Spider-Man sits in a power level location that DC has never felt comfortable using. He is a pivot, and literally always is better than everyone else in some way. No one can out class him in all three ways. He is designed like this so you can throw him in all kinds of stories and he is still a meaningful addition to it, and also so you can throw all kinds of things at him and it makes sense in that he overcomes it.
Before the big reset, Spider-Man developed his own martial arts form that utilized his spider sense in such a way...nothing could touch him. They HAD to reboot him because they wrote him in such a way he could never be touched, they wrote themselves into a corner. Best part? Before the reboot he also learned some magic from Dr. Strange. He was good and adept at it too, learning quickly and efficiently able to use them. For a short while there we had a Spider-Man that had a martial arts that made everyone look foolish while being able to weave hand signs like a ninja and utilize magic in addition to his webbing, strength, and abilities. I would have loved it if they left him at this power level and let him grow from it, instead of always rebooting him and dragging him back to the starting line.

I think another comic shows Peter beating Titania so badly that she ended scared shitless of him for a few years.
I remember a Flash comic where the Rouges make a mental note never to attack Hero's love ones, because they know how lethal a super hero like Flash or Superman can be when they decide they don't want to be the hero anymore.

And the other guy, unless you have a million dollar kryptonite weapon I advise you to be pragmatic on your robbery because he can kill you in the most brutal way and nobody would look for your body in pluto."
The Rogues don't just have a mental note, it's a rule that they enforce. If a Flash villain tries to fuck with one of the Flash's family or loved ones OR the Flash out-of-uniform, the Rogues will go after that villain. They understand not only the potential of what the Flash could do to them, but the Pandora's Box it opens for anyone to do it. You play by the rules or you get shut down, because no one wants to see the Flash off his leash. The Flash reciprocates; if he sees a villain out-of-costume, he doesn't go after them. They all respect each other enough not to fuck around and find out.

Young Justice TV show actually did a scene like that. Ocean Master was hellbent on revenge and attempted to kill the heroes loved ones while they were at a birthday party with kids of and wives of the heroes. The Light offed him before he could get a chance because they knew you DO NOT want to see an out of control Justice League that just offs villains instead of trying to take them to jail.
Damn a non-jokester/oneliner Spiderman is as deadly as a serious Deadpool. Both of them are terrifying monster held back by jokes

One does not fear a man quick to violence and anger, such a man is predictable. One fears the quiet, peaceful man that, for so long has chosen NOT to use the incredible violence he knows he is capable of.
There have been a few Spider-man comics that show Peter like this. There is one in particular, where he has Laryngitis and can barely talk. throughout each encounter, his usual rogues get more and more afraid. They know that when Spider-man isn't cracking quips or jokes, someone, somewhere has royally fucked up. towards the end, the last rogue he captures just goes "oh crap..." and all of them are seen, sitting straight-backed in a police van, on their best behavior, fearing for their lives.
You wouldn't happen to remember the title of that comic right ?
Honestly they should make a crossover where Peter becomes The Punisher with his Spiderman powers.

He still wasn’t serious with his punches. If he was he, he would have punched kingpins jaw clean off. Dr Octavias, as superior Spider-Man, realized this when he punched the scorpions jaw off, who is an enhanced being.
I think there's a What If? version of this comic where Peter pulled a Gohan vs Bojack in Kingpin and just buried his entire arm in Willie's body.

I think people forget that Peter is in his late 20s. He's in his prime. His Spider Abilities have quadrupled since he first got them as a teenager.
Spider-Man is genuinely scary when he’s after blood. Like the issue where Supposedly Harry’s infant son was killed by super villains, who where hired to capture it. So Peter went after practically every villain in his roster to get information out of them. No jokes. No witty banter. Just silent rage.
This is just real life Spider-Man 🤷♂️ that’s EXACTLY how any of us would act if we had those powers and someone put your loved ones life in jeopardy. All super hero movies should be like this lol

I remember once a comic where the villains were utterly terrified when Spider Man rolled by and said absolutely nothing. No witty humor, no remarks, nothing. Don't remember exactly what happened but I think the sheer anxiety of that silence made the criminals hand themselves in- only for Peter to reveal that he'd caught a cold and his voice ran rough. Now everyone's rightfully pointing out how Kingpin still has a face but frankly. Where's that psychological torment when Spidey was quiet? Man should've been way more intimidated when the jokes never came through.

Spiderman was still holding back. Normally he uses just enough power as to not permanently hurt criminals. In this fight he upped it to 5 % of his power. Had he wanted to He would have turned Kingpins body into a red smear with his first punch.
Make no mistake, Spider-Man was still pulling his punches. Because of his anger, he let loose a little more than usual, but even then, he held back. You think if Spider-Man didn't pull his punches, that upper-cut on Kingpin wouldn't have taken his head clean off?

The reason Peter didn't punch KP head off like Scorpion jaw is to put him in pain. Killing someone is too easy, it was Peter's clear message that any enemy who targets him or his loved ones will suffer a one sided fight and die a painful death; hence why he beat KP to a pulp near death.
And that's when he knew, he f**ed up
