Nope, I got a base as well, I found a crafting station next to the road but not in the same pos as Scrapman's.I put my farm next to the road (in the area its far from the water) so I have to run 656 feet of distance (or 250 metres) I have nine crops and four buckets so I have to get water twice, but on both sides of the road theres a lotta trees and on one side of the trees theres water, on the other side theres also some water + a ruin (which didnt have a lot when I went inside it)

@@pascal2085 well it could, but at the same time it's hard(ish) to build, and the people with gas and electric can do alot, plus your not the fastest, it would depend on what the challenge is
I have noticed one thing. The farm bots will keep attacking the same region as long as there's no air cavity. Which means having a thick wall is useless if they can just pass through it from one place. Try leaving a gap between each layer. That way you use less material and the bots have to break layer1 then layer2, etc. This also prevents the big boss bot's attack from damaging multiple layers at once
i'd love a tutorial on how to make that seat mounted drill, i'm still figuring stuff out and all this logic gate and controller stuff is confusing the hell out of me, even in creative i have no idea what i'm doing
3 controllers, probably set to 15 blue, and repeat. You could probably scrap 2 controllers with a t5 driver seat. The ws controller is vertical the other two controllers are linked to the sensors. The bearing is hooked to the seat for ad movement.

I've jsut found the cheesiest farming method: place a 5x5 soil area, take out the middle one, place a 3x3 stump in it with enough pistons to lift a cover around the farm and just ,with switches, or via timers ,lift it up lower it back down crushing anything in it's way, afk metal farm+you get to do risk free farming, tho it's basically like an exploit so I know that not everyone is ok with thing like this.
You don’t need to build walls in the water just put a one to two layer brick wall 1 block over the water level ( a good reference is diesel designs base) he called you a genius

so, i love how during the trailer you laughed at the devs using cardboard on the door, but then when you make a base you immediately start going on about how you want the bots to go after the gate first, which is why the devs used cardboard on the gate instead of metal >__< also kan, you could create a key card system for your defenses, have color sensing cameras look for a color on your vehicle, and so everytime you come into the base it wont trigger the system, but if lets say a bot comes in and isnt the right color it will set off the spud gun systems or traps... just a thought
Yeah I'm pretty sure bots will take the path of least resistance, so by putting high teir metal as a door but then rock as your walls you basically told the bots to punch through your walls or go around the wall, what you need is to finish the wall with multiple layers, but actually I'd put metal on the outside then rock on the inside, this would reinforce it but force the bots into the doorway, you could also corridor the bots this way, slowing them down to kill them easier or to line them up, basically what scrap mechanic has made is a tower defence survive game? You could make a literal hallway in a "S" shape and have the bots follow the s with spud guns down each hallway shooting them as they come in, then give yourself a secret metal door to the side and just put up a lighter door for them to push for
@@lilwashu Idk if the bots consider layers. Scrapman did his own farm on a pininsula and only placed walls around the permimiter of the plot (which was a much better strat.) He fortified the front with more layers. They stilll went for the front. They might consider durabillity, but they don't consider layers.
@@EpsilonRosePersonal I use a simple dragon teeth design to slow them as my defense, basically pillars with 3 block gaps to block them, but not me. Old WW2 tank defense. After the first night, I replaced the damaged stone teeth with metal teeth, and they ignored them, attacking stone teeth. So yeah, they seem to seek the path of lowest durability.
For a Scout and Trading vehicle I suggest a pickup, since you can have space at the back and if you put suspension in you can go to places that have rough terrain.
Kan! A good idea is a controller completely hooked up to a bunch of bairing on a loop being rotated by a controller for the drills and buzz saws . Fueless and endless mining possiblities!

Hey, Kan, i had found a pretty nice thing - you can build a super tall pole and put a light on it facing down. It will light up an absolutely massive area and the light gets weaker very slowly compared to how high you can go. Also - i built a few piston engine creations after watching your video, and i loved them. Its a very cool concept. I built from 2 to 5 piston engines. Also made a weird 'helix' type piston engine, which is very clunky, but unique. Thanks for the inspiration!
I'm not sure, but the gate might be sticking because the collision box is ever-so-slightly overlapping the gate instead of fitting perfectly between it (especially since pistons aren't perfectly rigid). In which case you'd either have to create a more elaborate interlock system or simply leave a one-block (or less if possible) gap between the wall and gate horizontally.
If you jump in the water and then scroll threw your hot bar all of your buckets will fill up instantly. :) Also for your automatic watering system maybe you could have a bar that slowly extends over all of your crops with water cannons or whatever they’re called to squirt water on all of it :)
why paint in general? seems like a waste, well, unless you use the paint to differentiate from sections, like Yellow for crafting, White for farming, but even then you could just use signs.
Pastor Robert, I have come across this song long ago and the pain i felt when watching the video for the first time was so strong that it hurt me to even look at the screen to continue watching it. I honestly felt ashamed for the veterans that are treated like nothing but dirt or the scum of society. Till this day is hurts me to relive this memory of the pain and suffering on the battle field no matter the country we all go through grief and sometimes we will be pulled in to the depths of hell because of the sorrow and pain that this video brings us.
Kan, you should make the door on the wall go horizontal instead of going vertical. It would give more room for vehicles to go in and out so you wouldn't have that problem with a vertical door. Just a friendly tip!
I just can't find any cotton. Anyone having the same problem? Also, Kan, can you use vacuum pumps on those little holes that burp out crude oil? I didn't test it myself. It would be cool. And a suggestion for the wall: color the layers: leave the outer layer clean, then paint the second layer yellow, then the third red, and leave the metal (4th, inner) clean. This way you can clearly assess the damage from the outside. (You see yellow - caution , you see red - danger) Eat your cereal.

I think that mounting water (using water pumps for infinite ammo) cannons into the walls with sensors would really help with the waves of bots as they would be immobilized from the constant water blasts. if u r a bit stingy on resources putting on either side of the gate (ease of access and safety leaving) where those bots congested
I hooked the controller that is used to make the bearing go up and down to the seat and it works with W. Dont know how he got S to work on it. I've also only been playing a couple days so I'm sure I'm missing something.
If you look very carefully at his video you see he only has 3 bearings and 3 controllers. So A and D are obviously using that sensor converter. And if you slow the video down you can see one controller is hooked directly to the seat while the other two are hooked to the sensors. I just cant figure out how to get it to go the opposite direction when I hit S. W will activate the controller and itll go the way programmed but S does nothing
They should make a repair tool which would fix damaged blocks and if u click on a structure with the repair tool you would be able to save the structure so that whenever your structure got damaged you could pull out your repair tool and see a hologram of missing blocks and a list of blocks u need in the bottom right and you walk up to a hologram block and click with all the necessary blocks it would repair everything
I have a suggestion for your wall add a 1 or 2 block high rectangular hole on eye level all around the wall so you can aim and shoot through it while staying inside the base. Kind of like a war bunker
kAN Gaming it was so much slower because you put a massive weight in front of the front axle, so the rear wheels spent a lot of time off the ground. Shift that craft-bot back a few bricks, and it should be better because it won’t be lifting the rear.

I think the reason your door keeps needing to be updated is since there are blocks directly next to the metal it makes the game confused on what is supposed to get pushed by the pistons. If you take away some of the stone right next to the door it might help.
How mad do think kan is going to be when he finds out the controller connected to the piston makes it to where you can extend the piston all the way with out upgrading the piston 🤔
Survival is realy something this game was needing for a loooong time. Thanks to your builds i have too a piston engine on most of my vechicles in survival mode. They're not bad...if you can get used them.
Can you still set the controller on loop? Cuz then you could make a car without fuel consumption... Edit: If you jump under the water and scroll thru your buckets, they will all fill up
Also for the gate I have an idea basically use the color sensors to detect when a part of ur vehicle (painted a color obviously) 3x3 square then have the color sensor in the middle of the gate and if your vehicle pulls up whatever color it is set to the sensors color set to like 10 blocks to sense then have that open it if it detects it. You can also have a button on the side for just a player and a normal sensors on the inside too
I think there should be some sort of terminal you can attach to a creation/base that depending on how many blocks are damaged to what extent, its asks for resources to repair them so you don't have to wait for blocks to break and then search for them to replace them
When building on the water you should make everything on the water detachable so you have a huge raft boat that you can transport ground vehicle's to other places or use it as a last resort "code red" evacuation if your base gets fully infiltrated.
Tip: you can exploit the water mechanics by sitting in the water with a bucket and rapidly right clicking. Sitting in water with a bucket in hand automatically refills the bucket.
Kan, you should try to make a guider or rail for your door. I think the reason for it not working so smooth is because pistons have a little bit of flex in it. So it might be resting on the wall.
Noticed that myself. Seems a bit exploity, tbh. Upgrading the piston should be literally adding extra length, otherwise you should have that length from the start, so gaining it from a computer circuit seems... Unintended.
Hey Kan, what you could do for the gate is have the standard suburban garage door sort of thing where you have it roll up on a set of rails, operated by a single piston.
Make the gates go from the side shortcut to get in hair and put the two house on two pistons on the side and then it closes up from the sides the sides
When you put weight in the front of that car, still put it behind the front axle. Your drive from the mechanic’s station to the peninsula had your rear axle spending about half the time off the ground.
honestly i was an idiot... i was looking for a dark/black block because thats what they look like in chests and on the ground... now i realised the icon is see through aswell and turns green ish in the craft bot :D
The farm bots will try breaking the weakest blocks, so try building the gate out of a weaker block, so that they attack it. Also, only the small green bots can swim, the hay bots will spawn on land and cant swim around.
kAN: I’M GOING TO MAKE SCRAP MECHANIC GREAT AGAIN. Btw kAN I came up with a 4X6 Piston powered truck idea. You do the same thing you were doing, but you put another piston between the axle where the pipe pieces go and it just keeps going straight back but it doesn’t have suspension functionality.

Hey so apparently bots can't climb steep rocks and soil can be planted on structures I think. Theoretically, you could make a base sat on the top of a large rock outcroping or pillar and the bots wouldn't be able to get to it. Would love to se someone make a cliffside base hanging over the water like some sort of fantasy setting town. Please like this for visibility if you agree!
...Maybe you should keep that piston powered truck around for the food crates. Z1 made three food crates, and they barely fit on his 6-wheel-drive truck. Crated food seems kinda huge XD
Kan a good idea for collecting resources is to stream where you just collect alot of stuff but don't work on your base because that's for the video. Hope you read this and think about it!
If you want the farmbots to attack your gate instead of your wall, you will probably need to make your gate tier 2 metal and the outer layer of your wall tier three metal.
Try to make a piston catapult trap. Do it behind the gate. So you can just open gate. Farm bots goes inside and step on ur trap and u activate it and send them to fly)))
I'm not entirely sure but as I know, farmbots firstly attack the weakest block that they detect. So if you build the wall from the stone and gate from the metal, they will attack the wall firstly. (That's why the builders in survival mode trailer build wooden gate I guess)
In my experience with the farmbots, if there is something really close to the farm plots and it's closer to the Farmbot then the plots, they will still attack the structure even with an opening to the plants
For the fate you should really make all the brick blocks holding up the pistons into the metal, otherwise the bots just need to break each side of stone that's supporting them and the gate falls over.

You should make a double side gate, two half sized gates on either side of the entryway closing inward, stored INSIDE the wall so that it’s hidden!

An interesting way for the engine it makes but it seems a lot slower then it was before
It is a bit slower because it bounces the wheels (plus I made the vehicle a lot heavier) but the gears never slip anymore so it has a lot more power.

kAN Gaming it was so much slower because you put a massive weight in front of the front axle, so the rear wheels spent a lot of time off the ground. Shift that craft-bot back a few bricks, and it should be better because it won’t be lifting the rear.
@@kANGaming what if you rotated the engine by 90° so it pushes the bearings forward/back instead of up/down? That might help with the bouncing issue.

Unless you make it hybrid (Gas and pistons at the same time) it's gonna be a complete waste of resourses
I think the reason your door keeps needing to be updated is since there are blocks directly next to the metal it makes the game confused on what is supposed to get pushed by the pistons. If you take away some of the stone right next to the door it might help.

Just finished watching scrapmans survival series non stop for the last 4 days now I'm watching all of yours
How mad do think kan is going to be when he finds out the controller connected to the piston makes it to where you can extend the piston all the way with out upgrading the piston 🤔
He might not want to to that be a it kinda ruins the entire upgrading system.
Survival is realy something this game was needing for a loooong time. Thanks to your builds i have too a piston engine on most of my vechicles in survival mode. They're not bad...if you can get used them.
Can you still set the controller on loop? Cuz then you could make a car without fuel consumption...
Edit: If you jump under the water and scroll thru your buckets, they will all fill up
Yea you can still set a controller on a loop but its a lot slower than a piston engine. Maybe if you stack a ton of bearings it would be ok.

Also for the gate I have an idea basically use the color sensors to detect when a part of ur vehicle (painted a color obviously) 3x3 square then have the color sensor in the middle of the gate and if your vehicle pulls up whatever color it is set to the sensors color set to like 10 blocks to sense then have that open it if it detects it. You can also have a button on the side for just a player and a normal sensors on the inside too

I think there should be some sort of terminal you can attach to a creation/base that depending on how many blocks are damaged to what extent, its asks for resources to repair them so you don't have to wait for blocks to break and then search for them to replace them

When building on the water you should make everything on the water detachable so you have a huge raft boat that you can transport ground vehicle's to other places or use it as a last resort "code red" evacuation if your base gets fully infiltrated.
KAN JUMP JUMP when attacking farmbots so you can miss some the hit!
Tip: you can exploit the water mechanics by sitting in the water with a bucket and rapidly right clicking. Sitting in water with a bucket in hand automatically refills the bucket.
Kan the caged people respawn so when you find and trade them after a while they will respawn
Kan, you should try to make a guider or rail for your door. I think the reason for it not working so smooth is because pistons have a little bit of flex in it. So it might be resting on the wall.

Noticed that myself. Seems a bit exploity, tbh. Upgrading the piston should be literally adding extra length, otherwise you should have that length from the start, so gaining it from a computer circuit seems... Unintended.

You should deff make spudguns that pop out of the wall and aim parallel with the wall. Sit in 1 seat and control the hole wall.
Hey Kan, what you could do for the gate is have the standard suburban garage door sort of thing where you have it roll up on a set of rails, operated by a single piston.

Kan use metal 3 for the body of the vehicle for durability and use some chest for extra inventory space. Love your vids keep it up.
Make the gates go from the side shortcut to get in hair and put the two house on two pistons on the side and then it closes up from the sides the sides

When you put weight in the front of that car, still put it behind the front axle. Your drive from the mechanic’s station to the peninsula had your rear axle spending about half the time off the ground.
The car looks like a docking car at an airport or a load car at an airport

honestly i was an idiot... i was looking for a dark/black block because thats what they look like in chests and on the ground... now i realised the icon is see through aswell and turns green ish in the craft bot :D
The farm bots will try breaking the weakest blocks, so try building the gate out of a weaker block, so that they attack it. Also, only the small green bots can swim, the hay bots will spawn on land and cant swim around.

Btw kAN I came up with a 4X6 Piston powered truck idea. You do the same thing you were doing, but you put another piston between the axle where the pipe pieces go and it just keeps going straight back but it doesn’t have suspension functionality.

Hey so apparently bots can't climb steep rocks and soil can be planted on structures I think. Theoretically, you could make a base sat on the top of a large rock outcroping or pillar and the bots wouldn't be able to get to it. Would love to se someone make a cliffside base hanging over the water like some sort of fantasy setting town. Please like this for visibility if you agree!

Kan a good idea for collecting resources is to stream where you just collect alot of stuff but don't work on your base because that's for the video. Hope you read this and think about it!
If you want the farmbots to attack your gate instead of your wall, you will probably need to make your gate tier 2 metal and the outer layer of your wall tier three metal.
You should have 2 horizontal sliding doors as it will keep the two sides of the wall separate , making it safer from glitches etc...

Try to make a piston catapult trap. Do it behind the gate. So you can just open gate. Farm bots goes inside and step on ur trap and u activate it and send them to fly)))

I'm not entirely sure but as I know, farmbots firstly attack the weakest block that they detect. So if you build the wall from the stone and gate from the metal, they will attack the wall firstly. (That's why the builders in survival mode trailer build wooden gate I guess)

kaN! you can connect the craft bot output pipe to the input, so everytime you craft something you can craft use it to craft something else! :D

In my experience with the farmbots, if there is something really close to the farm plots and it's closer to the Farmbot then the plots, they will still attack the structure even with an opening to the plants
For the fate you should really make all the brick blocks holding up the pistons into the metal, otherwise the bots just need to break each side of stone that's supporting them and the gate falls over.
